Incompetence Runs Wild As Trump White House Official Admits This Sh*t is Hard
By Sarah Jones on Thu, Apr 27th, 2017 at 12:45 pm
A Trump White House official told Politico, "I kind of pooh-poohed the experience stuff when I first got here. But this sh*t is hard. ...............................
.................................
President Trump invited a pair of Politico reporters into the Oval Office to sell them on his success narrative and this is what happened when they tried to corroborate his claims.
But interviews with nearly two dozen aides, allies, and others close to the president paint a different picture one of a White House on a collision course between Trumps fixed habits and his growing realization that this job is harder than he imagined when he won the election on Nov. 8, ........................
....................................
If youre an adviser to him, your job is to help him at the margins. To talk him out of doing crazy things, a Trump confidante told the reporters.
Trump is using his mixture of threats and wooing but its not working. In fact, Trumps entire teams lack of knowledge about Congress caused the embarrassing moment when Trump had to pull his Obamacare replacement bill that he ran on.

Politico reports on the melodramas in the Trump White House, including that various administration officials have their own PR representatives now, due to the infighting and backstabbing.
Maddow Reveals The Secret To Silencing Trump: Ask Him About The Flynn-Russia Scandal
I watched her clips earlier tonight on her show. It was a fun segment!
Something has to give soon with Trump-he is losing it. Yet-he will have his ego boosting rally on Saturday which will probably hold him over for a while.

Rachel Maddow Reveals The Secret To Silencing Trump: Ask Him About The Flynn-Russia Scandal

..........................
After nearly 100 days of the Donald Trump presidency, there is nobody on the face of the planet that would say the new president is soft-spoken or careful about what he says.
This is a president, after all, who doesnt mind conducting foreign policy via Twitter or simply making things up on the fly.
...............................
Maddow pointed to one moment in March, when Trump planned to sign two executive orders in front of some cameras but ran out of the room before doing so because a reporter asked him about Flynns ties to Russia.

Buyouts, attrition meant to cull staff as State slashes budget
Critics say plan will hollow out the U.S. diplomatic corps

The State Department plans to cut 2,300 U.S. diplomats and civil servants -- about 9 percent of the Americans in its workforce worldwide -- as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson presses ahead with his task of slashing the agencys budget, according to people familiar with the matter.
.............................
The proposed cuts reflect a belief shared by many conservatives that the State Department and other government agencies have grown too large and drifted away from their core missions. Tillerson was taken aback when he arrived on the job to see how much money the State Department was spending on housing and schooling for the families of diplomats living overseas, according to one person familiar with his thinking.
Current and former diplomats fear that the cuts will bite into the work of the State Department and undermine the voice of the U.S. overseas.
Simply Mindless
Just cutting without deciding what change you want to make is simply mindless, said Stephen Sestanovich, a professor at Columbia Universitys School of International and Public Affairs who served as U.S. ambassador-at-large for the former Soviet Union........................

.........................
President Donald Trump on Thursday reflected on his first 100 days in office with a wistful look at his life before the White House.
"I loved my previous life. I had so many things going," Trump told Reuters in an interview. "This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier."
........................
More than five months after his victory and two days shy of the 100-day mark of his presidency, the election is still on Trump's mind. Midway through a discussion about Chinese President Xi Jinping, the president paused to hand out copies of what he said were the latest figures from the 2016 electoral map.
"Here, you can take that, that's the final map of the numbers," the Republican president said from his desk in the Oval Office, handing out maps of the United States with areas he won marked in red. "Its pretty good, right? The red is obviously us." ............................

State Dept. wants Haley to get approval for public remarks: report

The State Department is reportedly urging U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley to get her remarks cleared with Washington before making official public statements.
According to The New York Times, an email drafted by State Department diplomats asked Haley's office to rely on pre-written building blocks when preparing for her remarks.
.............................
Haley has previously maintained that she checks with the administration about her statements. She told CNN earlier this month that President Trump "has given me a lot of leeway to just say what I think and interpret what he thinks."
"It is always coordinated with the White House ... I would never go rogue, because I'm very aware of who I work for," she said. "I'm a strong voice by nature. I'm sometimes a bull in a china shop. And, you know, he allows me to do that."

In February the investigation was reported to be focusing on settlements made with women who alleged sexual harassment by former Fox News boss Roger Ailes, and questions about whether Fox had a duty to inform shareholders about the settlement payments.
The investigators have been asking "how the shareholder money was spent; who knew; and who should have known," one of the sources said.

Investigators have been probing possible misconduct by Fox News personnel and asking questions about the overall environment at the network.
Investigators have also been asking questions about mysterious confidants of Ailes -- people who were known inside Fox as "friends of Roger." .............

Court delays EPA mercury rule case while Trump reviews
Source: The Hill
By Timothy Cama - 04/27/17 05:08 PM EDT
.....................
At issue is a rule the Obama administration wrote last year to fix a problem with the cost-benefit analysis regarding 2012 Mercury and Air Toxics Standards rule, limiting pollutants from coal-fired power plants.
.....................
The Trump administration said in requesting the delay earlier this month that it is reviewing the 2016 rule to decide if it supports it.
.................
The Environmental Defense Fund slammed Thursdays decision and the EPAs decision to review the rule.
The Mercury and Air Toxics Standards have a rock-solid foundation in the law and science, and there is no basis to weaken them, Graham McCahan, an attorney with the group, said in a statement. We fully expect these critical health protections will continue to remain in place.

"The regulation took effect in 2015 and has already been blamed for shutting down scores of coal-fired power plants."
George W Bush's ethics lawyer calls for Donald Trump's impeachment

White House refuses to hand over documents relating to former National Security Advisor's foreign payments
Samuel Osborne Thursday 27 April 2017 12:22
George W Bush's chief ethics lawyer has called for Donald Trump to be impeached if he doesn't comply with Congress's demand to release documents relating to Michael Flynn.
"US House must subpoena the docs," Richard W Painter wrote on Twitter. "If no compliance, impeach."
"Zero tolerance for WH covering up foreign payoffs."
Mr Painter was commenting on the news Mr Trump's former National Security Advisor had likely broken the law by not disclosing payments from Russia and Turkey, according to the chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
As a former military officer, you simply cannot take money from Russia, Turkey or anybody else. And it appears as if he did take that money. It was inappropriate. And there are repercussions for the violation of law, Republican representative Jason Chaffetz told reporters after a classified meeting with the committee.

Trump wanted to remind everybody in the room that he was, in fact, still president, before ditching the meeting and letting the "grown ups" deal with the national security crisis.
Trump Spent Just Five Minutes In Major Meeting About Stopping A Nuclear War With North Korea
For anyone in the country who still needs to be convinced that Donald Trump isnt interested in carrying out the responsibilities of his office, today should do the trick.
In a rare, closed-door meeting with the entire U.S. Senate regarding the increasing threat posed by North Korea, the tough-talking commander-in-chief left after just five minutes.
According to one report from ABC News, Trump gave a few opening remarks before heading back to his office to presumably watch cable news and fire off some tweets.
More from ABC News:
..............................
The meeting lasted about one hour and discussed various financial and military options available for pressuring North Korea to end its nuclear program.

Been watching msnbc. Within last hour, 3 Repugs on spouting #Trumpcare talking points. They
are given long periods of time to rattle of stats. Very little critique IMHO from hosts.
