Two states where Sanders won lopsided caucus victories have now held higher-turnout non-binding primaries. Clinton has won both of them.

Hillary Clinton Goes After Donald Trump's Business Career
by Alexandra Jaffe
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton spent Tuesday exchanging barbs over Trump's business career, perhaps their most direct clash yet and a certain sign of things to come as the two turn towards an already fierce general election fight.
The Clinton campaign launched a broadside against Trump focused on his comments throughout the early 2000s talking about his plans to profit from the housing market crash, seeking to frame them as evidence of a "pattern of Trump seeking to cash in at the expense of families," as one Clinton aide put it.
........................
Democrats hope to raise questions about Trump's business practices and intentions in order to undercut any advantage he may have among Americans on that issue.
On Monday night Clinton declared at a convention of union-members that Trump "could bankrupt America like he's bankrupted his companies." .......................

Its increasingly obvious that the national polling has tightened between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in part because Republicans coalesced behind Trump a lot faster than many anticipated (shocking, isnt it?) while Democrats have yet to unify to the same degree behind Clinton (which isnt surprising, since the Democratic primaries are not resolved yet).
So a fair amount rides on how the Clinton camp will manage the task of unifying the Democrats after winning the nomination not to mention on whether Bernie Sanders does his part. But who are the Democrats who she will need to win over?
New data from Post/ABC polling gives us an answer: The Democratic-leaning voters who view Hillary Clinton unfavorably are disproportionately young, male, white, suburban, and independent.
This weeks Post poll found that among Democrats and Dem-leaning independents, Clinton is viewed favorably by 72 percent, and viewed unfavorably by 26 percent. Post polling guru Scott Clement provided me with this breakdown of that data (click to enlarge):....................

Sanders Puerto Rico Fight Shows Limits to His Clout in Congress
Bernie Sanders is making a forceful case against House legislation on Puerto Ricos debt crisis. But if he hoped that winning millions of votes as a presidential contender would make people sit up and listen, its not working out that way.
His Senate colleagues did not mention the Vermont senator when they met behind closed doors Tuesday and discussed the Puerto Rico bill, according to Sherrod Brown of Ohio. The first House Democrat to endorse Sanders, Raul Grijalva of Arizona, was involved in the bill negotiations and has signed on to the deal. And Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday that he wants to see what the House passes before "we start choosing sides."
The bill -- and Sanders vocal opposition -- is an early test of his post-campaign clout on the progressive issues he cares about, but theres little to suggest that hell be a bigger force inside the Senate than before his campaign............

Harry Reid to HRC: "don’t pick a senator from a state with a Republican governor"

Harry Reid ready to yell and scream about VP selection process
05/24/16 12:53 PM
By Steve Benen
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is wrapping up his lengthy career at the end of this year, but that doesnt mean hes indifferent to the partisan makeup of the chamber he loves. The Nevada Democrat told MSNBCs Joy Reid that he has some advice for Hillary Clinton as she evaluates running mates: dont pick a senator from a state with a Republican governor.
If we have a Republican governor in any of those states, the answer is not only no, but hell no. I would do whatever I can, and I think most of my Democratic colleagues here would say the same thing, Reid told MSNBCs AM Joy when asked about the possibility of Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) or Sherrod Brown (Ohio) being named Clintons No. 2.
Reid added that he would yell and scream to stop that.
Its easy to understand the motivation behind Reids concerns. Democrats need to earn a net gain of five Senate seats this year to reclaim the majority, and thats no easy task. If Clinton chooses a senator from a state with a Republican governor, it may make the partys task that much more difficult.
And given some of the likely VP contenders, this is more than just a thought experiment. Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown, and Cory Booker would each bring quite a bit to a national ticket, but each of them represent states with a Republican governor, who would gladly appoint a Republican successor if any of them were promoted..........................

Clinton camp highlights Trump's past comment rooting for housing market to collapse
The Clinton campaign is out with a new media blitz, including a web video, to criticize Trump's comment in 2006 that seemed to be rooting for the housing market to collapse so he could make money. "I sort of hope that happens, because then people like me would go in and buy. If there is a bubble burst, as they call it, you know you could make a lot of money." The Washington Post: "About a dozen surrogates and local elected officials in Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida, New Hampshire, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada and elsewhere will host calls, events and release statements focused on Trump's response to the housing crisis that precipitated the economic recession.
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), will be engaged in the efforts and Ryan will host a conference call with reporters at noon Tuesday to hammer home the message. 'You don't make America great by rooting for its economy to fail,' Ryan said in a statement."
Trump vs. Clinton on the issues
Why is the Clinton camp focused on that 2006 comment? One reason is that -- at least right now -- Trump has the advantage on the economy and Wall Street, according to our latest NBC/WSJ poll.

...................... When looking at demographic support in a hypothetical November match-up, Clinton continues to enjoy a large amount of support among women, and expands her margin among this group to 18 points from 15 points last week. A slim majority 54 percent currently support her over Trump (36 percent). Trump, however, does much better among men beating Clinton by 10 points (51 percent to 41 percent).
Black voters, who traditionally vote Democrat in general elections, support Clinton by an overwhelming 82-point margin (88 percent to 6 percent). This is up 7 points from last week. Hispanics support Clinton over Trump by 35 points (64 percent to 29 percent). Trump is the preferred candidate among white voters by 14 points over Clinton (52 percent to 38 percent). These numbers are consistent with margins from last week's tracking poll. ............
