New poll shows Paul Penzone leading Joe Arpaio in sheriff's race +10 points

A new poll conducted by political consultant Gibson McKay with Sherpa Public Affairs shows Penzone taking a ten point lead over Arpaio.

"I knew there was a lot of discussion among the chattering class that Arpaio was having trouble. I was surprised that the margin by which indicated as him losing."

348 Maricopa County voters were asked who they would choose. Some of the results were surprising for McKay, like Arpaio losing among independents.

"I think his base, which has always been traditionally been an older base, that 50 to 65 crowd, really is departing from him. The reason for that, I don't know. Also, men who he has always done well with. Kind of that red beat, law and order kind of attitude, men are leaving him too."

Poll: Michigan church goers shift from Trump to Clinton

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s struggle in Michigan is being fueled in part by a sudden decline in support among voters who frequently attend church as questions swirl about his character and treatment of women.

Two polls of likely Michigan voters — on Sept. 27-28 and Oct. 10-11, during a tumultuous period in the presidential election — show a 15-percentage-point swing in Democrat Hillary Clinton’s favor among voters who attend church each week.

Two weeks ago, Trump led Clinton among frequent churchgoers, 45 percent to 34 percent, in a poll conducted after the first presidential debate.

Trump now trails Clinton 41 percent to 36 percent among these typically more conservative voters in a poll conducted Monday and Tuesday after revelations of a decade-old recording of Trump’s boasting that his celebrity allows him to grope women.

Donald Trump Kept Calling Lil Jon an ‘Uncle Tom,’ Celebrity Apprentice Staffers Say

The Donald didn’t seem to understand that the term was a slur, and kept using it even after that was explained to him.

During an episode of a season that first aired in 2013 (dubbed All-Star Celebrity Apprentice), the “Turn Down for What” singer was tasked, along with the other celebrity contenders, with mounting competing displays around and inside glass trucks in order to promote hair-care products. In the heat of competition, Lil Jon bought and donned an Uncle Sam costume to help advertise the “beautiful” hair product.

During the day’s shoot, Trump himself caught wind of this gimmick and began referring to Lil Jon around Apprentice staff as “Uncle Tom” instead of Uncle Sam.

“Look, he’s Uncle Tom!” one longtime Apprentice staffer recalled Trump blurting out at least twice. The staffer said Trump was utterly tone-deaf to the racially charged history of the term, which is used to deride a black man deemed to be subservient to white people.

“We kept trying to explain to [Trump] that that’s not a word you can use, that it’s offensive,” another Apprentice employee told The Daily Beast. “One of the executive producers had to call him up directly to [plead with] him not to say it, and Trump was like, ‘No, that’s a saying, it’s Uncle Tom.’ There are several takes in the footage of the dailies that has him trying to figure out the difference between ‘Uncle Tom’ and Uncle Sam. He just couldn’t grasp that it was offensive… When [Trump] decides he wants to do something, that’s his way.”

Trump's Campaign Is 'Pulling Out of Virginia'

Donald Trump's campaign is "pulling out of Virginia," a move that stunned staff in the battleground state, three sources with knowledge of the decision told NBC News.

The decision came from Trump's headquarters in New York and was announced on a conference call late Wednesday that left some Republican Party operatives in the state blindsided. Two staffers directly involved in the GOP's efforts in Virginia confirmed the decision.

The move to pull out of Virginia shows Trump is "running essentially a four state campaign," with the focus now shifting to battlegrounds critical to his chances in November: Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, a source with knowledge of the decision told NBC News.

BUSTED: Rudy Giuliani says he never saw Hillary Clinton in NYC on 9/11! We got receipts!

Rudy Giuliani told a bald-faced lie to accuse Hillary Clinton of lying about her response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The former New York City mayor delivered the whopper Wednesday afternoon while introducing Donald Trump at a rally in Ocala, Florida.

“Don’t tell me if you said that you remember Sept. 11, 2001,” Giuliani said. “I remember Sept. 11, 2001. Yes, yes, you helped to get benefits for the people who were injured that day. But I heard her say that she was there that day. I was there that day, I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton there. That was like when she said she had to run through gunfire. That turned out to be, what do we call it? A lie.”

Giuliani is actually the one lying, because Clinton — the Democratic U.S. senator from New York at the time — was photographed walking next to him and then Gov. George Pataki about 24 hours after the attacks. According to Think Progress, there is also no record of Clinton claiming to be at Ground Zero on the day of the attack.

Salt Lake Tribune: Hillary Clinton is the only qualified candidate, and the best choice

It is time to get serious.

It has been amusing, to a degree, to watch the circus that was the Republican primary process struggle and fuss and finally produce such a disappointment to be its presidential nominee.

And there is no question that there are many Americans who feel lost and confused about a world that, in their eyes, has left them behind. Significant numbers of people have expressed a desire to blow up the system and start over. Or, more accurately, to pull American back to a day that was special only in that it placed white males alone at the top of the power pyramid.

Teen Beauty Queens Say Trump Walked In On Them Changing. Some as young as 15

Four women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant said Donald Trump walked into the dressing room while contestants — some as young as 15 — were changing.

“I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,’” said Mariah Billado, the former Miss Vermont Teen USA.

Trump, she recalled, said something like, “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.”

Three other women, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of getting engulfed in a media firestorm, also remembered Trump entering the dressing room while girls were changing. Two of them said the girls rushed to cover their bodies, with one calling it “shocking” and “creepy.” The third said she was clothed and introduced herself to Trump.

Trump Told Russia To Blame for Hacks Long Before Debate

During Sunday's debate, Donald Trump once again said he doesn't know whether Russia is trying to hack the U.S. election, despite Friday's statement by the U.S. intelligence community pointing the finger at Putin -- and despite the fact that Trump was personally briefed on Russia's role in the hacks by U.S. officials.

A senior U.S. intelligence official assured NBC News that cybersecurity and the Russian government's attempts to interfere in the 2016 election have been briefed to, and discussed extensively with, both parties' candidates, surrogates and leadership, since mid-August. "To profess not to know at this point is willful misrepresentation," said the official. "The intelligence community has walked a very thin line in not taking sides, but both candidates have all the information they need to be crystal clear."

On Sunday, Trump disputed the idea there was any hack at all. "I notice, anytime anything wrong happens, they like to say the Russians are — [Hillary Clinton] doesn't know if it's the Russians doing the hacking. Maybe there is no hacking," Trump told moderator Martha Raddatz of ABC News. "But they always blame Russia. And the reason they blame Russia because they think they're trying to tarnish me with Russia. I know nothing about Russia."
