We were told that there are 4 stakeholders in the corporation
1) the business
2) the stockholder
3) the employee
4) the community
Since 1985 the focus has switched to the sales dollars that benefit the corporate hierarchy and the stockholder AND now, even the community holds a higher place than the employee. The employee is seen as anecessary evil in order to produce.
There needs to be a rebalancing of the importance.
1) the stockholder needs to be paid but the business leaders needn't inflate their expectations.
2) the corporation needs to have money put back into research and development to create new products for future profit.
3) the employees (which includes the workers and the leadership) need to get a reward from the corporate profits. Since the reward is calculated in percentage of salary, the larged the salary the greater the increase but not at rates seen in the past for corporate honchos.
4) the community gets returns from charities, taxes from income, etc.
The worker has been beated down to the point where there is little of no discretionary income and the recovery is suffering.
Let's get the "stupid" out and start to rebuild America!!

If we can't reason with our own religious conservatives
how do we hope to reason with the religious conservatives of another country?
I think that any one who talks about religous writings as fact
is lost in a fantacy land to begin with.

So people say that an American citizen is entitled to due process.
The problem is he/she is in a foreign country.
There is proof they are working with terrorist factions.

Now anyobne who grew up in the 60's and did dope, knows
when they are under surveliance, knows when things are getting hot and knows that they are hanging around with people who
will raise the suspicion that you are doing something against the law.
Here is a guy who has his picture on TV in the U.S. and is
hiding out with AQ sympathizers. I don't think the guy has
any doubt that the U.S./CIA is gunning for his ass. If he is
falsely accused then don't you think he would write a letter
and say that he is being falsely accused.
Alternatively, if you saw a freinds picture on TV saying he was
a big terrorist wouldn't you call someone and say they were making a mistake?
I really don't think that the CIA is going to go around and assasinate someone just because of a personal grudge.
My apologies to the constitutionalists in the room but I think
we need to draw a line and separate American citizens from terrorists. IMHO

but a state legislature will propose a discrimanatory bill
the governor will sign it into law

there is no one who will declair it discriminatory and
take it off the books
So, states can openly discriminate and nothing happens to them?
The DA of each state should be able to declair any new law
discriminatory and stop it from becoming law. Where's the protection for the people?

For the past 35 years I have been told why my salary has not increased (even to keep up with the cost of living).
Now, we are seeing that our own congress has been making laws in order to funnel the wealth to the upper class.
Marx had some very sound advice.
A company repairs it's motorfleet - why not employees?
Here's some logic:
If employees expend energy and tax their physical systems why shouldn't the employer pay for health insurance to keep the body in "working order" just like they pay for repairs of their trucks and motor fleet.
Health care is getting more expensive - There is the problem!
We need to look at what is making health care and health insurance so expensive and get the numbers back in line.
This is just another example of the greed of the hospitals, insurance companies and the cost of malpractice insurance for physicians.
Note:If the workers salaries have been level for the past 35 years why can't corporations have used the savings to put toward health insurance?

This is the thing that bugs me about the Repubs. they listen to what a Dem says and then just picks out the specific things they can dump on.
The main part of her testimony was about a friend who had cystitis and couldn't get the pills because they cost so much. But Rush just focused on the birth control/sex link because it would be distasteful to the conservatives.
Two examples:
They took a talk from Pres. Obama and cut off the beginning where he stated that McCain made a statement and made it sound like it was the president who was saying it.
Last week Fox propaganda showed a soldier chewing out Bloton for's something and Bloton's reply. The audience actually booed Bolton's reply but Fox edited in clapping from another part of the program.
This lying really pisses me off. They really need to be fined or be made to present true information or be taken off the air. then you wonder why people are so confused about our political system!
I keep seeing Taliban mentality
They want to be "conservative"
(follow rules - self deprived)
They don't want anyone else to do what they forbid.
(death to infidels) (no freedom of choice)
Belief in a religious reality
(they act on the writings of the bible (and then a miracle occured)
and then they laugh at astrology - what's the difference?)
They can't be happy that they are leading a pure life
They need everyone else to live the same life
(misery loves company) and they would hate to see that
someone else is doing what they restrict themselves from
doing (but they're not immediately getting struck by lightening!)
(so they may get away with it!)
