Is there something you can substitute for shortening?

Specifically because I want to make Indian fry bread:

Recipe ingredients:

2 1?2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1?2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1 cup milk
oil (for deep frying)

Directions

To make Indian Fry Bread Mix dry ingredients together.
Cut in shortening; then add milk.
Fry in oil until golden brown.

But I haven't seen shortening on the shelf in ages. I'm not about to buy a number 10 size of shortening, either.

What can you substitute for it?

Anybody ever get a "Charley Horse" shoulder?

I think it's the same type of seizing in my tricep and deltoid that manifests occasionally as though inflicting the most severe shoulder pain in the universe telling me that I should be glad that it hurts less than it should because it doesn't inundate, vituperate and hate like my SHOULDER!

Jury duty bugged out on me

I couldn't do anything, and I had to opt out to even be able to post again.

I use Firefox 41.0 on Windows 8.1.

It got stuck or something. I couldn't do jury duty, but I couldn't get out of it, either until I just closed the window.

No big deal, just figured I should bring it to your attention.

What's for Dinner, Tue., Oct. 6, 2015

I'm going to try making a cracker crust pizza. I love them, and I got close with fresh tomato slices, a mountain of delicious mozzarella, olive oil brushed on the crust.

I pop the crust in the oven for about 3 minutes, to let the olive oil and herbs set, then I take it out and put on the toppings. I got VERY close last time to a cracker crust, hopefully this time will be the winner!

I'm going to hype Shadowrun: Dragonfall Director's Cut. I am not in anyway affiliated with them.

This game is AWESOME. It is cheap as dirt, and absolutely a phenomenal RPG.

Try it. If you like it, there is an editor and you can download player made campaigns.

It is a cross between all three.
