JoanofArgh's JournalDaniel Dale tweets Trump's latest shit show
https://twitter.com/ddale8/status/1296532001521111044Trump starts in Pennsylvania by talking about all he's had to go through and then making his usual false claim that Obama was caught spying on his campaign
Trump says the Green New Deal, which proposes massive investments in environmental initiatives, would cause "debt and death." He does not explain the "death" part.
As part of a scaremongering segment, Trump warns people that Democrats want to put up windmills (wind turbines) and you'll look out your window and see a "big monster churning."
Trump falsely says his nonsense that Democrats want to "abolish the suburbs," then exaggerates by saying Cuomo abolished cash bail in New York. (It was ended for some offenses but kept for most violent crimes.)
Trump falsely says he just saw a report that Biden hasn't taken questions from reporters since July 17. Biden did a formal press conference-style event on July 28, sat down with Black and Latino journalists in early August, has taken assorted other questions.
Trump tells his story about how Obama thought there would be a war with North Korea and without him, Trump, that war would've happened, and tens of millions would've died. (All we know is that Obama told Trump something like that North Korea was one of the toughest problems.)
Hmm...Trump says If you want a vision of your life under a Joe Biden presidency, imagine the smoldering ruins of Minneapolis, the violent anarchy of Portland and the bloodstained sidewalks of Chicago coming to every city in America.
But those things happened under him?
Trump says Biden always says he was born in Scranton, but Biden actually left as a child (Biden does not hide this). Trump says, "I view it differently: he wasn't born here, he ABANDONED Scranton." He concedes, "His family had something to do with that."
Trump with his usual complete nonsense: "The only way they're gonna win is by a rigged election. I really believe that. I saw the crowd outside."
Trump: "In New Jersey, 20% of the ballots were defective, fraudulent." He is talking about *one city council election in Paterson, New Jersey,* not the whole state, in which there is suspected fraud and about 20% of ballots were rejected for one reason or another
Trump boasts 14K manufacturing jobs were added in PA in his first three years. He doesn't explicitly mention that they have all been lost in the fourth year and that the total is now lower than it has been in decades, but adds, "We'll catch all of those jobs that were lost."
Trump says people used to tout New Zealand but they "had a massive breakout yesterday."
New Zealand reported six cases yesterday. The US reported 47,408.
Trump denounces Pennsylvania's Democratic governor Tom Wolf as "Shutdown Wolf" for his pandemic restrictions. He then adds, "He can't do this. He's going to destroy your soul."
Trump on Pennsylvania: "This wonderful incredible commonwealth. Right? I would call it a commonwealth. You ever mind if they call it a state? No. Call it commonwealth. Whatever the hell, you want to open it up."

Natasha Bertrand Twitter thread on some details from the intelligence report
https://twitter.com/NatashaBertrand/status/1295710499322159104JUST OUT: Volume 5 of the Senate Intelligence Committee's Russia report, focused on counterintelligence threats and vulnerabilities. It's 966 pages long. https://intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/report_volume5.pdf
Here's a summary of a document that Michael Flynn sent to KT McFarland in January 2017 that "originated with a close associate of a Kremlin insider," per the committee, and that the WH counsel's office wanted to withhold, citing executive privilege.
"As this experience illustrated, White House intervention significantly hampered and prolonged the Committee's investigative effort," report says. "Most importantly, some witnesses were directed by the White House not to tum over potentially privileged information..."
Wow--SSCI goes further than Mueller did in describing Konstantin Kilimnik's relationship with Russian intelligence. "Kilimnik is a Russian intelligence officer," the report says. kilimnik was Manafort's longtime business associate. (pg 28)
Police cars revolving light "Some evidence suggests Kilimnik may be connected to the GRU hack-and-leak operation related to the 2016 U.S. election. This assessment is based on a body of fragmentary information." (pg. 85)
...Two pieces of information, however, raise the possibility of Manaforts potential connection to the hack-and-leak operations." Rest is redacted. (Pg 89)
The report says Kilimnik, who SSCI identified as a Russian intelligence officer, "almost certainly helped arrange some of the first public messaging that Ukraine had interfered in the U.S. election." (pg. 108)
The report confirms my reporting from December that the panel found scant if any evidence of Ukrainian interference. "The Committee identified no reliable evidence that the Ukrainian government interfered in the 2016 election," it says (pg 108)
"In August 2016, following the Campaign's tasking, Stone obtained information indicating that John Podesta would be a target of an upcoming release, prior to WikiLeaks
releasing Podesta's emails on October 7. Stone then communicated this information to Trump..." (173)
WikiLeaks/Assange has long maintained Russia was not the source of the hacked Democratic materials. But the committee says it "found significant evidence to suggest that, in the summer of 2016, WikiLeaks
was knowingly collaborating with Russian government officials. (208)
Umm...why was Roger Stone drafting pro-Russia tweets for Trump in July 2016, as he was teasing more WikiLeaks dumps?
"Many of the draft tweets ... mentioned a new
peace deal with Putin, such as "I want a new detente with Russia under Putin."
Some details about the day of the Access Hollywood tape/Podesta emails release: Trump campaign team heard about the tape an hour before its release. Stone told Corsi to get Assange to "drop the Podesta emails immediately." WikiLeaks did so 30 min after tape published. (249)
Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, of Trump Tower meeting fame, "has significant and concerning connections to Russian government and·intel officials, and has not been forthcoming about those relationships," the report alleges. Next 4 pages are redacted. (337)
Michael Cohen
said that after he was indicted in SDNY, "he discussed a potential pardon for himself with Jay Sekulow more than half a dozen times. Cohen further stated that he understood the pardon discussions had come from Trump through Sekulow. (463)
A memo written to Steve Bannon in December 2016 by Bob Foresman, a banker w/deep ties to Russia who is discussed in the Mueller report, "offered advice for structuring the National Security Council so that Russia was a main focus of the council." (741)
Per the report, after submitting that memo, Foresman met with Flynn. Foresman then met w/Russian banker Sergey Gorkov, who relayed Trump team's message to Putin about a desire for better relations. Recall Gorkov held a secret meeting w/Kushner in Dec 2016.

Dear Democrats - and particularly Florida Democrats, can you pull up a chair for a second? We need to have a little chat about voting, and specifically vote by mail ballots.
I understand everyone's concerns about this election, especially given Trump's admissions regarding the USPS. Yes we should raise Hell. Yes we should push Congress to step in. Yes we should double down on voter protection efforts. But what we can't do: play into their game 2/
Trump and his campaign want people to believe their vote is at risk. They want people to lose confidence. They know that if you are reading this, you are going to vote regardless -- but they want your less active friends to believe their vote doesn't matter. 3/
Voter confidence is a fickle thing. When we started in Florida in 08, we had real issues getting people to vote by mail. People had real scars from 2000 here. Republicans added to the issues by adding a voter ID law. There was a lot of anxiety around voting. 4/
We knew we had to build confidence. Remind people they could vote other ways if they didn't want to vote by mail. Teach people how to get an ID if they didn't have one. Put poll watchers in polls - give people a sense we had their back & their vote would count. 5/
So if you want to vote by mail -- you should and so should your friends. Tell them to do this:
1. Request it now.
2. Return it immediately. Why they heck would you wait?
3. Track it online.
In every battleground state, you can track your ballot online. So do that. 6/
If your friends want to vote from home, but are worried about mailing back their ballot. Tell them.
1. Request it now.
2. Vote immediately upon receipt.
3. Go to their local SOE website on where/how to drop off.
If you or your friends want to vote in person, that's great too. Remind them that there are a lot of groups working with states and local communities to ensure proper sanitation and health standards.
Go to http://iwillvote.com to learn your options. 8/
But the point is this - we can't let them win the game of crushing voter confidence. That is absolutely how Trump will win. You want to win - tune all the bull shit out and remind folks that if we blow this out, none of the other stuff will matter.
Remember the words of John Lewis: "We cannot give up now, we cannot give up. We must keep the faith, keep our eyes on the prize. We must go out and vote like we never, ever voted before...We must use the vote as a nonviolent instrument or tool to redeem the soul of America.
All bullshit is now getting tuned out.
