The Polack MSgt
The Polack MSgt's JournalYesterday I posted more folk music, but in the replies I said I was likely to go off on a tangent
And post just about anything, because talent doesn't have a genre and I like just about anything. To prove that point I said that I may even post a bunch of 70s Kansas tunes...
The point being that orchestral Prog Rock was about as far from a finger picked Guild acoustic and a fiddle as you're likely to get and I dig it anyway.
Especially all the outstanding tunes that were ignored then and are mostly forgotten now.
Kansas is so much more than "Point of No Return" or "Dust in the Wind"

Or, from the same album:

Good Music can be anything. The best music is just 3 chords and the truth

Mr. Lebowski has me spending my lunch hour google hunting songs
What can I say - I'm easy to trigger over music - especially legendary songs like "Sunday Morning Coming Down" which compelled me to share my favorite version...
Which in turn made me want to share the album "Classic Cash Hall of Fame Series", recorded in 1988. This record has Johnny re-recording 74 old tunes in a modern (For the late 80's anyway) studio.
Some Johnny fans dismiss the record, but I love it - several of these takes are easily my favorite versions of the songs.
Especially Tennessee Flat Top Box, Sunday Morning Coming Down and this:
Please take a peak at Gems On VHS. This is a great channel. There are so many great songs
I support this channel on Patreon but have no other business with 'em, I'm not selling anything... But for almost 9 years they have shared true American talent for FREE.
Maybe toss these folks a couple bucks
I hope you lied when you whispered goodbye... through teary eyes

Whisky Tribe is a thing
This a good video - fun video until it gets to a serious point. And at that point it is a very informative video.
I have been posting some really dark ass music lately
Which I defend - hey I like that stuff.
But that can get pretty relentlessly negative. So, this is a charming up beat melody with an optimistic lyric.
Cheer the fuck up Polack - is what it seems to be telling me. (and using a handful of nickels as a maraca?? GENIUS)
I was 1 years old when this aired
but it has aged WAY better than I have.
