MSNBC: Father & daughter photo is Trump's Katrina moment

It's being discussed right now on Stephanie Ruhle's show.

I'm not sure I agree with that... it is "A" Katrina moment, but perhaps not "THE" moment for a bastard who's had MANY, going back to his mocking a disabled reporter.

I CAN see a "fact check" video which juxtaposes a crossed-arms and petulant Trump saying he's doing "a lot better than Obama," mixed with actual facts about how Obama's administration handled the situation.

ONE THING IS FOR SURE...we CANNOT shy away from Trump's record in office. It's going to have to be in the mix. YES, we have to speak directly to voters, with an agenda that will matter to them. We also have to make it a balancing act.

We'll see what comes out of the debates tonight.

Turtle pulls back into shell when asked about Trump rape allegations

Lawrence O'Donnell just played the clip. McConnell was asked if "not my type" was a proper defense against the allegations and he replied "I have no comment on that."

Trump on Carroll: "No. 1, she's not my type. No. 2, it never happened. It never happened, OK?"

President Trump said Monday that writer E. Jean Carroll was “totally lying” when she recently accused him of raping her during an encounter in a New York department store in the mid-1990s.

In an exclusive interview with The Hill, the president vehemently denied the allegations just hours after Carroll detailed the alleged incident during a cable news interview.

“I’ll say it with great respect: No. 1, she’s not my type. No. 2, it never happened. It never happened, OK?” the president said while seated behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.

“Totally lying. I don’t know anything about her,” he said. “I know nothing about this woman. I know nothing about her. She is—it’s just a terrible thing that people can make statements like that.”

New York Times: We woulda, we coulda, we shoulda, but hey, we didn't, and sh*t happens. C'est la vie

“After an article last week reported the advice columnist E. Jean Carroll’s rape allegations against President Trump, some readers accused The Times of downplaying the story,” wrote staff editor Laura Takenaga. “Many have written to ask us why we didn’t give the allegations more attention on our website and in print … Some questioned whether the lack of prominence showed too much deference to the president’s denials, or whether it even suggested misogyny or an unwillingness to believe a victim’s account.”

“In The Times‘s reporting on the Weinstein and O’Reilly cases, editors developed an informal set of guidelines for when The Times would publish such allegations. Those guidelines include locating sources outside those mentioned by the accusers who not only corroborate the allegations but also are willing to go on the record,” stated the analysis. “But the Carroll story, Mr. (Executive editor Dean) Baquet said, was different because the allegations were already receiving broad attention, with New York Magazine publishing an excerpt from Ms. Carroll’s book detailing the incident.”

Ultimately, the Times concluded that the different circumstances of this case meant that it should have been covered more aggressively than it otherwise would have been.

“In retrospect, Mr. Baquet said, a key consideration was that this was not a case where we were surfacing our own investigation — the allegations were already being discussed by the public,” said the analysis. The fact that a well-known person was making a very public allegation against a sitting president ‘should’ve compelled us to play it bigger.'”

Trump bizarrely commends Iran for not shooting down plane w/38 people on it, as though it's a major concession: "There was a plane with 38 people yesterday, did you see that?... they had it in their sights and they didn't shoot it down... we appreciate that they didn't do that."
