Over the weekend, Owens father called for an investigation into his sons death, and suggested that President Donald Trump had not been prepared when he ordered the mission just days after taking office.
Spicer insisted on Monday that the mission had achieved its objectives.
As I mentioned before, I think you cant ever say that when theres most importantly loss of life, and people injured, that its 100 percent successful, Spicer said. But I think when you look at what the stated goal of that mission was, it was an information and intelligence-gathering mission. It achieved its objectives.
So, again, I would express our thoughts and our prayers and our condolences to all of the people in Chief Owens family and his friends, the press secretary added. But its something that as a SEAL and as somebody who deployed 12 times, he knew that this was part of the job and he knew what he was doing.
Trump's verdict is IN on The Oscars: They were "sad." #MAGA!
The president claims the organizers spent too much time focusing on attacking him rather than working on getting the details of the show right.
I think they were focused so hard on politics that they didnt get the act together at the end, Trump told Breitbart News. It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars. It didnt feel like a very glamorous evening. Ive been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.

Now growers, smokers and even state officials are preparing to guard the crop across the nation. A major concern is revenue. The non-profit Tax Foundation estimates that a mature legalized marijuana industry would generate up to $28 billion in tax revenue for federal, state and local governments. Colorado raked in $70 million in taxes in 2015, exceeding expectations.
A report on jobs predicts that the legal marijuana industry in the U.S. could create more than 250,000 jobs by the year 2020, Forbes reports. Thats more than projected job gains from manufacturing, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In Washington, the first state with Colorado to legalize recreational use of the drug, the state attorney general vowed to defy a federal crackdown.
I will resist any efforts by the Trump administration to undermine the will of the voters in Washington state, Ferguson told the Seattle Times.
Father of slain Navy SEAL criticizes White House over son's death, calls for an investigation
Owens told The Miami Herald that as his son William "Ryan" Owens' body made it to Dover Air Force Base outside Washington, he was told President Donald Trump was coming to meet him and his wife to pay his respects.
But Owens told the chaplain he didn't want to see the commander-in-chief.
"I told them I didn't want to make a scene about it, but my conscience wouldn't let me talk to him," Owens told the newspaper.

Bergdahl lawyers ask U.S. Army court to dismiss case due to Trump comments
Source: Reuters
Lawyers for U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl said on Sunday they will ask an Army appeals court to dismiss charges against him in the belief that President Donald Trump's repeatedly calling him a "traitor" during the election campaign make it impossible for him to get a fair trial.
Bergdahl's defense team plans to make the request on Monday at the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals in Virginia, Attorney Eugene Fidell said in a telephone interview. In a lower court, military Judge Jeffrey Nance of U.S. Army Trial Judiciary Second Judicial Court in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, rejected their argument.
Bergdahl, who spent five years as a prisoner of the Taliban in Afghanistan after walking off his post in 2009, faces a court-martial on charges of desertion and endangerment of U.S. troops.
The soldier's attorneys argue that comments made by Trump on the campaign trail before his November presidential election victory condemning Bergdahl, at one point calling him "a no-good traitor," have denied their client of his due-process rights.

Laura Ingraham bounced $42K check to AP trying to save her floundering website
http://www.rawstory.com/2017/02/right-wing-pundit-laura-ingraham-bounced-42k-check-to-ap-trying-to-save-her-floundering-website/
Right-wing radio host and author Laura Ingraham is facing a lawsuit filed by the Associated Press after she bounced a check to the wire service for unpaid fees and lost revenue on her website LifeZette.com.
Mediaite.com reported on Saturday that the AP is suing Ingraham and LifeZette for $50,000 in a suit filed Friday in Washington, D.C. Superior Court.
In July of 2015, LifeZette reportedly signed an agreement with the AP to pay $4,200 per month for the rights to run AP content on its homepage. In February, 2016, the AP canceled the deal due to non-payment.
Ingrahams company, Ingraham Media Group Inc., sent the AP a $42,611 check last month, but it was returned by the bank over insufficient funds. It was then, Mediaite said, that the wire service chose to take legal action.
Per the filing, the AP is looking for a total of $49,267. That amount includes $24,937.21 for unpaid fees and $17,674.50 for the revenue AP claims it lost after it was forced to suspend LifeZettes account. (These two totals equal the amount of the bounced check.) AP is also seeking additional funds in interest and attorney fees, wrote Mediaites Justin Baragona.

The Republican head of the House Intelligence Committee dismissed calls for an investigation into ties between the Trump administration and Russian intelligence officials saying it would be a witch hunt against the American people.
Speaking at the California Republican Partys spring convention in Sacramento, intel chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) compared accusations against the Trump White House to McCarthyism, reports Politico.
This is almost like McCarthyism revisited, Nunes told the attendees. Were going to go on a witch hunt against, against innocent Americans.
According to Nunes, he doesnt see enough warning signs from U.S. intelligence agency investigations to warrant hearings.
