Here is why Trump can only hire unknown lawyers & Giuliani

Raw Story
April 21, 2018

"HELPING THIS PRESIDENT IS AKIN TO TREASON":
HERE IS WHY TRUMP CAN ONLY HIRE UNKNOWN LAWYERS AND GIULIANI

Twelve partners from seven top-tier white-collar criminal defense attorneys turned down President Donald Trump before former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was brought on, the Boston Globe reported Saturday.

"Rudy Giuliani has always been available," former California prosecutor Roger Cossack suggested.
"Hiring Rudy Giuliani only underlines Trump's dilemma in finding a lawyer who will work for him."

The rejection of President Trump has no parallels in American history.

"What we're seeing with President Trump is really unprecedented," explained historian Timothy Naftali, former director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.

None of the lawyers reported to have turned down the president agreed to comment on why they passed.
Even experts refused to go on record.

"Everyone who becomes associated with Trump becomes diminished," said "one leading white-collar crime expert" who feared offending Trump.
"You come out with less of a reputation."

NYT's Habermann reveals identity of Trump's 'drunk/drugged up loser' - and who else he fears

Raw Story
April 21, 2018

Following an early Saturday morning Twitter rant by President Donald Trump, palace intrigue centered upon which former staffer was accused of being a "drunk/drugged up loser."

Two former advisors were listed by name in the story, longtime political confidante Roger Stone and campaign advisor Sam Nunberg.

Both denied being the target of the commander-in-chief's social media bullying.

Now, the New York Times correspondent Maggie Habermann - who was also a target of Trump's Twitter abuse - has offered her analysis.

"Trump is referring to Sam Nunberg in his tweet," Habermann reported.
"He's too aware of what Stone could do to him to be that direct."

The Man Behind the President's Tweets

New York Times Magazine
April 16, 2018
By Robert Draper

THE MAN BEHIND THE PRESIDENT'S TWEETS

Unveiling the mystery of Dan Scavino, the White House social media director, whose job is to help @realDonaldTrump stay unpresidential.

Last July, Donald Trump was sued in federal court over his Twitter habits.
It wasn't the tone or content of Trump's approximately 37,300 tweets that landed him in trouble.
Instead, it was the possible unconstitutionality of the way he uses one feature of the platform:
the block button.
The plaintiffs, represented by Columbia University's Knight First Amendment Institute, were seven individuals - ranging from a freelance journalist to a New York comedian to a Texas police officer - who had sent negative replies to an @realDonaldTrump tweet and were subsequently blocked by the president.

Though Trump's Twitter account purports to be a personal one, the plaintiff's argued, his writings invariably involved government business and executive opinions - making his posts a public forum to which all American citizens should be guaranteed access.

Though @realDonaldTrump reads like the unabridged representation of a singular man's impulses, three other defendants were named in the suit, which is expected to be ruled upon in the Southern District of New York in the coming months.
One of them was Hope Hicks, long a public face of Trump World, the 29-year-old former model who spent the last three years as Trump's media liaison before leaving the White House in late March.
A second was Trump's press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the president's designated mouthpiece.
But the third, unlike Hicks and Sanders, was someone most Americans have never heard of:
a man named Dan Scavino Jr.
