Covid Variants vs. Corona Virus Vaccines ...

AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson plus Immunity

Medcram.com interview

Video Duration 54:24
Recorded March 23, 2021

Virologist, Shane Crotty, PhD
https://www.lji.org/labs/crotty/#overview

Shane Crotty, Ph.D., and his team study immunity against infectious diseases. They investigate how the immune system remembers infections and vaccines. By remembering infections and vaccines, the body is protected from becoming infected in the future. Vaccines are one of the most cost-effective medical treatments in modern civilization and are responsible for saving millions of lives. Yet, good vaccines are very difficult to design, and very few new vaccines have been made in the past 10 years. A better understanding of immune memory will facilitate the ability to make new vaccines. Dr. Tony Fauci, NIH, referred to some of the Crotty lab work as “exceedingly important to the field of immunogen design.”

The stranded Ever Given mega-container ship in the Suez Canal is holding up an estimated $9.6bn (£7bn) of goods each day, according to shipping data.

This works out at $400m an hour in trade along the waterway which is a vital passageway between east and west.

Data from shipping expert Lloyd's List values the canal's westbound traffic at roughly $5.1bn a day, and eastbound traffic at around $4.5bn a day.

Despite efforts to free the ship, it could take weeks to remove experts say.

North Carolina to open COVID vaccines to all adults April 7

By BRYAN ANDERSON

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — All North Carolinians who are at least 16 years old will qualify for a COVID-19 vaccine April 7, state health officials and Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper announced Thursday. Meanwhile, essential workers not yet vaccinated can get their shot starting March 31.

Snip...

Nearly one in three North Carolina adults have been at least partially vaccinated since the state first began administering doses in December 2020, according to data from the state Department of Health and Human Services.

Residents who are at least 16 years old can get a Pfizer vaccine, while those 18 or older are eligible for a Moderna shot or single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. J&J supply has been very limited over the last three weeks but is expected to rapidly increase in the weeks ahead.

Cooper announced this week the state will relax gathering and occupancy limits on individuals and businesses starting Friday, given that cases, hospitalizations and deaths have fallen over the last month.

NC Extends Tax Filing, Payment Deadline to May 17th

NORTH CAROLINA EXTENDS TAX FILING, PAYMENT DEADLINE TO MAY 17
Thursday, March 18, 2021 8:39PM ET

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- North Carolinians looking to file taxes will have about a little more than a month worth of extra time to prepare their taxes. In conjunction with the IRS announcement to extend the federal tax filing date, the state Department of Revenue will also extend its April 15 tax filing and payment deadline to May 17.
As long as North Carolinians file their taxes before May 17, the state will not charge penalties.

However, unless state law is changed, tax payments received after April 15 will be charged interest and will accrue until the date of payment. The deadline extension only applies to individual income tax returns due April 16 and does not apply to trust taxes such as sales and use or withholding taxes or estimated tax payments due April 15, 2021.

The IRS announced on Wednesday that it was delaying the traditional tax filing deadline from April 15 until May 17.

The IRS said taxpayers who owe money would not face any further penalties or interest if they pay by May 17. The new deadline also applies to individuals who pay self-employment tax.

DR. B: new startup working to connect soon-to-be wasted vaccine doses with standby recipients.

The Verge covers Dr. B, the new startup working to connect soon-to-be wasted vaccine doses with standby recipients.

The site: https://hidrb.com/ has users fill out their home zip code and a basic questionnaire to help determine where they fall within state eligibility tiers. When a provider has extra thawed doses, which must be administered within six hours, Dr. B texts nearby participants while giving priority according to local health guidelines.

Since Dr. B has access to granular health information on each participant, the site could help distribute leftover vaccines directly to the most vulnerable. The service is currently operating only for sites in New York and Arkansas, but is vetting over 200 providers across the country.

About littlemissmartypants

I read voraciously and fast with high comprehension. I love to learn and share. But I will never, ever post anything in LBN again because someone always seems to find fault with my posts. I've had too many locked for stupid reasons to ever take LBN seriously ever again. I now just trash it. Which is a shame since there are individuals who are regular posters there that I love. I just send all not truly LBN and LBN dupes to the Trash from now on. No need to even bother any hosts with those anymore. Using Ignore and Trash are proving to be much easier and better options for me than trying to engage and attempt to make LBN a better place. I'm also getting tired of this place looking like the Trump Underground. Trashing every iteration of the surname and all of the clever nicknames people have created make it virtually impossible not to see posts about the psychopath that is the Republican party's preferred presidential candidate. Oh, well. GOTV!
