Pres also ridicules new NFL rule allowing players to go in the locker room rather than take a knee on the field during the National Anthem. "Isn't that worse than not standing? asks Trump. "That doesn't play. I actually think in many ways its worse."

BREAKING: A dejected Scott Pruitt found shopping alone for lotion ("It's just not the same")

BREAKING NEWS - NO LINK YET.

WASHINGTON DC - Scott Pruitt, former EPA head, was spotted at a local Ritz Carlton today, perusing their selection of lotions. When approached by reporters, he stated that he had driven himself to the Ritz, and that he would be paying for the lotion out of his own pocket, rather than turning in an expense account.

"It's just not the same," said Pruitt. "My hands, as well as other parts of my body, will still be silky-smooth, but I already miss the good old days of sitting back in my limo, sipping on a nice single malt, while I was chauffeured to my shopping sprees. Plus, this stuff isn't cheap. Looks like I'll be having my Beluga tonight without toast points."

By Thursday afternoon, rumors had surfaced that Pruitt would be the host of a new Fox News show, "Fox with No Friends." The Fox News Network did not immediately return our calls.

Mr. Davis said he was persuaded to help after Mr. Cohen said publicly that his loyalty was to his family and the country, as opposed to Mr. Trump.

Former Fox exec Bill Shine proves "alleged sexual misconduct" isn't necessarily "career limiting."

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday named former Fox News executive Bill Shine to a key administration communications post, the White House said in a statement.

Shine will serve as assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for communications, a job that has been vacant since Hope Hicks, Trump’s campaign confidante, left in February.

Shine resigned in May 2017 as co-president of Fox News Channel in the wake of a sexual misconduct scandal at the cable channel. Named in a number of lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct, he was blamed for not doing more to prevent it.

Hicks was the third communications director of the Trump White House, following Mike Dubke, who held the post for about three months, and Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired after just 10 days in the job following obscene comments he made in an interview with The New Yorker magazine.

What Patriotism Looks Like: A 6-Year-Old Raised $13,000 For Migrant Kids

What Patriotism Looks Like: A 6-Year-Old Raised $13,000 For Migrant Kids

Hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the streets last weekend to demand the Trump administration reunite kids and parents who were separated at the border.

A 6-year-old boy in Atlanta also had an idea: Make money by selling lemonade, and give it to someone who would help the families.

By last week, he and his family had raised more than $13,000—some through lemonade and bake sales, but the vast majority from a fundraiser on Facebook, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The money is going to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, or RAICES, a Texas-based legal services nonprofit helping immigrants, refugees, and children.

Had it with the political fireworks? This Fourth of July week I’m focusing on people in America who dream big. Oh, and we’ll have pandas, too. Happy holiday! Recharge is a weekly newsletter full of stories that will energize your inner hellraiser. You can sign up at the bottom of the story.

The Senate Intelligence Committee Refutes Trump...As Quietly As Possible

The Senate Intelligence Committee Refutes Trump—As Quietly As Possible

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2018/07/senate-intelligence-july-fourth-russian-interference/

The Republican-run Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday repudiated President Donald Trump’s denials that Russia interfered to help his 2016 campaign. But the release of the report—at around 3pm, just before the July 4 holiday—suggests that the Senate Republicans are eager to keep their differences with Trump out of the sunlight.

The report comes five days after Trump seemed to endorse Russian President Vladimir Putin’s denial, in the face of US intelligence agencies’ conclusions, that Russian interfered in the 2016 election: “Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!” Trump tweeted on Thursday.

While Republicans in the House have openly aimed to discredit the Justice Department’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s Russian ties, Tuesday’s seven-page report saw the Senate committee’s Republicans siding with US intelligence and law enforcement, including the FBI.

The report endorses the January 6, 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, or ICA, finding Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 with the goals of undermining Americans’ faith in the democratic process and denigrating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The assessment also concludes that Russia “developed a clear preference for” Trump.
