riversedge's JournalTweety actually made me laugh. He was laughing so hard at something a panel
member was saying. They were talking about the presser and Donald hitting on Hillary so many times--the reset button -re-litigating the past Anyway this panel member started out with===He reminded me of someone telling a story "Did I ever tell you about........." (some story at is repeated over and over by that person). Anyway Tweety started laughing and it was contagious.
Did anyone hear Donald today say his 5pm Sat rally will be 'massive"?? I thought I
heard him say that--but others in room and only could some of that because of the chatter.

Time for Congress to Investigate Mr. Trumps Ties to Russia

In history, this is where Congress steps in. During the Vietnam War, Watergate and the Iran-contra scandal, when a presidents actions or policies crossed the line, Congress investigated and held the White House to account. The time has come for it to do so again.
In the last week alone, Americans have witnessed the firing of President Trumps national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and learned with shock and incredulity that members of Mr. Trumps campaign and inner circle were in repeated contact with Russian intelligence officials.
Coming on top of credible information from Americas intelligence agencies that Russia tried to destabilize and influence the 2016 presidential campaign, these latest revelations are more than sufficient reason for Congress to investigate what Moscow has been up to and whether people at the highest levels of the United States government have aided and abetted the interests of a nation that has tried to thwart American foreign policy since the Cold War.
Given that context, one might expect Mr. Trump to be clamoring for details that would eliminate any suspicion that his administration is in league with an enemy. Instead he has waged an unhinged attack on the intelligence agencies themselves, praising President Vladimir Putin of Russia at every turn and pointing fingers everywhere but at himself, while refusing to take a single step to resolve questions about his administrations ties to Russia.................

WASHINGTON Congressional Republicans, who craved unified control of the government to secure their aggressive conservative agenda, have instead found themselves on a legislative elliptical trainer, gliding toward nowhere.
After moving to start rolling back the Affordable Care Act just days after President Trump was sworn in last month, Republican lawmakers and Mr. Trump have yet to deliver on any of the sweeping legislation they promised. Efforts to come up with a replacement for the health care law have been stymied by disagreements among Republicans about how to proceed. The same is true for a proposed overhaul of the tax code.
The large infrastructure bill that both Democrats and Mr. Trump were eager to pursue has barely been mentioned, other than a very general hearing to discuss well-documented needs for infrastructure improvements. Even a simple emergency spending bill that the Trump administration promised weeks ago which was expected to include a proposal for his wall on the Mexican border has not materialized, leaving appropriators idle and checking Twitter.
At this point in Barack Obamas presidency, when Democrats controlled Washington, Congress had passed a stimulus bill totaling nearly $1 trillion to address the financial crisis, approved a measure preventing pay discrimination, expanded a childrens health insurance program, and begun laying the groundwork for major health care and financial regulation bills. President George W. Bush came into office with a congressional blueprint for his signature education act, No Child Left Behind.

DC preps for 'Day Without Immigrants,' but Hill takes little notice

Story highlights
Thursday's planned protest is the first such event in the nation's capital
The impact may be felt if policymakers try to eat at hot spots around town Thursday
Washington (CNN)Washington, DC, restaurants and schools are preparing for a "Day Without Immigrants" protest Thursday, but so far, policymakers who live in the nation's capital haven't taken much notice.
Immigrants and supporters are planning to strike Thursday in a protest loosely organized by social media and word of mouth. The goal is to demonstrate the importance of immigrants to society, as the Trump administration continues to pursue hard-line enforcement policies that advocates fear will disrupt communities and the economy.
Restaurants in the DC area were planning to operate with short staff, offer menus in solidarity with striking immigrants and in some cases, close altogether.
Celebrity chef José Andrés, who is locked in a lawsuit with President Donald Trump for pulling his restaurant from the Trump hotel project in Washington over Trump's anti-undocumented immigrant rhetoric, announced he would close most of his restaurants Thursday as part of the protest.
The Trump International Hotel did not respond to a request for comment on its plans for Thursday.
Schools were preparing as well. A bilingual charter school in Northwest DC planned to close, and DC public schools were preparing for possible walkouts.
Similar actions have taken place in other cities. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was the site of a similar protest this week, and bodegas in New York closed earlier this month in protest of Trump's travel ban executive order...............

White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said Wednesday that he was "livid" with Breitbart News for publishing a report suggesting that President Donald Trump's chief of staff Reince Priebus could lose his job.
Bannon, who took a leave of absence from his role as Breitbart News chairman to serve as Trump's campaign CEO, told CNN that he was "not upset livid."
Breitbart News published the report by Matthew Boyle, titled "As Flynn Resigns, Priebus Future In Doubt As Trump Allies Circulate List of Alternate Chief of Staff Candidates," on Tuesday after White House national security adviser Michael Flynn stepped down.
