Trump says he didn't discuss hacked emails with Roger Stone. A bipartisan Senate report says he did

The report says the Intelligence Committee assessed that Trump discussed hacked emails with Stone — even though Trump told Robert Mueller he didn't recall doing so.

WASHINGTON — In a thousand-page bipartisan report released Tuesday, the Senate Intelligence Committee painted a stark portrait of a Trump campaign eager to accept help from a foreign power in 2016, as well as a candidate closely involved in the effort.

The Senate report, the most detailed account to date of the Trump campaign's embrace of Russian election interference, also asserted that the allegations that Ukraine interfered in the election — which President Donald Trump perpetuated — originated with Russian intelligence agencies.

The report, which the committee's Republican majority approved, said the committee assessed that the president discussed hacked emails with his longtime associate Roger Stone — even though Trump told special counsel Robert Mueller that he didn't recall having done so.

The report highlighted some never-before-seen evidence about Trump and Russia, including three allegations of potentially compromising material relating to Trump's private trips to Russia that were unconnected to the dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

................

The committee endorsed the view of Mueller and the Stone prosecution team that the Trump campaign eagerly embraced Russian help in 2016 and considered the hacked emails its "October surprise," even though campaign officials knew the material had been stolen by Russian intelligence................................

Former senior Trump administration official endorses Joe Biden

(CNN)Miles Taylor, a former senior Trump administration official, endorsed Joe Biden's presidential campaign on Monday, becoming one of the highest-ranking former Trump administration officials to do so.

Taylor, who served as chief of staff to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, also accused President Donald Trump of repeatedly using his office for political purposes, including directing officials to cut wildfire relief funding to California because voters there overwhelmingly opposed him in 2016.

Taylor, a longtime Republican and political appointee at DHS from 2017 to 2019, endorsed the former vice president in a video produced by the group Republican Voters Against Trump in which he also made several allegations about Trump's conduct. He also wrote an op-ed published in The Washington Post calling the President "dangerous" for America.

"What we saw week in and week out, for me, after two and a half years in that administration, was terrifying. We would go in to try to talk to him about a pressing national security issue -- cyberattack, terrorism threat -- he wasn't interested in those things. To him, they weren't priorities," Taylor says in the video.

"Given what I have experienced in the administration, I have to support Joe Biden for president and even though I am not a Democrat, even though I disagree on key issues, I'm confident that Joe Biden will protect the country and I'm confident that he won't make the same mistakes as this President." ..............................

It didn’t take long for President Trump to hit back at Michelle Obama after the former first lady, in a searing speech for the Democratic National Convention on Monday, made the case for why he’s simply not up to the job.

But Trump’s attempt to stick up for himself instantly backfired when he criticized Obama for pre-recording the video of her speech. “It was not only taped,” Trump complained, “it was taped a long time ago because she had the wrong [coronavirus] deaths.”

He’s technically correct here, but that’s not a good thing. Obama, who said there were more than 150,000 US deaths from the coronavirus pandemic, was referring to a number that by Monday had become outdated. The death toll has now surpassed 170,000. Trump apparently wanted to remind everyone that more Americans have died from the coronavirus under his watch than a political opponent had given him credit him for. “She gets these fawning reviews,” Trump continued. “If you gave her a real review, it wouldn’t be so fawning.”...........................................

Guilty of nothing: Lt. Gov. Hochul says Susan B. Anthony doesn't need a pardon

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) ..............

.........................

Anthony is best known for her role in the movement to secure voting rights for women. Trump said he would sign “a full and complete pardon” on Tuesday, the 100-year anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which ensured women the right to vote. It’s also known as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment.

“I was deeply troubled to learn that Trump went ahead and treated her like a criminal,” Hochul said. “Susan B. Anthony was guilty of nothing.”

From the Susan B. Anthony House, the lieutenant governor said they are demanding the president rescind his pardon.

“She was proud of her arrest to draw attention to the cause for women’s rights, and never paid her fine. Let her Rest in Peace,” Hochul said. “I stopped a long time trying to figure out why he does what he does, but this was not to honor her. I don’t know why he did what he did but I assure you it was not with the best interest of the public at heart.”

I agree. Trump is shameless and is using the anniversary for his political gain. AGAIN.

25% of homes in Laurel County don't have internet access.

That's unacceptable.

How can we expect businesses to come to KY if we can't talk to the modern world? I'll invest in 21st century infrastructure in the Senate. We NEED it for our economic future.
