Hillary Clinton released a new ad in Iowa highlighting her lifelong history of fighting for children and families.

The 60-second ad, called Children, uses a documentary style approach and shows Clinton at different points in her life standing up for the rights of children and families. It pieces together different clips of Clinton giving speeches to demonstrate her ongoing support.

"One of the areas that I've been particularly interested in is the area of children," a younger Clinton said in the first clip in the ad.

"We intend to be sure that everybody in this room and every child in this state is somebody," she said in another clip.

During the ad, Clinton said every child deserves a chance to "live up to his or her God-given potential." Children's futures are shaped by the values of their parents and the policies of the nation, she said.

"It's time to protect the next generation," she said.

"I've spent my life fighting for children, families and our country and I'm not stopping now," she said at the end of the ad.

Clinton helped start the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, launch the Children's Health Insurance Program and create the permanent position of ambassador-at-large for global women's issues, her campaign said in an email.

Feminist Majority Endorses Hillary Clinton for President

January 26, 2016 by Feminist Majority

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JANUARY 26, 2016 – The Feminist Majority is proud to announce today its endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton for President of the United States. Hillary has a decades-long record of achievement in advancing both women’s rights and civil rights, and has made fighting for low-income families a priority. She has demonstrated the leadership and vision necessary to move our country forward.

Hillary has worked to close the gender and race pay gap, fought to end race-based segregation in education, and is a champion of reproductive rights. She has supported ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, fought for passage and reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, prioritized women’s rights globally, and successfully used her power in the Senate, along with Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), to push for FDA approval of emergency contraception. Hillary supports paid family and medical leave and played a major role in passing the State Children Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), which provides 8 million low-income children with access to health care.

“Battle after battle, Hillary has proven that she will not only stand with the feminist community, but that our fight is her fight. ....................“Hillary has demonstrated her deep commitment to women’s rights and advancement. Through her actions and words, she has inspired women worldwide to take leadership, and countless nations of the world to prioritize women’s and girls’ advancement in the economy, education, and health care.”

“Women and girls, at long last, deserve a feminist woman in the White House whom we can count on to fight for us every day,” said Katherine Spillar, Feminist Majority Executive Director. “Not only can we count on Hillary to defeat efforts to make abortion illegal and family planning inaccessible, but she will lead efforts to make reproductive health services, including abortion, more accessible for low-income women and women of color. She will lead efforts to stop sexual assault in colleges, high schools, and in the military. She will reshape the efforts to gain paid family medical leave without increasing payroll taxes which disproportionately hit low and middle-income workers.”

“Hillary gets things done because she is a strong, trusted leader who never gives up fighting for people, families, and children. In fighting for comprehensive health care reform, she played a major role in securing SCHIP for the children of low-income families. She is a leader who is inclusive – she brings people together – and she will fight for immigration reform and the DREAMers. She has the wisdom and experience to take our country forward,” said Dolores Huerta, co-founder of United Farm Workers, and Feminist Majority board member.

“Hillary Clinton’s vision for the future and her 2016 campaign have prioritized feminist issues like no other presidential campaign in history. She has pledged to end the Hyde Amendment, which prevents low-income women receiving Medicaid from accessing abortion care,”
commented Gaylynn Burroughs, Feminist Majority Policy Director. “She supports the Equality Act to add to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protection against discrimination for the LGBT community, as well as ENDA to stop employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. She has committed to strengthening efforts to address climate change, create more affordable childcare, and build a more equitable tax code. She has also vowed to fight voter suppression and make it easier, not harder, for people of color, women, and young people to vote.” continued Burroughs.

The poll is the first since mid-December that meet's CNN's polling standards and shows Clinton with a sizable lead over Sanders. It could signal that momentum is swinging back in Clinton's direction after Sanders surged into the lead in early January.

..........................

Washington (CNN)A Texas investigation into Planned Parenthood on Monday culminated in an indictment -- of the organization's accusers instead of the group.

.......................................

Planned Parenthood officials lauded the indictments.

"As the dust settles and the truth comes out, it's become totally clear that the only people who engaged in wrongdoing are the criminals behind this fraud, and we're glad they're being held accountable," said Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, in a statement.

According to Planned Parenthood, officials in eleven states have cleared the group of wrongdoing. Officials in another eight states declined to even investigate the accusations made by the Center for Medical Progress.

Hillary Clinton Terrifies Republicans With A Presidential Performance At CNN Town Hall

By: Jason Easley

Hillary Clinton CNN Town Hall

Republicans should be very afraid because Hillary Clinton delivered nothing less than a presidential performance at the CNN Democratic Town Hall.

Video: Part 1 Hillary Clinton CNN Town Hall:

Video: Part 2 Hillary Clinton CNN Town Hall:

Hillary Clinton took aim at Republicans while calling on Democrats to build on the progress that has come during President Obama’s time in office. Clinton took a shot at Trump and said it’s a great country no matter what one of the Republican candidates says. She blasted Republicans, “The other side is not talking issues. They’re talking insults.”

Clinton was asked about young people being enthused about Bernie Sanders. She said that she is happy that people are engaged no matter who they support, and kept the focus on Democrats beating Republicans in November. Clinton told the young questioner that she had been fighting for change and progress since she was his age. She talked about how she fought for universal health care in 1993 and 1994. She said, “You’ve got to keep going. Never give up.” She told young people not get discouraged with politics and to keep going.

Former Sec. Clinton was asked how voters can be sure that income inequality will be a top priority for her. She talked about her decades of fighting for equality in all areas. She said, “I have a really long history of taking on all inequality.” One thing that is becoming clear is a lot of younger voters might not be familiar with Clinton and her record.

Her next question was a foreign policy question that asked where she stood on a scale from 1-10 on military intervention. She said that she thinks it is imperative to avoid military action, which should only be used as a last resort, not a first choice.
Clinton repeated her promise of no American ground forces in Syria and Iraq. Speaking of Iraq, Clinton said that he has more of record of judgement than one vote on the war in Iraq. She repeated for roughly the billionth time that her vote for the Iraq war was a mistake.

Clinton brought up the great point that we had a terrorist threat long before President Obama came into office. (We had a terrorist threat on 9/11). Her mention of 9/11 was a suggestion that George W. Bush dropped the ball on keeping America safe.

In contrast to the hate on the Republican side, Clinton got a question for an American-Muslim veteran. She answered by unloading on Trump for insulting, demeaning, and denigrating people. Clinton strongly defended American-Muslims from Trump’s shameful and dangerous approach. She said that we can’t tolerate this, and we must stand up and say that every person in this country deserves to be treated with respect.

Clinton was asked what she will say to Republican voters after she is elected president. Hillary Clinton said that she wants to be the president for all Americans and that she will tell Republicans that we must come together to solve the nation’s problems......................
