Stocks zoom higher as Wall Street predicts Joe Biden will win

New York (CNN Business)US stocks were sharply higher Monday morning, one day before Election Day, when Wall Street expects Joe Biden will win the presidency and Democrats will retake the Senate and maintain control of the House.

Stocks started the day off with a bang in New York, retracing some of their losses from last week, when they recorded their worst week since March.
The Dow (INDU) traded 1.9%, or some 510 points, higher around mid-morning. The broader S&P 500 (SPX) rose 1.8%, and the Nasdaq Composite (COMP) climbed 1.4%.
Although stocks typically favor Republican policies, investors are eager for more fiscal stimulus, that will buoy an economy headed south once again as coronavirus cases soar. Investors predict a "blue wave" would lift the chances of a comprehensive stimulus deal getting passed in the winter.

*Baboon Anus* Trails Biden by Nearly 20 Points in New Hampshire 58-39

New Hampshire, considered to be a battleground state in the November election, has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 2000 when George W. Bush picked the state's four electoral votes. However, Trump nearly defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 New Hampshire presidential election.

Clinton defeated Trump by less than half of 1 percentage point. While the Trump campaign may be looking for an influx of Republican voters to give Trump a victory in New Hampshire on Tuesday, polling information from the American Research Group could indicate a different outcome.

Biden has the support of 58 percent of New Hampshire voters while Trump received 39 percent of the likely voter support, a difference of 19 percentage points.
