Read this about what's happening in Brazil. It could happen here.

BRAZILIAN MILITARY CURTAILS PRESIDENT BOLSONARO’S POWER OVER COVID19 DISPUTE

On April 4 there were reports that General Walter Braga Netto was now the “operational president” of Brazil, with President Jair Bolsonaro effectively stripped of his decision-making powers. Netto, an Army General, had been the chief of staff for Bolsonaro. He was put in power by the Armed Forces’ high command after Bolsonaro was isolated by his cabinet, governors and other political leaders over his response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Initial reports came from Argentine investigative journalist Horacio Verbitsky. A high-ranking official of the Brazilian Army told his Argentine counterpart that Bolsonaro is no longer involved in decision making. Verbitsky said, “There was a telephone communication from a high ranking Brazilian army official with one from Argentina, in which the Brazilian informed them that they had taken the decision to circumvent President Bolsonaro in all important decisions.” Bolsonaro is described as a “monarch without effective power.”

DefenseNet also reported that Netto is now the “Chief of Staff of the Planalto,” (the presidential palace) corroborating the Argentine journalist’s claims. They reported that on March 30, 2020, Netto opened the press conference in a new role in politics while continuing his position as Chief of Staff of the Army Command.

They let Bolsonaro keep his title but he no longer has any decision making power. Keeping him in office avoids an uprising by the extreme right and low ranking members of the military who support him. There has not been a public announcement that General Netto is the “acting president” as there is no such position in the Brazilian Constitution.

So far, only Reuters and Defense Net are giving attention to this sweeping change in Brazil, but this could reach mainstream media here. And you know what would happen with public opinion once it does. IF it does.

So, I suspect there will be suppression of this in U.S. media. Thank heaven for social media. Facebook is where I first read this.

And yet, the full presidential authorization that Admiral John Polowczyk, the head of the FEMA task force, creates a back channel of intel overview by the Pentagon, which could then be the basis of the same thing happening here in the US.

John Prine. “Bruised Orange”

(lyrics)
My heart's in the ice house come hill or come valley
Like a long ago Sunday when I walked through the alley
On a cold winter's morning to a church house
Just to shovel some snow.

I heard sirens on the train track howl naked gettin' nuder,
An altar boy's been hit by a local commuter
Just from walking with his back turned
To the train that was coming so slow.

You can gaze out the window get mad and get madder,
Throw your hands in the air, say "; What does it matter?";
But it don't do no good to get angry,
So help me I know

For a heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter.
You become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there
Wrapped up in a trap of your very own
Chain of sorrow.

I been brought down to zero, pulled out and put back there.
I sat on a park bench, kissed the girl with the black hair
And my head shouted down to my heart
"; You better look out below!"

Hey, it ain't such a long drop don't stammer don't stutter
From the diamonds in the sidewalk to the dirt in the gutter
And you carry those bruises to remind you wherever you go.

Tycho. “Outer Sunset”

Bonobo. “Black Sands”

Earth, Wind & Fire. “Fantasy”

(lyrics)
Every man has a place, in his heart there's a space,
And the world can't erase his fantasies
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship fantasii
All your dreams will come true, right away

And we will live together, until the twelfth of never
Our voices will ring forever, as one

Every thought is a dream, rushing by in a stream,
Bringing life to the kingdom of doing
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship fantasii
All your dreams will come true, miles away

Our voices will ring together until the twelfth of never,
We all, will live love forever, as one

Come see victory, in the land called fantasy
Loving life, a new decree,
Bring your mind to everlasting liberty

Our minds will explore together, old worlds, we conquer, forever
We then, will expand love together, as one

Come to see, victory in a land called fantasy,
Loving life, for you and me, to behold, to your soul is ecstasy
You will find, other kind, that has been in search for you,
Many lives has brought you to
Recognize it's your life, now in review

And as you stay for the play, fantasy, has in store for you,
A glowing light will see you through
It's your day, shining day, all your dreams come true

As you glide, in your stride with the wind, as you fly away
Give a smile, from your lips, and say
I am free, yes I'm free, now I'm on my way

We Democrats will fix THAT later.

"Administration officials also will not say what supplies are going to what states."

Why BD says states should look out for their own supplies, and yet confiscates orders to places within those states is a shady use of law.

Which is one reason BD has surrounded himself from accountability from Congress with an iron curtain of 7 inspector generals.

He also said in his April 7 presser that he can't tell governors what to do, which is why he hesitates to proclaim a national stay-at-home order.

So that's why MA's governor, Charlie Baker, can deliver his supplies, using his state police, to another governor, Andrew Cuomo, and his state police deliver them without confiscations.

And it's why CA's Newsom can have orders of millions of masks and other supplies come to CA every month without confiscation. You don't go on the Rachel Maddow Show and call your state a nation state for no reason. California, in global terms, IS a nation state.

Other governors have traded directly with other countries: Cuomo and Newsom with China, Ryan of Illinois with Cuba and northeastern governors with Venezuela.

Bloody Donnie's FEMA task force has no legal jurisdiction over governors and THEIR supply orders, while local hospitals and medical networks CAN have their shipments confiscated by FEMA.

So what we are seeing is Democratic governors taking over the direct delivery of supplies THEY own to other Democratic governors. Because, while BD doesn't want to be transparent about where the "national stockpile" is going, it's now clear to the rest of us that his red state loyalist governors get preferential supply delivery treatment during this pandemic. All Republicans are secretly proud of his so-called power.

Democratic governors -- 'cause they have state police power, lawyers, guns, and money, too, you know -- are cockblocking BD's secret, preferential treatment of COVID-19 supply distribution.

I call them good old American Patriots. Democratic governors are shining lights of power for The People in a dark time.

A time of pandemic, when this feckless, fakeass, fatass fuck of a president and his Repub henchmen only care about the survival of SOME Americans. HIS voters.

That red states have NOT issued stay-at-home orders was to let the pandemic kill off minorities, with BD saying, " I can't stop them," shrugging the national order off during in his presser yesterday.

All Democrats in Congress have to do is get the record of FEMA confiscations,
find out where those supplies were re-sold -- i.e., follow the money, because they ARE being resold -- and they have a RICO case.

"Yet there is little indication that federal officials are controlling the market."

We'll fix THAT later, motherfuckers.

Gov Andrew Cuomo's Update Apr 7 2020

America's real presidential daily report and presser; and in effect, the actual president.

This is the governor who daily gives multi information on numbers,
updates federal responses,
what other states need to look out for,
explanations,
perspectives on how to look at our situation, and
most of all,
thanks.

His is the model that gives us standards for judging our own state governments.

America's hopeful realist says "It's hard. I get it. It's not about me. What I do will affect other people."

Emphasis on the Realist part.

Exuma. “Dambala”

Shawn Mendes. “Youth”

Here I am, stuck on this couch
Scrolling through my notes
Heart was broken, still not growing, nah
Waking up to headlines
Filled with devastation again
My heart is broken
But I keep going

Pain, but I won't let it turn into hate
No, I won't let it change me
Never losing sight of the one I keep inside
Now, I know it
Yeah, I know it

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away
You can't take my youth away

It's hard to sleep at night
Knowing what's outside
Feeling hopeless
I need focus

You hit me with words I never heard
Come out your mouth
To be honest
I don't want it, no
Pain, but I won't let it turn into hate
No, I won't let it change me

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away
You can't take my youth away
You can't take my youth away

Pain, but I won't let it turn into hate
No, I won't let it change me
Pain, but I won't let it turn into hate
No, I won't let it change me

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away (youth away)

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away

You can't take my youth away
This soul of mine will never break
As long as I wake up today
You can't take my youth away
You can't take my youth away
