President Donald Trump’s fragile state-of-mind was dealt a “fatal blow” by Fox News, MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace reported on “Deadline: White House.”

The host explained that “today we’ve been watching the collapse of a con.”

“Donald Trump’s cover story — crafted with a heavy assist from Attorney General William Barr’s five pre-report appearances and statements — came crumbling down today when Donald Trump woke up and realized that Robert S. Mueller clearly found evidence he obstructed justice and that he had unseemly contacts with a foreign adversary,” Wallace said.

“The fatal blow to his fragile state may have come from the words on the bottom of the screen on his network of choice Fox News where they ran these words, ‘no exoneration,'” she continued, showing a clip of Fox News personality Bret Baier on Wednesday.

“It was a far cry from Trump’s words, ‘total and complete exoneration,'” Wallace noted.

It is no secret that President Donald Trump did not get along with the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). But evidently, that grudge even extends to objects named after him.

On Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that on the president’s latest trip to Japan, he demanded the Navy move the U.S.S. John McCain “out of sight.” Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan personally approved the order to obscure the warship so that it would not be visible to the president when he arrived by helicopter — even though he would have only seen it in passing during touchdown and immediately transported to the U.S.S. Wasp, nowhere near the John McCain.

While the warship was not actually moved, a tarpaulin was used to cover its name, a barge was used to partially obscure it, and any sailors wearing a cap with the ship’s name were given the day off.

Trump and McCain’s enmity has festered for years, with Trump repeatedly claiming McCain’s capture and torture in Vietnam didn’t really make him a war hero, and McCain standing in the way of Trump’s top priority of repealing the Affordable Care Act in 2017.

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson called out Congress during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber” asking what it would take for Congress to impeach President Donald Trump.

“Well, we’ll see if it can handle the nuance if they would read the report. What do we pay the for, right? It’s their job to read the report,” Robinson said of the elected officials. “Congress should ask a question: If you’re not going to start an impeachment into Donald Trump, imagine — tell me — describe the president for whom you would start an impeachment inquiry. I mean, a president who abused power? A president who used the instruments of the state to go after his political enemies? A president who lies to the American people all the time? I mean, describe this hypothetical president who does something that Donald Trump doesn’t do all the time.”

Melber seemed dumbstruck, shaking his head and closing his eyes.

“I’ll let that sit for a second on a big night, a moment of reflection,” he said, pausing. “Because you put it down and you say, this report, which Mueller was really just going through the biggest take ways from this in about nine minutes.”
