Gay Men Hijack 'Proud Boys' Hashtag In Powerful Social Media Campaign

Source: huff post

QUEER VOICES 10/05/2020 02:40 am ET

These new-version Proud Boys are “standing bi,” quipped one wag.

Gay men launched a savvy campaign over the weekend to appropriate the hashtag of the white supremacist “Proud Boys” with a tsunami of touching images and messages on social media.

The love resistance movement sent “Proud Boys” zooming into the trending stratosphere.

But the posts weren’t riddled with the disturbing images and hate-spewing messages by the group Donald Trump told to “stand by” after he was asked to condemn white supremacists at last week’s presidential debate. (He finally renounced the Proud Boys days later after a mounting backlash.)

Instead, these Proud Boys Twitter posts were filled with photos of embraces and wedding scenes, and expressions of love.

In honor of the campaign, the official Twitter account of the Canadian Armed Forces in the U.S. posted an image of a serviceman kissing his partner with emojis of Canada’s flag, the rainbow flag and the rehabbed Proud Boys hashtag. “Love is love,” piped up the Royal Canadian Navy.

Trump Never Called Governor To Tell Him He Brought COVID Into Ohio

https://www.politicususa.com/2020/10/04/trump-never-called-governor-to-tell-him-he-brought-covid-into-ohio.html

Jake Tapper asked on CNN’s State Of The Union, ” First lady and president and top white house picks have coronavirus. A senior administration telling me they think the president got it was two Saturdays ago at the Supreme Court event. Has the White House called and, if so, when, to let you know they were potentially carriers of the virus and did not abide by safety protocols when they came into the great state of Ohio?”

DeWine tried to dodge, “I think the basic facts are pretty well known what happened.”

Tapper asked again, “They didn’t call you?”

DeWine clearly was trying not to upset the White House,
“I wasn’t there for the debate. I was there, you know, when the president came into Dayton and when the president came in Toledo. Fran and I met the plan in Dayton, and we went up in the plane probably seven, eight, nine, ten minutes with the president, so I was not at the debate at all.”

Tapper pressed, “I know that, but they flew into your state of Ohio, and they likely were contagious. They likely had the virus. I’m glad that you’re okay, and I know that you weren’t at the debate himself and didn’t meet him around the debate but has the white house reached out to you to coordinate with the White House on contact tracing to make sure everyone they came in touch with whether on the staff of the Cleveland Clinic or anybody from Ohio that they are paying attention to them and making sure that they don’t get the virus or if they do, them get the medical care they need?”

Gov. DeWine finally answered, “Well, they have not reached out to me. I know........................

I also saw a tweet last night saying the time printed on the two photos were 10 minutes apart.

The staged photos of Trump "working" with a Sharpie are taken in two different rooms but it's the exact same objects on the two tables, rearranged differently.

All they do is lie and they're still so bad at it.

New questions emerge about timing and severity of President Trump's coronavirus infection

Trump and his WH staff have cried wolf too often to believe them now.

New questions emerge about timing and severity of President Trump’s coronavirus infection

WASHINGTON —

White House officials and doctors stoked new questions Saturday about how sick President Trump has been with COVID-19 and when he became ill, as the president’s medical team suggested Trump had been sick for a day and a half before he announced his infection early Friday morning.

The new timeline, if accurate, would mean Trump held a rally and fundraiser in Minnesota on Wednesday and an intimate fundraiser in New Jersey on Thursday while knowing he was sick, potentially exposing supporters, employees and others to the coronavirus.

The White House quickly attempted to walk back some of the doctors’ comments, claiming Trump was diagnosed Thursday evening, not earlier as the medical team had indicated at a Saturday briefing at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he is being treated.

However, others in Trump’s circle confirmed Trump had been considerably sicker than previously announced, enough so that he required supplemental oxygen on Friday morning after laboring to breathe.

The contradictions and the administration’s long record of providing false or opaque information fueled mounting confusion about Trump’s illness and whether he is in real danger.

“He’s the president, and the country has a right to know. I’d like to see more information,” said Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health.

At the Walter Reed briefing, Dr. Sean Conley, the president’s physician, and other doctors pronounced themselves “cautiously optimistic” about Trump’s health. They said his breathing was normal and his fever was resolving.

A few minutes later, however, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows offered a dimmer assessment to White House reporters..........................

In the wake of President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump testing positive for coronavirus, Gabriel Sherman reports for Vanity Fair that “Trumpworld is gripped by fear and panic” as the news settles in.

Sherman cites a New York Times report that says Trump is exhibiting “coldlike symptoms,” adding that he’s spoken to two sources inside the White House who say Trump is experiencing a cough and a fever. Melania is reportedly asymptomatic.

“Hicks is said to be frustrated with Trump for taking such a cavalier approach to the virus. She was one of the few West Wing staffers to wear a mask in meetings, which her colleagues chided her for,” Sherman writes, adding that she was “made fun of because she wore a mask” according to a friend.

“Sources told me Hicks is also upset that news coverage has made it appear that she gave Trump the virus, when in fact no one knows where he got it,” Sherman reports.

During a reporting trip to the White House in late May, I passed through a magnetometer and met a government agent who pointed an infrared thermometer at my forehead. At that point, the United States was seeing about 21,000 new coronavirus cases a day. Had I been coughing or experienced any recent headaches? the agent asked. No, I said, and was allowed into the building. Today, the country is experiencing about twice as many new positive cases each day. Yet when I arrived at the White House this morning, I was struck by the lack of safety protocols in place.

The most famous address in America now feels like a coronavirus breeding ground. Later tonight, President Trump will address the nation from the White House’s South Lawn, where hundreds of chairs have been arranged with little regard for social distancing.

This afternoon, Secret Service agents checked to see if I was armed, but no one asked if I was ill. Upon reaching the entrance to the press-briefing room, I found the first indication that the nation is in the midst of a historic pandemic. A sign posted by the White House Correspondents’ Association instructed journalists to wear a mask and “spend as little time here as possible.” Beyond that, it was business as usual.
