(CNN)During a wide-ranging interview with British TV host Piers Morgan, President Donald Trump touched on climate change, transgender people in the military, and much more. In his interview, Trump referenced the lengthy discussion he had with Prince Charles about climate change.

Despite saying it was a "great conversation" and that he was "moved" by Prince Charles' passion for battling climate change to protect future generations, Trump once again fell back into confusing the science of climate change and resorted to made-up tropes about it.

Here's a breakdown of what he said and how it lines up with the facts.
A change in the weather

"I believe that there is a change in weather and I think it changes both ways," Trump told Morgan. ......................................

Truckers Scorch Trump Over Economy on MSNBC: 'The American Dream's Getting Further Away'

Source: mediaite.com

By Joe DePaoloJun 5th, 2019, 4:29 pm

President Donald Trump‘s economy is not working — at least in the opinion of group of truck drivers appearing on MSNBC.

In a segment Wednesday morning on MSNBC Live, a group of eight truckers appearing in a discussion moderated by Morgan Radford, absolutely teed off on the Trump economy.

“There’s nothing that he’s doing to help us out out here in any way possible,” one driver said. “I mean, none.”

The drivers — all part of a Georgia-based protest group called Black Smoke Matters — are, according to the MSNBC report, a mix of Republicans, Democrats and Independents. Three of the eight truckers on the MSNBC panel said they voted for Trump.

Now, they are all disenchanted.............................

Russia's manipulation of Twitter was far vaster than believed

Russia's infamous troll farm conducted a campaign on Twitter before the 2016 elections that was larger, more coordinated and more effective than previously known, research from cybersecurity firm Symantec out Wednesday concluded.

The Internet Research Agency campaign may not only have had more sway — reaching large numbers of real users — than previously thought, it also demonstrated ample patience and might have generated income for some of the phony accounts, Symantec found.

The company analyzed a massive data set Twitter released in October 2018 on nearly 3,900 accounts and 10 million tweets.

The research discovered that the average lag between account creation and first tweet was 177 days. The most retweeted account garnered 6 million retweets, and less than 2,000 of those came from within the IRA-linked network of accounts. The huge delay points to a lot of patient preparation, and the retweets indicate that a lot of unaffiliated Twitter users were amplifying the IRA's message.

While most of the accounts were automated, they frequently demonstrated evidence of manual manipulation, such as slight wording changes in an apparent bid to dodge detection, according to Symantec.

"While this propaganda campaign has often been referred to as the work of trolls, the release of the dataset makes it obvious that it was far more than that," the company wrote. "It was planned months in advance and the operators had the resources to create and manage a vast disinformation network."

The Hill's Morning Report - Tariff battle looms as Trump jabs 'foolish' Senate GOP

Source: the hill

By Alexis Simendinger and Al Weaver - 06/05/19 06:22 AM EDT

The threat of tariffs has roiled Senate Republicans as they race to thwart a new round of tariffs on Mexico by Monday and walk a tightrope in hopes of not angering President Trump.

After Trump dared Senate Republicans to try to block his plan to impose tariffs on exports from Mexico, calling the move “foolish,” lawmakers warned administration officials that if Trump does not pull back the curtain on potential 5 percent tariffs on Mexico by Monday, a vote on a disapproval resolution will likely take place that would block the tariffs, according to Alexander Bolton and Jordain Carney.

One lawmaker noted that 12 Republican senators voted in March to disapprove of Trump’s use of a national emergency declaration to shift Defense Department funds to construction of a border wall, with 67 needed in total to block a presidential veto.....................

EPA Chief Andrew Wheeler: It's The Media's Fault People Are So Worried About# ClimateChange!

The media needs to do MORE Mr. Wheeler!

EPA Chief: It’s The Media’s Fault People Are So Worried About Climate Change!

June 4, 2019 3:34 pm

Environmental Protection Agency administrator Andrew Wheeler on Monday blamed the media for the public’s growing concern over climate change.

While Wheeler was giving a speech at the National Press Club, he argued the press needs to help “fix” Americans’ “perception” that the environment is getting worse.

“The media does a disservice to the public by not informing the public of the progress this nation has made,” the EPA chief said as he rattled off some statistics indicating that the U.S. has decreased its pollution levels over the past several decades.

It’s true that air pollution in the U.S. has decreased, according to NASA scientists.

However, the earth’s carbon dioxide levels are at a record high, ocean levels are rising due to melting ice glaciers, and millions of people worldwide have been affected by extreme weather patterns caused by global warming.

And to top it all off, a new report by the Breakthrough National Center for Climate Restoration predicts that human civilization could collapse by 2050 if climate change isn’t stopped in time.

British woman stabs Trump baby balloon while shouting he 'is the best president ever'

Source: the hill

By Jessica Campisi - 06/04/19 03:35 PM EDT

The Trump baby blimp, which took flight in London on Tuesday to protest the president’s U.K. visit, was reportedly stabbed by Trump supporter Amy Dalla Mura, also known as “Based Amy.”

In a video posted to Twitter, Mura films herself walking up to the nearly 20-foot-tall orange, inflatable baby blimp and stabs it with a sharp object, prompting shouts from surrounding protesters.

“That’s a disgrace,” Mura shouts. “It’s a national disgrace. The president of the United States is the best president ever!”

Shortly before police arrive, Mura films herself walking away from the blimp, encouraging bystanders around her to take a look at what she’s done.

“I think Donald Trump’s balloon is not very well. I think it’s going down rapidly for a reason,” she says.

A spokesman for Trump Baby UK told The Independent that “a woman … punctured the mini Trump baby replica with a sharp object,” adding that “it’s not surprising that the far right would want to meet freedom of expression with violence.”..................................

DOJ says it will resume talks with Judiciary panel if House delays contempt vote

Source: the hill

By Morgan Chalfant - 06/04/19 06:18 PM EDT

The Justice Department has offered to renew negotiations with the House Judiciary Committee over the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report and underlying evidence if the lower chamber cancels a scheduled vote to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress next week.

In a letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) Tuesday, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd wrote the Justice Department is “prepared to resume negotiations” with the committee on a narrowed request for Mueller’s materials in the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election “provided that the Committee takes reasonable steps to restore the status quo ante by mooting its May 8 vote and removing any threat of an imminent vote by the House of Representatives to hold the Attorney General in contempt.”

Boyd cited what he described as a willingness expressed by the committee in previous correspondence to narrow the scope of the subpoena.................................

............................

House leaders on Monday scheduled a vote to hold Barr in contempt of Congress on June 11 for failing to comply with a subpoena for the full, unredacted Mueller report as well as its underlying evidence.

It is unclear whether the Justice Department’s offer Tuesday will stave off the vote. The committee has not yet responded to the department.......................................................

Whenever you're on the verge of feeling sorry for Melania, for the boorish way her "husband" treats

I have been away camping for a bit and have not heard anything about this---whatever it is--or if it is.
That said--I have never felt sorry for Melania.

Whenever you're on the verge of feeling sorry for Melania, for the boorish way her "husband" treats her, watch THIS video for a reminder of her HATEFUL defense of Birtherism against President Obama. And she NEVER apologized. She deserves NO pity.

Trump: “Where are the protests? I don’t see any protests. I did see a small protest today when I came, very small. So a lot of it is fake news, I hate to say.” The only fake news is you @realDonaldTrump. The #TrumpProtest was not small. It was HUGE!
