DUers need to know

that this is not a public university funded by the state of Colorado or the city of Denver.

Big difference in partisanship of a private college which would make Christopher Hill its president and perhsps espouse partisan views and values and a public university which should clearly be more careful whom it recognizes with honorifics.

University of Denver is a private university,

nonsectarian founded by Methodists, according to Wikipedia.

Make it a point to get a good night's rest and

get to your first class with time to spare.
Try to organize your materials so that there's no last minute searching.
Eat a good breakfast and a nutritious lunch.

Sounds pretty basic, huh?
Nut these everyday living items work just as well at the university level as they did years ago.

Good luck, and enjoy yourself.
Smile!

Telemarketers can be especially difficult for disabled or elderly

who have to get up from their chair, walk across the room, only to hear "How are you today?" from someone they don't wish to talk with.

I happen to keep very late hours, and to sleep late, but I have been awakened before 9 a.m. by either telemarketers or solicitors, and needless to say, it's hard to get back to sleep for that last hour of needed deep sleep.
It's said that many seniors welcome the chance to talk with someone, but, thank goodness, I'm not that hard up for conversation.

Go for it!

Hope you're ready for the inevitable push-back.

That's what the ignore column is for

I would get upset with some of the bigotry I read on the Religion forum, until I discovered the "ignore". column and filled it up with the most consistently hateful DUers. I don't object to civil disagreements, but the ones I'm referring to were not.
I use the past tense, because they are no longer a part of my life.

Tonight, for the first time, I blocked the Facebook comments of a young, distantly-connected relative because of her nasty anti-Obama posting. There comes a time when you've had enough, and that was tonight.

Have a good evening, all.

KVOD 88.1

A classical FM station I found online and play online while browsing around.
It's in Colorado, and I'm in Ohio.

Her secret - al least part of it-

Good genes.
Also, apparently, the ability to enjoy life.
Hope you've inherited both.
