Trump to deport Haitians, they have 18 months left. :(

(CNN)The Trump administration has announced it will end the Temporary Protected Status designation for Haiti by July 2019, potentially forcing tens of thousands of Haitian immigrants to either leave the US or live in the shadows.

TPS is an immigration status allowed by law for certain countries experiencing dire conditions, such as a natural disaster, epidemic or war. It protects individuals from deportation and authorizes them to work in the US.
In May, former Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, who now serves as White House chief of staff, extended the protection from deportation for Haitians for an additional six months. When Kelly temporarily extended the status for Haiti, which had received the designation after an earthquake devastated the island in 2010, he warned the nearly 58,700 recipients living in America to prepare their affairs for going back to Haiti or to find another way to apply to stay in the United States.
"Based on all available information, including recommendations received as part of an inter-agency consultation process, Acting Secretary Duke determined that those extraordinary but temporary conditions caused by the 2010 earthquake no longer exist," a statement from the Department of Homeland Security said. "Thus, under the applicable statute, the current TPS designation must be terminated."

TRENTON, New Jersey -- New Jersey Democratic Gov.-elect Phil Murphy says New Jersey's minimum wage should be raised to $15 an hour.

Murphy stood alongside Democratic Senate President Steve Sweeney and incoming Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin Monday at the statehouse to support Democratic Rep. Donald Norcross' federal proposal to raise the minimum wage.

Murphy also called for phasing in a $15 minimum wage in New Jersey under his administration, which takes office from GOP Gov. Chris Christie on Jan. 16.

It was the first public event Murphy has held with legislative leaders.

They didn't unveil a specific measure to raise the rate.

Christie vetoed a bill last year that phased in a $15 minimum wage over five years.

New Jersey's current minimum wage is $8.44 an hour.

I am going to say this...

I hate that these sexual assault incidents and allegations are being politicized. It is taking away from the real problem, that girls, women, even men, and boys are not safe. There is an epidemic of predatory sexual assault and the victims are made to feel like the villains. They are not being taken seriously.

The Pentagon Accidentally Retweeted a Call for President Trump's Resignation

TIME / By Robert Burns / AP 3:42 PM EST

(WASHINGTON) — The Pentagon says an authorized operator of its Twitter page accidentally retweeted a tweet urging President Donald Trump to resign.

A Pentagon spokesman, Col. Rob Manning, said in a brief written statement that the content of the original tweet “would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense.”

The tweet was posted by a person whose Twitter handle is @ProudResister. It said, “The solution is simple. Roy Moore: Step down from the race. Al Franken: Resign from congress. Donald Trump: Resign from the presidency. GOP: Stop making sexual assault a partisan issue. It’s a crime as is your hypocrisy.”

Manning said the person who had retweeted the item “caught this error and immediately deleted it.”
