Hillary Clinton on Sen. Bernie Sanders: 'Nobody likes him'

Source: ABC News

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton levied scathing attacks on Sen. Bernie Sanders in a new Hulu documentary and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Clinton, who competed for the 2016 Democratic nomination against Sanders and won, claimed that Sanders is unlikable and has been relatively unaccomplished during his congressional tenure.

“He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done,” Clinton said in the documentary. “He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”

[...]

“I will say, however, that it’s not only him, it’s the culture around him. It’s his leadership team. It’s his prominent supporters. It’s his online 'Bernie Bros' and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women. And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it.”

'I'm never afraid and I'm rarely surprised': Pelosi emboldened.

Source: Politico

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is heading into the holidays emboldened, finishing a tumultuous year back in the majority by both impeaching President Donald Trump and then muscling through the House his biggest legislative win on trade — a signature issue for him — all within 24 hours.

[...]

“Oh pfft,” Pelosi told POLITICO, waving her hand dismissively when asked about McConnell’s suggestion she was “too afraid” to send him the articles of impeachment against Trump, which would trigger a Senate trial on whether to oust the president.

[...]

Pelosi has refused to commit to sending over the articles of impeachment until McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) reach an agreement on ground rules for the trial. But she has also downplayed the idea that she will delay the trial as long as possible, saying she’s merely waiting to see what kind of deal the two Senate leaders can reach before she formally transmits them across the Capitol.

McConnell has angered Democrats by repeatedly predicting Trump will be acquitted and by vowing to closely coordinate with the White House during the Senate proceedings. “There will be no difference between the president’s position and our position as to how to handle this to the extent that we can,” McConnell said on Fox News last week.

“Fear is never a word used with me. You should know right away,” Pelosi added. “I’m never afraid and I’m rarely surprised.”

#BoycottHallmark trends on Twitter after Hallmark Network caved to anti-LGBTQ group

Source: Raw Story

The Hallmark Channel is facing a public boycott after caving to an anti-LGBTQ group that demanded the network not show an ad showing two women marrying each other.

“The Hallmark Channel pulled four TV ads featuring brides kissing each other on Thursday after a targeted campaign by a conservative group,” The New York Times reported Saturday.

“Asked to explain why the ads had been rejected, an employee of Hallmark’s parent company said the channel did not accept ads ‘that are deemed controversial,’ according to an email exchange shared with The New York Times. A spokesman for Hallmark said the women’s ‘public displays of affection’ violated the channel’s policies, but he declined to comment on why a nearly identical ad featuring a bride and groom kissing was not rejected,” the newspaper reported.

“The series of six ads, for the wedding planning website Zola, first appeared on the Hallmark Channel on Dec. 2. The ads, which feature several configurations of couples, all offer variations on the same concept: While standing at the altar, couples ponder whether guests would have arrived on time and bought them better gifts if only they had created a custom wedding website with Zola,” The Times explained.

While sending 14,000 troops to Saudi Arabia, Trump claims to reduce Middle East troop presence.

I know it's shocking but the Trump has lied to us. He claimed he wanted to reduce U.S. troop presence in the Middle East as his rationale for moving U.S. troops out of northern Syria, thus allowing Turkey to overtake the Kurdish population who, subsequently, needed to retreat from the area for their for safety.

President Donald Trump has insisted that his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from the Syrian border with Turkey is a step toward getting the United States out of "endless" wars.

But one critic of the move says Trump is breaking his own promise by sending troops back into other parts of the Middle East.

"That is one reason we're seeing so much increased tension in the region and that President Trump has sent 14,000 American troops to the region since May," McGurk told MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd on "Meet the Press" Oct. 20. "So he can't tell his political rallies that he's getting troops out of endless wars when he's sending 14 times the amount back into the region."

Clearly, reducing U.S. troop presence in the Middle East was not the objective in the Trump's decision in Syria.

BTW, Susan Rice, former National Security Advisor under President Obama, this morning on "Face the Nation" pointed this out and I'm saddened that this is the first I'd heard of this....thanks MSM.

I support Mayor Pete. But I will vote Biden in the primary.

I'll be damned if I sit by and watch the corrupt POS president and his corrupt republican party do to Joe Biden what they did to Hillary Clinton.

STOP putting liars on teevee!

Rudy Giuliani is a liar. He, like Kellyanne Conway and so many other Republican defenders of our corrupt president, does not inform the public. Instead, he misrepresents, obfuscates, and filibusters. He adds nothing to our understanding of how our government is operating. More importantly, acting as a liar is detrimental to our understanding and the pursuit of democracy.
Hey George (This Week with George Stephanopoulos) and Margaret (Face the Nation), you disappoint me! Today, you contributed to the corruption of our discourse.
(end rant)

without a smartphone using a laptop?

Ha, Bernie!

I'm not a Bernie Sanders fan. But I believe in giving credit where credit is due. And Bernie deserves credit for this exchange with Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation.

MARGARET BRENNAN: I want to ask you about Iran. Was President Trump's decision this week to call off that strike the right one?

SEN. SANDERS: See, it's like somebody setting a fire to a basket full of paper and then putting it out. He helped create the crisis and then he stopped the attacks. The idea that we're looking at the president of the United States who number one, thinks that a war., with Iran is something that might be good for this country.

MARGARET BRENNAN: He was just doing a limited strike of just a limited strike.

SEN. SANDERS: Oh, just a limited strike- well, I'm sorry. I just didn't know that it's okay to simply attack another country with bombs just a limited strike- that's an act of warfare. So two points. That will set off a conflagration all over the Middle East. If you think the war is either- the war in Iraq, Margaret was a disaster I believe from the bottom of my heart that the war- a war with Iran would be even worse, more loss of life never ending war in that region, massive instability.

Thank you, Bernie! That's the point: we can't simply drop bombs on Iran in retaliation for an alleged drone downing and it not be an act of war!

A Majority of House Democrats Do Not Support Impeachment.

According to recent reporting, a majority of House Democrats do not support impeaching the president; only a few dozen or so Democrats support impeachment.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/23/politics/democrats-impeachment-whip-list/index.html

Also, according to reporting, the majority of Americans do not support impeaching the president; only around 29% of Americans support impeachment.
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2019/0/27/the_political_case_for_impeachment_doesnt_hold_up_140425.html

So why is it that we are inundated with impeachment talk everywhere we turn to for news? It's a non-starter given these facts.

Now, I get it. I would like this corrupt, incompetent, POS forcibly evicted from the White House. Impeachment would give me great satisfaction and would validate my faith in the constitution and justice. But given the above statistics, it ain't gonna happen. Maybe, and that's a big MAYBE, the Congressional hearings will reveal enough to alter the current landscape. I'm not going to hold my breath.

But has everyone forgotten the wall to wall coverage of "Hillary's emails" and the damage that did to her presidential campaign? The wall to wall coverage of Democrats not impeaching Donald Trump is doing the same thing. The Democratic party is being damaged by the MSM's incessant coverage of impeachment. Weak, fearful, unorganized; you name it. That's the theme about Democrats not impeaching Trump.

It's time to stop falling for this...and even call out the MSM for its role in creating this havoc within the Democratic party.

Trump proposes $845 billion reduction to Medicare in new budget.

As a candidate in the 2015 GOP primary, Trump promised he would not cut, among other entitlement programs, Medicare. As a candidate in the 2016 presidential election, Trump promised he would not cut, among other entitlement programs, Medicare. Trump has released his 2020 budget proposal. Guess what? Trump proposes almost a $1 trillion in cuts to Medicare. Other entitlements including Medicaid also take a hit.

While your reading the news about Trump setting the country up for a new shutdown showdown because his budget proposes billions for his border wall, no one is talking about his proposed cuts to Medicare.

This should be the headline: Trump proposes $845 billion reduction to Medicare in new budget. Trump promised over and over to 'save' Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
