If Donald Trump’s first speech today after the conclusion of the two national conventions was a good indicator of where he intends to take his general election campaign for the rest of the summer, that direction is just as confusing as when the day began. Trump held an event in Colorado in which he more or less rambled about random topics with little coherency or sentence structure. At one point, after he began bragging about how he hires illiterate contractors, CNN finally felt compelled to pull the plug.

“Some of the richest people in this country are people that can’t even read or write,” Donald Trump told an audience of supporters while insisting that he could have built a local hospital more quickly than it had been built. “They’re called friends of mine. Contractors.” In case Trump hand’t made sufficiently clear that he was attempting to insult his own friends and the people he hires, or in case anyone might have thought that he misspoke when he accused them of being illiterate people, he made a point of repeating himself: “They might not read or write, but they’re a lot smarter than the guys coming out of Harvard, let me tell you.”

Trump attempted to follow this up by beginning to ramble about Swedish people at the United Nations, but before he could tell the story, CNN cut him off. “We’re going to continue to monitor Donald Trump and get back to him once he gets into some more substance,” interrupted Wolf Blitzer while cutting away to Senator Dianne Feinstein instead...............

Melania Trump’s professional website has disappeared from the Internet.

The deletion of www.melaniatrump.com and subsequent redirect to the Trump Organization’s webpage was first reported by The Huffington Post.

It after questions were raised about whether she actually finished her degree at the University of Ljubljana (her personal website said she got a degree in architecture) but a biography about her said she never finished.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to questions about whether she did graduate. However, Trump posted a statement on her own Twitter on Wednesday afternoon about the removal of the website.

Hillary Clinton has accepted the Democratic party's presidential nomination Thursday night in Philadelphia, making history as the first woman to be chosen to run for the highest office in the land by a major party in the United States.

"Today, we've reached a milestone in our nation's march toward a more perfect union: The first time that a major party has nominated a woman for President," Clinton said. "Standing here as my mother's daughter's, and my daughter's mother, I'm so happy this day has come."

"Happy for grandmothers and little girls and everyone in between. Happy for boys and men, too, because when any barrier falls in America, for anyone, it clears the way for everyone," she continued. "When there are no ceilings, the sky's the limit."

Clinton was clearly emotional as she walked on stage, and said: "I'm so happy this day has come." .......................

A poll released Thursday showed Hillary Clinton with a solid lead over Donald Trump among likely Pennsylvania voters, potential cheering news for the Democrats as Clinton prepared to accept her historic nomination at the national convention.

In a head-to-head matchup in the Suffolk University survey, Clinton ran ahead of Trump, 50 percent to 41 percent, with 8 percent undecided.

With two minor party candidates included in the mix, her lead is 46 percent to 37 percent for Trump. Libertarian Gary Johnson is backed by 5 percent, with Green candidate Jill Stein pulling 3 percent.....................

Melania Trump’s professional website has disappeared from the Internet.

The deletion of www.melaniatrump.com and subsequent redirect to the Trump Organization’s webpage was first reported by The Huffington Post.

It after questions were raised about whether she actually finished her degree at the University of Ljubljana (her personal website said she got a degree in architecture) but a biography about her said she never finished.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to questions about whether she did graduate. However, Trump posted a statement on her own Twitter on Wednesday afternoon about the removal of the website.

Trump walks back email hack comments, but damage lingers

(CNN)Donald Trump said Thursday that he was being sarcastic when he appeared to suggest that Russia should use espionage to find Hillary Clinton's deleted emails.

But he's finding out that presidents -- and by extension, presidential nominees -- don't get that luxury when the topic is national security.

The GOP nominee tried to dampen controversy over his apparent call Wednesday for Russia to either stage an espionage cyber hack to find Clinton's deleted emails or to publish information it had already stolen.

"Of course I'm being sarcastic," Trump said in a Fox News interview that aired the day after his comments at a news conference in Florida sparked a national furor and offered ammunition for Democrats who claim he's not fit to be president................
