Email about California Recall Election

Breaking 5 million ballots cast

The first big wave has abated slightly, but not before we break the 5-million barrier. What will be interesting is to see how these numbers shift after this weekend when many counties are opening in-person voting opportunities. This second avenue of returns may alter the composition of the electorate a bit.

One thing we always look at in these elections is how much the early and late voting patterns are consistent with prior voting behavior. Voting, of course, is very habitual. And we see patterns set in with some voters always voting early by mail, some wanting to walk their ballot in and drop it off, and a decreasing number old-schooling it by voting-person on Election Day using a machine.
Looking at the data, we are at 23% turnout, but we are 55% among voters who usually vote early, and 50% turnout among voters who cast their ballots early in the 2020 General.

Democrats who have historically voted early are at 59% turnout, and even those who usually vote late are at 35% turnout, signaling this switch to more early voting for Democrats, as we saw in 2020.

A life with Cats

So, if you want to know who I am, I just made a video for YouTube. I did this on the spot and forgot to wear my dentures. But at my age, it doesn't matter anymore. I just look like another old man to many young uns.

But this my new life since COvid started.

The Deplorable Insurrection

This didn't go well for them at all. Even Moscow Mitch called it an insurrection and called them "criminals." and now Schumer is calling for strict prosecution.

They keep calling them Thugs. They should call them Terrorists.

Trump has lost my 93 year old Dad.

He is a life long Republican.

He lives in a retirement housing area in Texas and yesterday he told me that he feels that Trump is throwing his aged people to the wolves. And he says this feeling is prevalent in their community. Many of them feel Trump is killing them to save his re-election possibilities.

These are older people in a red state and most are well over 75. Things are probably going this way elsewhere too.

Trumpville's are springing up in cities all across this country.

There are new homeless camps starting up all over the cities in this country. By some measures, homelessness has increased 30 percent in just the last two years. Many programs have been cut or even totally abolished.

So while the wealthy got a huge tax giveaway, the poor got nothing and many have had to resort to homelessness. And if Republicans have their way, it will just get a lot worse.
