BREAKING: Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones & Jason Bonham to re-form Led Zeppelin with Axl Rose

CNN New York: Guitarist Jimmy Page announced today that at the close of AC/DC's tour with Axl Rose, the surviving members of Led Zeppelin plus John Bonham's son Jason will unite as Led Zeppelin. They plan to record an album of new material and tour the U.S. and Europe in late 2017.

"I heard Axl perform AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie" and knew he was the man for us. As you know, Robert has vetoed the notion of touring on many occasions. I regret his decision but respect it, and am quite sure he will wholeheartedly support us as we move forward with Axl." Robert Plant could not be reached for comment.

Page was finally convinced that this was a fitting new chapter in the legacy of his legendary band when he and the other members met in secret for a rehearsal with Axl. "We were doing "Whole Lotta Love," and at the end he screamed "WOMAN! Wayyyyyy down insiiiide, youuuuuuu sha na na na na na na na na NEED, NEED it," and I felt cold chills rise up over my entire body. Don't get me wrong...Robert did a fine job as our vocalist. But this was the first time I'd heard our music the way I've always felt it should be played."

Page continued "I also think "Chinese Democracy" was a classic for the ages, and album that made our own "Physical Graffiti" sound like a hastily assembled collection of outtakes from Winger or Poison."

"We also rehearsed "Ramble On," and Axl did a brilliant improv when he sang the lines "Do you know where you are? You're in the depths of MORDOR, baby! You're gonna DIIIIIIIIIIIIE." I don't know where he keeps coming up with these new and fresh and remarkable ideas but I am certainly looking forward to him breathing new life into our old classics."

Tickets for Led Zeppelin go on sale in mid-2007.

BREAKING: Axl Rose no longer wishes to be taken down to the Paradise City.

CNN BREAKING: Axl Rose, current frontman for the semi-reunited Guns N' Roses as well as AC/DC, told CNN reporters today that he no longer wishes to be taken down to the Paradise City.

Was it a change in the grass or the girls? "Nope," Rose told CNN's Dana Bash, who had a chance encounter with the singer at a Starbucks en route to a local Donald Trump rally. "Still green, still pretty."

"I was singing the song the other night and got to the lines about "Just a urchin livin' under the street, I'm a hard case that's tough to beat, I'm your charity case so buy me something to eat" and realized I'm getting a million dollars per show for putting up with Slash and another million a night from Angus and laughed out loud. I laughed so hard that I fell off of Dave Grohl's throne and fractured my penis. Doctor told me it'll be OK but it will be in a splint for the remainder of the tour and that I should avoid any visual stimuli, including looking at my own beautiful face in the mirror."

Rose then spilled the beans about the setlist he has worked out with Angus Young for the remaining dates of the AC/DC tour. "We're going to open with "Whole Lotta Rosie"...I sing that one real good...then we'll be doing "Mr. Brownstone," "My Michelle," "Civil War," "Night Train," "November Rain," and then what I know will be a BIG treat for the fans...the "Chinese Democracy" album in its entirety. We finish with an encore, "Patience."

When reminded that the setlist only included one actual AC/DC song, Rose replied "Who's Stacy Ducey?"

The Guns N' Roses and AC/DC tours continue into 2016.

McDonald’s Customer Arrested for Filling Cup of Water With Soda Instead

http://www.thedailymeal.com/news/eat/mcdonald-s-customer-arrested-filling-cup-water-soda-instead/042116

18-year-old Cody Morris’ money-saving hack backfired on him. He was arrested and faces a robbery charge for filling a cup intended for water with soda at a Springdale, Arkansas, McDonald’s.

Morris and two other people entered the restaurant after ordering three large cups of water at the drive-thru. They proceeded to empty their cups and fill them with soft drinks instead, reports Fox News. The manager quickly caught on to what was happening and asked the customers to return the soda. Morris was the only one of the three to refuse.

The manager tried to block Morris’ car from leaving, however Morris hit the McDonald’s employee twice before fleeing the scene. Morris was shortly arrested after the police found his car at a nearby bowling alley.

Joe Walsh Nixes Concert: "I cannot in good conscience endorse the Republican party in any way"

"I cannot in good conscience endorse the Republican party in any way," artist says

Joe Walsh will not be performing at a July 18th concert he was initially scheduled to perform in Cleveland, OH. In a statement he released on Wednesday, Walsh said the event was billed to him as a benefit for the families of veterans, but after he discovered it was part of the Republican National Convention, he made the announcement that he is withdrawing from the show.

"It was my understanding that I was playing a concert which was a nonpartisan event to benefit the families of American veterans on Monday, July 18 in Cleveland. The admat I approved said this specifically," the singer said in the statement. "Today it was announced that this event is, in fact, a launch for the Republican National Convention."

Walsh, who will be co-headlining the One Hell of a Night Tour with Bad Company beginning this spring, also took issue with being affiliated with an event that would garner money for the convention. "In addition, my name is to be used to raise sponsorship dollars for convention-related purposes. Therefore, I must humbly withdraw my participation in this event with apologies to any fans or veterans and their families that I might disappoint.

"I am very concerned about the rampant vitriol, fear-mongering and bullying coming from the current Republican campaigns," he continued. "It is both isolationist and spiteful. I cannot in good conscience endorse the Republican party in any way. I will look at doing a veteran related benefit concert later this year."

Joanie "Chyna" Laurer, WWE Star, Dead at 45

http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/news/chyna-wwe-star-dead-at-45-20160421

Joanie Laurer, the former WWE star known as Chyna, died Wednesday night at the age of 45.

The news was confirmed by Laurer's manager and a statement posted on her official Twitter account, which read: "[T]oday we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

Laurer's body was found at a home in Redondo Beach, California. A cause of death is not known, though police are reportedly treating the case as a possible overdose.

Famous to a generation of wrestling fans for her run during WWE's "Attitude Era," Laurer redefined the possibilities for female performers as Chyna, a strong, silent enforcer billed as "The Ninth Wonder of the World." Thanks to her imposing physical presence, she quickly rose through wrestling's indie ranks, and by 1997 had achieved fame – first as a bodyguard for Triple H, then as a member of the iconic D-Generation X stable. It was with DX that Chyna showed she could hang with the boys in more ways than one, a trend that would define her time in WWE. She was the first female to ever enter the Royal Rumble match and qualify for the King of the Ring tournament, and in 1999, was the first woman to win the Intercontinental Championship.

I WANT Sanders to continue fighting. We're not talking about Dukakis in the effing tank here.

The reason the Primary is where it's at is because of the way the system is structured, period.

Bernie Sanders is not Ben Carson.

Bernie Sanders is not Marco Rubio.

Bernie Sanders is not Chris Christie.

He's Bernie EFFING Sanders, and without the structure of the system as it is (and I DO understand the system and the fact that it could very well result in Clinton winning), the fight that he is showing in the Primary is exactly the fight I would want him to fight in the Oval Office.

As an American, I have the right to side with the candidate I want to see as President. I'm not bashing Clinton. I just don't like her, don't trust her, don't care for what is already on her resume, and will not vote for her. I realize this may be taken as an invitation to pile on anti-Bernie responses and I can't control that. I am not a "Bernie Bro." Things have gotten intense here and I understand that. A lot is at stake. And that is exactly why I feel that Sanders needs to go the distance. It's not because Sanders charmed me into supporting him, or that I have some form of communal love and admiration for his supporters. It's because I've looked at his record and I've looked at Clinton's record and made what, for me, is an "informed choice."

Anyone who has read my posts knows that while I have posted Sanders threads, I have posted them largely without comment of my own. Same for any Clinton posts I've made. I've stayed away from posting "Red Site" material. I largely use Huffington Post and Washington Post and Mother Jones and other sources that are somewhat "sanctioned" by DU. Even so, these sites have come under fire here as sources that show up on DU when they "serve the purpose" of the poster. Well...

...all I can say, in the least confrontational manner I can, is that I have no interest in President Clinton and believe that Sanders is the person this country needs, right now, to unravel the snake pit we have found ourselves in.

That's just my personal opinion. I reserve the right to vote for the person I feel is best suited to serve our country, and I'm out if and when Sanders is out, and not one second before that.

WASHINGTON — A day after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) lost the New York primary election that he desperately needed to win, there were no signs that he would dial back his campaign against Hillary Clinton before the Democratic convention in July.

Mark Longabaugh, a top aide to the senator, told The Huffington Post that Sanders is prepared to stay in the race even if it becomes clear that Clinton has a majority of the pledged delegates and an insurmountable lead after the final primary on June 7.

The strategy outlined by Longabaugh echoed the case made the night before by Sanders’ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, who told MSNBC that the campaign will try to flip superdelegates away from Clinton before the convention. Neither candidate, Longabaugh argued, will have enough pledged delegates to secure the presidential nomination without the help of superdelegates. The latter officials will then have to decide which candidate gives the party the best shot to win in November. Sanders and his aides believe they have the better case.

“We intend to go to the convention and make the superdelegates vote,” Longabaugh said.

Tennessee GOP leader threatens tax hike on companies that oppose anti-trans bathroom bill

Tennessee GOP leader threatens tax hike on companies that oppose anti-trans bathroom bill

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/04/tennessee-gop-leader-threatens-tax-hike-on-companies-that-oppose-anti-trans-bathroom-bill/

Tennessee House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick (R) on Tuesday threatened to financially punish companies which opposed a bathroom bill aimed at transgender people by stripping their tax breaks.

Although McCormick agreed that the House “did the right thing” by shelving the bill on Monday, he defended the intent of the bill, which would have forced students at public schools and colleges to use bathrooms corresponding with the gender on their birth certificate, according to the Times Free Press.

During a floor debate on Tuesday, McCormick blasted business leaders for focusing on the bathroom bill instead of “a full-fledged gang war going on in Chattanooga.”

“This weekend we had four people shot in Chattanooga,” McCormick said. “But “our Chamber of Commerce is writing us letters about the bathroom bill. Now the reason they’re not all fired up about the city of Chattanooga’s handling of the gang problem is because the city of Chattanooga sends them money and funds their budget. And we don’t. Guess what. We ain’t gonna.”

“All these companies who tried to blackmail us over this thing, when they come for their corporate welfare checks (economic incentives) next year, we need to have a list out and keep an eye on it,” the majority leader added.

In New York's 16th District, Cruz was beaten by 2% by Ben Carson, who is no longer running. USA!

Ted Cruz's Night of Humiliation Continues as He Loses to Ben Carson in New York District

http://gawker.com/ted-cruzs-night-of-humiliation-continues-as-he-loses-to-1771963177

It’s been a rough night for Ted Cruz. Across the state of New York, he’s almost guaranteed to come in last place of the three remaining candidates. And in at least one district in Westchester, Ted Cruz coming in last of the remaining candidates and someone who isn’t even running anymore.

That’s right, a hearty congratulations to Dr. Ben “Gifted Hands” Carson. We knew you’d come in handy for something.

I’d like to personally thank New York’s 16th district for this beautiful gift, but I also have some questions. Namely, why are you voting for a candidate you (hopefully) know isn’t actually a candidate anymore? Does Ben Carson actually have a dedicated following? Do you know who Ben Carson is? And what has soup ever done to you?

Of course, the important thing to remember is that, tonight, Ted Cruz effectively lost to a man in a coma who wasn’t even competing in the first place.
