Coos Bay/KBBR

I go down to Coos Bay periodically for family obligations and always amazed they carry progressive talk down there, given such a conservative area. They also have a local talk show on weekly basis and the guy isn't too bad for Coos Bay standards. The station is owned by Bicoastal Media which locates in smaller markets in northern California, Oregon and Washington. Their largest market appears to be Eugene, but their only two stations with progressive talk appears to be only in Eureka and Coos Bay. They need to be able to stream KBBR on the web before anything else. Lately, I've been listening to the progressive station 1090 in Seattle on my iphone with the Tunein app. However, I hear rumors that station may also be going away. That station though is owned by CBS (not clear channel). Why is it that major progressive markets can't have progressive talk? Very interesting. We need more small media ownerships, such as Bicoastal, available in larger markets.
