Brian Seitchik, Trump’s Arizona state director, who had confirmed cancellation of the event Friday afternoon, could not be reached for comment following Trump's tweet. Trump's national spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, did not respond to the newspaper's request for clarification of the status of the event.
The latest confusion from the campaign reflects mixed messages surrounding the event and others the campaign has canceled in recent days.

Trump was scheduled to deliver a speech at a downtown Phoenix hotel on Wednesday. But Brian Seitchik, Trump’s Arizona state director said, “We have postponed next Wednesday’s visit, but we look forward to having another Arizona event scheduled soon."
The campaign provided no explanation for the cancellation. Trump also canceled a Las Vegas rally scheduled for Friday, although the candidate did travel there en route to a fundraiser in northern Nevada. And earlier this week, Trump called off other scheduled events, including in Colorado.

He blames his troubles -- brought on by his own racial profiling policies -- on the ACLU, the justice department and, of course, Obama.

"Donald Trumpshould release his tax returns and full medical records, Republican Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Jason Chaffetz (Utah) said Wednesday.
“You’re just going to have to do that, it’s too important,” Chaffetz said on CNN. “If you’re going to run and try to become the president of the United States, you’re going to have to open up your kimono and show everything, your tax returns, your medical records.”
Chaffetz said that the standard applies to both candidates. Clinton has released her 2015 tax return and medical history. Trump has only released a cursory, bombastic letter from his doctor.
