Just added Showtime to Sling TV, watching "Ray Donovan" for the first time...

...it's my kind of show, fast-paced and quirky. Feel sad every time Jon Voight's on the screen, since he went over the cliff for Trump. It's a case of having to separate the acting from the actor, and I think he fits the role of Donovan's father well...a complete SOB in 100 different ways, the tense relationship between the two.

Started watching with the new season but am also going back to the first episode and working my way through them all.

Lindsey predicts a post-impeachment "spirit of compromise" after the Senate gives Trump a pass

The chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee explained that he wants the trial to be quick and that expects nothing to come of it, with the GOP solidly behind fighting impeachment of the president.

During the interview Graham stated, “This thing will come to the Senate, and it will die quickly, and I will do everything I can to make it die quickly.”

“I am trying to give a pretty clear signal I have made up my mind. I’m not trying to pretend to be a fair juror here,” Graham said, adding, “What I see coming, happening today is just a partisan nonsense.”

“Personally I think President Trump will come out of this stronger and the good news is that everybody in politics in America needs to prove to the American public we’re not all completely crazy. So there may be a spirit of compromise coming post-impeachment, born of political necessity, if anything else,” he added.

BeBest UPDATE from Melanie: OK for Trump to bully Greta because Barron isn't an activist

“A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics,” Melania Trump tweeted. “Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it.”

But many were wondering how the First Lady’s words square with the fact that her own husband clearly didn’t follow her advice — advice that’s the main message behind her BeBest anti-bullying campaign — which prompted Melania to address the apparent contradiction in a statement released today.

“BeBest is the First Lady’s initiative, and she will continue to use it to do all she can to help children,” read the White House statement released on behalf of Melania. “It is no secret that the President and First Lady often communicate differently — as most married couples do.”

Then, the statement seemed to justify Trump’s attack.

“Their son is not an activist who travels the globe giving speeches,” the statement continued. “He is a 13-year-old who wanted and deserves privacy.”

The gop performance yesterday should put to rest any doubts among Democrats that Joe Biden is a lethal threat to Trumps re-election prospects. Here’s why: conspiracy theories are gop version of bringing out the China for special guests - we don’t do it for just anyone.

The disconnect between Schumer's statement on impeachment and the turtle on Hannity

Someone show Schumer this video of McConnell saying last night that he’ll do whatever the White House lawyers want him to do

Schumer statement: "If articles of impeachment are sent to the Senate, every single senator will take an oath to render ‘impartial justice.’ Making sure the Senate conducts a fair and honest trial that allows all the facts to come out is paramount.”
