No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalIsn't Sen. Joe Donnelly from South Bend? And the current Mayor of South Bend
is considered an up-and-coming Dem. star, I believe.
Many years ago, I vacationed at Crystal Lake; we were there when Elvis died - a good way to remember the timing. We also went to a nearby town to a car museum.
I've also gone to the Ft. Wayne Library for genealogical purposes. - That Library is well known for their genealogical collection.
Ryan's intention is to stay until the next Congress convenes in Jan. 2019, though he may leave
before then, particularly if/when the Dems win the House.
Then, you ask, who will be next?
Maybe Ms. Pelosi, maybe Tim Ryan, maybe Steny Hoyer, or maybe a star not yet recognized.
Right now I'd be happy with most anyone from the Dem. side of the House, though, obviously, some would be better than others.
Well, the Dem. Governor of Louisiana was there, invited because of the French heritage
of the state of Louisiana.
Also a woman, whose name I don't recall, who had worked in the Obama administration, though she was not the invitee. She was the guest of a man who was invited, who I assume is either a Republican or an Independent.
When does Mr. Macron's plane leave to return to France?
He's likely on his way, I hope, and doesn't have to see or hear in person the wrath about to be rained down on him from his recent host at Tuesday's State dinner.
Macron has paved the way for Ms. Angela Merkle 's visit.
Poor Angela - she's likely to meet an enraged orangish man.
I think she can handle the situation..
Just another way of saying "I agree." nt
It would be interesting to know the ages of those of us who have responded to the OP.
I'm an older senior.
Of my four adult children, in their young to mid-50's, only one is a newspaper reader.
The other three seem to rely on their Smart phones, for the most part.
They are moderately well-informed, in my eyes.
I subscribe to my local paper, the Cincinnati Enquirer, and their weekly neighborhood offshoot.
I pay for both online and hard copy with the Enquirer.
At one time the Cincinnati Enquirer had a strong national reputation. Like most local newspapers these days, they have cut their staff enormously, and it is no longer printer locally, but in Columbus, Ohio. While there are still some good local stories, one section is USA Today, another is sports, which I am no longer interested in. I'm a big obituary reader. Although I can and do get both local and national news online, I like having the hard copy in my hands at breakfast & lunch. I'll likely stay with it until either I or the Enquirer goes.
I get the weekly neighborhood paper to support the boy who delivers it. My own children delivered it decades ago, and I believe in supporting young people working regularly - wonderful training in responsibility.
You could also try "Zillow" and adjust the settings for rentals and the type
of home desired - house, condo, apartment or townhouse.
That area of Ohio is very Republican, but, since you're coming from Texas, you're probably used to that situation.
To find people most compatible with your politics, try to locate near a college, if possible.
I don't know what colleges are near Lima, but Ohio is known for having oodles of colleges; the larger the better re political philosophies.
Yes, Mary Taylor's supporters are trying to link DeWine and Hillary Clinton because
both voted in favor of certain issues when both served in the Senate. This would have to be before 2008 - a decade ago.
Of course, Hillary's name is anathema to most Republican primary voters, and Taylor's supporters are trying to benefit from the linkage.
Dems running for Comgress in 2018 need to point out that middle-class and lower earners who
might have benefitted from the new tax bill are giving it back- and maybe more- to oil companies.
Republicans are planning to run ads praising the tax bill, but I doubt that many Americans voters will have a net benefit when all is said and done.
