School under fire for taking 6-year-olds to gun range

School under fire for taking 6-year-olds to gun range

At this school, the three Rs are reading, writing — and revolvers.

A Georgia school is under fire for taking 6-year-olds on a field trip to a gun range, where the tots posed for photos with firearms.

“Taking young children to a gun range? Taking pictures of young children posing with their finger on the trigger? Unacceptable, irresponsible, and dangerous,” wrote Jessica James on Holdheide Academy’s Facebook page.

She was just one of dozens of outraged commenters who flooded the page with criticism over the weekend when photos of the private Woodstock school’s pint-sized pupils holding pistols surfaced online.

I wonder if these are parents or others they're complaining. My wife is a preschool teacher and they cannot take the kids even to Dairy Queen without letters, permission slips and a full schedule given to the parents.

Brother arrested after 3 young girls found dead in Maryland home

Source: ABC News

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of three girls under age of 10 found dead in a home in Maryland, police said. One of the girls was the sister of the man now in custody, authorities said.

Antonio Williams, 25, was arrested and is a suspect in the killings of the three girls, two 6-year-olds and one 9-year-old, Prince George's County police said in a press release. He faces charges of first- and second-degree murder and related charges.

The girls were found with stab wounds Friday morning by authorities after the mother of the suspect came home from work and found the three young victims. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Williams is a brother of one of the 6-year-olds. The other two girls are sisters from Newark, New Jersey. They are daughters of a relative of Williams's mother, police said.

Here are the Republicans denouncing Trump by name

Here are the Republicans denouncing Trump by name

Republicans are mixed in their response after President Donald Trump's unpredictable Tuesday news conference, during which he defended white supremacists and blamed "both sides" for violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

But some Republicans spoke out against Trump, using his name directly to emphasize that they don't agree with what he said in Trump Tower.

During his news conference, Trump blamed "both sides" in the protests and equated the white supremacists on one side with the counter-protesters on the other side.

Some Republicans, to avoid more conflict, denounced racism after Trump's news conference -- and some indirectly referred to his statements when they called him out.

Will this be enough to create a schism in the GOP?
