If it isn't a discussion worthy topic, based on laissez-faire replies, why are there so many scholarly articles on the subject?

Nothing is worse than having sex with someone you neither love, care for, like nor respect. Especially if you don't like the person to start with (or never did) and this kind of sex, which becomes work, happens in billions of boudoirs every day, worldwide. None of those conditions; like, love or caring, are required to turn the sex into work or exclude it from the definition of work.
The condition of the equitable position of power is the only condition that really matters the most in the definition of work. Plus, I would venture to guess there's more sex being had that falls into the 'work' category than the 'not work' category, and that's just a sad, unsexy fact.

New Bill by NCGA Idiots Claims Gay Marriage Is a Religion, Attempts to Ban It
BY LEIGH TAUSS FEB. 14, 2019 3:29 P.M.
What better Valentines Day gift to North Carolinas LGTBQ residents than the bill filed in the North Carolina House Wednesday asserting that gay marriage is a parody and a religion and therefore shouldnt be recognized as valid.
Similar bills have been filed in Kansas and Tennessee. North Carolinas House Bill 65, filed Wednesday by Republican state representatives Mark Brody, Keith Kidwell, and Confederate-loving Lincoln-hater Larry Pittman, attempts to declare null and void the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision Obergefell vs. Hodges, which guaranteed same-sex couples the right to wed in 2015.
The bill asserts that, while gay marriage is inseparably part of the religion of Secular Humanism, straight marriage is the only model for marriage that simply follows the scientifically obvious biology of human beings. Though opposition to gay marriage strongly correlates to conservative religious traditions, the bill's backers claim that marriage between a man and a woman arose out of the nature of the human species, and marriage between a man and a woman is natural, uncontrived, and noncontroversial, unlike forms of marriage that do not involve a man and a woman.
Oh yes, it gets better: Obergefell v. Hodges in effect has imposed the views of Secular Humanism on the People and the States of these United States in the matter of marriage law, which authority is not given to the federal government in the United States Constitution, and is, therefore, an unconstitutional establishment of religion and also an unconstitutional usurpation by the United States Supreme Court of powers reserved to the People or to the States.
Hurd says 1,000 Texas farmers could have land seized to build Trump's border wall
BY CAMILO MONTOYA-GALVEZ
UPDATED ON: FEBRUARY 17, 2019 / 1:20 PM / CBS NEWS
Texas Rep. Will Hurd, the sole Republican representing a congressional district along the southern border, said more than 1,000 farmers in his state are at risk of having their land seized by the federal government to facilitate the construction of President Trump's long-promised wall.
"In the great state of Texas, we care about a little thing called private property, and there's going to be over 1,000 ranchers and farmers potentially impacted if the government comes in and takes their land," Hurd said on "Face the Nation" Sunday.
To build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, the Trump administration will likely attempt to seize private property along the frontier using the power of eminent domain, which allows the government to trigger a process to buy and ultimately acquire private land for public use. "What we're doing with eminent domain is, in many cases, we'll make a deal up front. We've already done that. The secretary has done a lot of that," the president told reporters in January, offering no specifics to support the claim. "And if we can't make a deal, we take the land and we pay them through a court process. Which goes actually fairly quickly. And we're generous. But we take the land. Otherwise you could never build anything. If you didn't use eminent domain, you wouldn't have one highway in this country. You have to use eminent domain."
But Hurd said the strategy will surely be resisted by some landowners and force the government into a prolonged legal battle.

Thanks for asking TEB.♡ Readiness is my middle name.
Being in hurricane land there's always an ample supply of water, batteries, flashlights, easily prepared food, drinks, ice and in this case extra blankets, just in case the power goes out. Prepped battery pack for the mobile and extra food for the fur babies. Manual can opener. Full tank of gas, oil lamps, oil, candles. Just as a bonus I decided to cook a roast with lots of good veggies and have adult beverages at the ready, just in case. So as with most states of emergency, I'm good. If it gets too rough I may have to bake cookies, though.
Almost unflappable. Worst case scenario, I'll take a nap.
Hopefully you and yours will make it through. Hang in there!

During the screening of her documentary at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival,[34] Jones revealed that her cancer had returned,[35] and that she would be undergoing chemotherapy again.[36] She suffered a stroke while watching the 2016 United States presidential election results and another the following day.[37] Jones remained alert and lucid during the initial period of her hospital stay, jokingly claiming that the news of Donald Trump's victory was responsible for her stroke.[38][39]
