IrishAyes's JournalDr. Oz offered a frugal tip the other day
One which I'd never heard. He said people used to rub on a little Milk of Magnesia to curb body odor when they didn't have or didn't approve of antiperspirants.
I wonder if it would work as a light spray on dogs in the winter when it's too cold to bathe them outdoors? My 30-lb JRT Brigid, who I suspect has a touch of other blood at her size, is stronger than a bull moose and I know I'd never be able to control her in the bathtub.
It's a tiny town in the MidWest
County seat w/gov. offices plus a hospital and a few stores, less than 2K population.
It's too sad that human nature can be so cruel. I just don't believe that any one age group is worse than another, that's all. My southside neighbor has been such a bully all his life that most people around here are scared of him, and it's worse because he's rich and has high family connections. But the old bugger's ticker's about to give out, and it hasn't made him any sweeter. By and large he has eased off picking on me, because I let him have it right back. MidWesterners don't approve of outspoken females, but they're stuck with me, so they might as well get used to it.
Fortunately, as I said, there are some fairly decent people here. It's even got to where I can attend a church function like a carry-in and people already at the table don't get up and move when I sit down. Believe me, for arch-conservatives towards a liberal Democrat, that's progress! Most of the ones who used to scream at me have quieted down a lot, now that they know they're 'stuck' with President Obama's 2nd term. (I try to discourage political discussions because when I'm there, somebody's sure to start screaming, even in church. But they all seem to read the letters I write to the paper, so they KNOW where I stand. Right on their toes!)
Oddly enough I don't expect quite so much open vitriol in '16 if Hillary runs because a lot of them actually like her. After all, she's white....
Hooray for the President!
Getting home health care keeps a lot of seniors out of nursing homes and incidentally costs the states a lot less, not to mention the quality of life improvement.
If a school kid can fire a SWAT team member's weapon during a school demonstration
Why do people think those little kids couldn't get hold of the teacher's gun too??????
Hooray for her! Hooray for President Obama!
And just to show I can be as trivial as anyone, I'm pea-green jealous of her smile. Dang, wish I still had teeth like that.
Oh well, just so long as I can still bite GOP ankles, I guess that's what really matters most.
But - but - but -
The House Cryer keeps blasting it as "a trainwreck! and bad for the country!"
You don't suppose he's really referring to his party's behavior, do you? Surely a man of such exalted position would never lie!
Me 2
Since my latest wi-fi booster hasn't come yet, I'm at the library out of necessity so I don't get too far behind in the group posts. The chromebook arrived and I love it, but it's no use w/o internet. At least this should keep most of my comments minimal!
Good on Chris! Excellent start to my day.
I know, I know... we're supposed to keep on fighting no matter how hard the battle or hidden the possible victories. But we all like reward and encouragement, and this OP makes me feel like I just downed a pound of chocolate! How sweet!
Thanks for the info.
I would suggest my friend should encrypt, but this is a poverty pocket area overall, and he feels that those of us who are more comfortable should be sharing all we can. However, next time I upgrade equipment I'll get an extender. I'll tell you the truth, most people around here are lucky if they know how to turn on a computer so it's very unlikely anyone would be an effective hacker anyway.
And yes, I did ask permission. He's the pastor at a church less than a block away as the crow flies.
Okay, then - I won't boycott after all.
Had a visceral reaction of my own initially. But we do need to weigh things in the balance.
