Jared Kushner Complained to Time Warner Execs About CNN's Unflattering Trump Coverage

President Donald Trump, a moldy sponge that smells faintly of vomit, is not a big fan of the media. Thank god his son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is there to whisper his displeasure to the people in power.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Kushner met with top executives at Time Warner—the parent company of President Trump’s least-favorite media organization CNN—to express his concern about “unfair coverage slanted against the president.” Kushner has discussed the matter of the less-than-flattering-but-definitely-accurate coverage with Time Warner VP of corporate marketing and communications Gary Ginsberg in a meeting at the White House as well as with Jeff Zucker, CNN Worldwide President.

Tangled up in this messy bit of news is the fact that AT&T is close to buying Time Warner in a massive $88.4 billion deal that’s still awaiting government approval—a deal that Trump swore during the campaign would not happen. Also, Zucker was instrumental in Trump’s success. As the president of NBC Universal, he put The Apprentice on air, giving the bloviating moron that now runs our country a national platform, setting the stage for his star to rise.

Christie says Trump made him order the meatloaf at meal together

TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says President Donald Trump made him order meatloaf when they dined together at the White House this week.

Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, joined Trump at the White House on Tuesday.

The Republican governor said while guest hosting a New York sports talk radio show Thursday that Trump pointed out the menu and told people to get whatever they want. Then he said he and Christie were going to have the meatloaf.

‘‘This is what it’s like to be with Trump,’’ Christie said. ‘‘He says, ‘There’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’ And then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.’’

Mattis Not Ready to Recommend Ground Combat Troops for Syria, Iraq

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Thursday he wants to consult with allies before considering putting U.S. ground combat troops into Syria and Iraq to speed up the campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Mattis did not rule out the possibility but said, "I first want to talk to the other allies and we'll decide where we're going."

Without input from the allies, Mattis said he is not "comfortable answering on my own at this point" on the issue of recommending to President Donald Trump that the U.S. commit conventional forces to Syria and Iraq.

The consultations with Mideast allies are likely to begin this weekend following a security conference in Germany on Friday, Mattis said at a news conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

"I'm going to fly from here into the Middle East," he said. "Once we know what we have in a mutual appreciation of the situation, then we'll go forward."

Russian spy ship now off Virginia coast

The Russian spy ship Viktor Leonov is no longer off the coast of Connecticut, but has moved southward to a position northeast of Norfolk, Virginia.

The vessel's presence 30 miles south of a U.S. Navy submarine base in New London, Connecticut drew international headlines this week even though U.S. officials were not concerned by the ship's operations, which are in international waters.

On Tuesday, the Russian spy ship had positioned itself east of Long Island about 30 miles south of the New London submarine base.

Officials said the vessel was "loitering" in the area, presumably gathering intelligence about U.S. Navy submarine operations, similar to what it did in 2014 and 2015 when it stayed for several weeks at a time close to the other U.S. Navy submarine base at Kings Bay, Georgia.

But, a U.S. official said the Leonov only spent about 24 hours in the waters off of Connecticut before it began moving south sometime on Wednesday. By Thursday morning, the ship was 75 miles northeast of Norfolk.

GOP congressman appears to distance himself from Trump

Even as President Donald Trump derided attacks on his government and relations with Russia, a second Chicago-area GOP congressman appears to be putting some distance between himself and the White House.

In a statement, Rep. Randy Hultgren of Wheaton, the most conservative local GOP House member, said resigned National Security Adviser Michael Flynn "had to go" and called for a wider probe.

"I was extremely disturbed by the actions" of Flynn, who reportedly discussed U.S. sanctions with the Russian ambassador to this country before Trump took office, then denied it to Vice President Michael Pence. "His misleading statements to the vice president compromised the trust required of someone serving in such a critical position."

But then Hultgren notably went on to the wider issue of alleged Russian activity on behalf of Trump in the presidential election.

"I remain very concerned over accusations of Russian involvement and interference in American affairs," Hultgren said in the statement. "We cannot and will not let this stand, and I will be actively working with my colleagues in Congress to look into the matter thoroughly."

U.S. EPA staff told to prepare for Trump executive orders: sources

Source: Reuters

Staff at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have been told that President Donald Trump is preparing a handful of executive orders to reshape the agency, to be signed once a new administrator is confirmed, two sources who attended the meeting told Reuters on Wednesday.

A senior EPA official who had been briefed by members of the Trump administration mentioned the executive orders at a meeting of staffers in the EPA's Office of General Counsel on Tuesday, but did not provide details about what the orders would say, said the sources, who asked not to be named.

"It was just a heads-up to expect some executive orders, that's it," one of the sources said.

The second source said attendees at the meeting were told Trump would sign between two and five executive orders.

Trump administration officials did not respond to requests for comment.

Trump has promised to cut U.S. environmental rules - including those ushered in by former President Barack Obama targeting carbon dioxide emissions - as a way to bolster the drilling and coal mining industries, but has vowed to do so without compromising air and water quality.

Donald Trump's team 'compiles dossier on African American journalists'

Source: Independent

Conflict and controversy seem to follow Omarosa Manigault, who stirred up plenty of both as a reality-TV star and a longtime associate of President Donald Trump.

Ms Manigault, who is now a communications official in the Trump administration, got into a heated argument with a White House reporter just steps from the Oval Office last week, according to witnesses. The reporter, April Ryan, said Ms Manigault “physically intimidated” her in a manner that could have warranted intervention by the Secret Service.

Ms Ryan also said Ms Manigault made verbal threats, including the assertion that Ms Ryan was among several journalists on whom Trump officials had collected “dossiers” of negative information.

Ms Manigault, a onetime friend of Ms Ryan’s, declined to address the accusations on the record, offering only this emailed statement: “My comment: Fake news!” She did not specify what she considered false.

Donald Trump is the bad guy in the first TV ad of Los Angeles' congressional race

The first television ad of the race for the 34th Congressional District is out, and President Trump stars as the bully.

In the ad for Sara Hernandez for Congress, Trump is the first and last image viewers see.

"How do you stand up to a bully?" a female narrator asks. "It takes a classroom teacher."

Hernandez, a former aide to L.A. City Councilman Jose Huizar , taught middle school as part of the Teach for America program between 2005 and 2008. She most recently served as executive director for Coro Southern California, a public affairs training institute.

Moby Claims Donald Trump's Russian Sex Tape Is "100% Real"

after spending the weekend talking to friends who work in dc i can safely(well, 'accurately'...) post the following things:

1-the russian dossier on trump is real. 100% real. he's being blackmailed by the russian government, not just for being peed
on by russian hookers, but for much more nefarious things.
2-the trump administration is in collusion with the russian government, and has been since day one.
3-the trump administration needs a war, most likely with iran. at present they are putting u.s warships off the coast
of iran in the hope that iran will attack one of the ships and give the u.s a pretense for invasion.
4-there are right wing plans to get rid of trump. he's a drain on their fundraising and their approval ratings, and the gop and koch
brothers and other u.s right wing groups are planning to get rid of trump.
5-intelligence agencies around the world, and here in the u.s, are horrified by the incompetence of the trump administration, and are
working to present information that will lead to high level firings and, ultimately, impeachment.
i'm writing these things so that when/if these things happen there will be a public record beforehand.
these are truly baffling and horrifying times, as we have an incompetent president who is essentially owned by a foreign power.
