Reporting in the Bernie Group -For Group Violations

Please help the hosts out.

There is no way to report to group hosts on replies. With Senator Sanders becoming more and more popular, we can expect more and more posters coming to disrupt threads, I am afraid.

Often times people may not realize they're not in GD/GD-P. In that case, a warning will usually suffice. I believe that the majority of people on DU respect the group's SoP. However, occasionally, that's not the case

If you see a reply that you feel violates the SoP of the group, but not worthy of going to a jury, please do the following:

Alert on the OP with the "This discussion thread is off-topic, or violates the Statement of Purpose for this group" This option is not available for replies.

If your alert is for a reply and not for the OP, make sure you note in the comments, that you are
NOT alerting on the OP and put the reply number you want looked at by the hosts.

This will send an email to the hosts. It won't go to a jury. That way, the hosts that are online will be able to look at the issue without you having to go to each host to find out if they're around.

You can't alert on your own OP though. So you will have to do it via private message.

We try to monitor everything but we're growing daily. Already over 29,000 posts in the group!

Thanks to merrily for this great idea!

Finally, if you want the post to go to a jury, by all means, alert normally.

Thanks everyone! #GoBernie #Bernie2016

On edit: we discovered that the alert does NOT go to the author of the OP.

Skinner fixed the issue when only one alert can be sent on an OP. All alerts now go through to the hosts. But remember, you can't alert on your own OP.

I believe that if an OP has been sent to a jury, however, you will only receive a "send message to Administer" instead of the alert options."

Thanks for all your cooperation. This has been extremely helpful to us hosts!
