The president spoke to military service members via teleconference, and complained their conversation were public because he was “surrounded by reporters and press,” reported Business Insider.

He asked them to leave by falling back on his old catchphrase from NBC’s reality show “The Apprentice.”

Wayne Cochran, who went from soul rocker to soul-saving minister, dies at 78

Wayne Cochran, the soul singer known for his outlandish outfits and platinum pompadour who came to be called The White Knight of Soul and who chucked it all to become a Miami minister, died Tuesday at his Miramar home of cancer, his son Christopher Cochran said.

Cochran was 78.

His towering pompadour hairstyle, which got more attention than President Donald Trump’s hair before social media memes were a thing, was arguably more famous than his songs — and the songs he recorded with his band, the C.C. Riders, were plenty famous.

The Blues Brothers touted Cochran in the duo’s classic 1980 musical comedy film and recorded his signature ode to his adopted hometown, “Goin’ Back to Miami.” Pearl Jam covered “Last Kiss.” Rod Stewart was a fan of the singer of rockabilly and a sound that would come to be called blue-eyed soul.

TRUMP WHITE HOUSE GOES AFTER WHITE PEOPLE ON WELFARE

The Trump administration could hit the president’s white working-class base where it hurts—threatening to make welfare cuts.

The majority of people who receive welfare checks are white working-class Americans, many of whom voted for Trump based on the pledge they would be better off financially under him.

But the president said last month he would be looking “very strongly” at welfare reform after suggesting that some people were unfairly abusing the system.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Monday that details of the administration’s plans to overhaul welfare would be released at the beginning of next year, stressing that Trump was particularly interested in the topic.

CBS News has confirmed that Donald Trump Jr. met with Alexander Torshin – a man with close ties to the Kremlin -- at an NRA event in May 2016. Torshin had been trying to set up a meeting with then-candidate Donald Trump but ended up being introduced to Mr. Trump's son.

A source familiar with the meeting says the two men were introduced to each other by a third party and that the conversation only last about two or three minutes. The source says the conversation centered on the men's mutual interest in firearms and, as far as the source could recollect, there was no discussion of the campaign.

The meeting prompted attention last week when the Senate Judiciary Committee fired off a letter to Jared Kushner and his attorney scolding them for not handing over documents about a "Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite." As CBS News reported last Friday, that "dinner invite" came in the form of a lengthy email from an intermediary who said that Torshin wanted to set up a meeting with Mr. Trump and that he was interested in setting up a meeting between Mr. Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The email was sent to top Trump campaign officials including former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, campaign official Rick Gates and eventually Jared Kushner who is the president's son-in-law. Kushner's attorney says his client said to "pass on this" and warned campaign officials to "decline such meetings." But in the end Donald Trump Jr. was introduced to Torshin anyway.

In a statement, Alan Futerfas, an attorney representing Trump Jr., downplayed the significance of the encounter. He says Trump Jr. "was attending an NRA convention and having dinner when an acquaintance asked him to say hello to Torshin and made an introduction. Futerfas said, "They made small talk for a few minutes and went back to their separate meals."

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro busted driving 119 miles per hour in upstate New York

The New York Daily News reports that state police say they clocked Pirro driving “119 miles per hour in a 65 mile-per-hour zone when she was stopped by a trooper at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the Town of Nichols in Tioga County.”

Pirro acknowledged driving over 50 miles per hour above the speed limit, but she claimed she was driving so fast because she had to go visit her ailing mother.

“I had been driving for hours to visit my ailing 89-year-old mom and didn’t realize how fast I was driving,” she said in a statement released through Fox News. “I believe in the rule of law and I will pay the consequences.”

According to the New York Daily News, Pirro’s speeding might be enough to get her license suspended, and she also might have to pay for a Driver Responsibility Assessment for the next three years.
