Open Letter to Hillary: Great effort, but its time to withdraw and support The Bern

Let me explain.

Hillary has raised a lot of money and supporters, but the upcoming election is too important to lose to the republicans led by Trump (but the argument would be the same regardless of which horrible republican runs the party). The next President is going to fill at least 2 supreme court positions, have to lead on climate change, deal with increasingly deadly attacks from terrorists, and deal with a crumbling world, and many other challenges. The middle class is being decimated and if a republican wins, it will be further eroded as more wealth is transferred to trump and his friends. A republican will also erode the benefits of Obamacare, and instead of fixing flaws and bringing in universal healthcare, the republicans are going to roll it back. Forget about the progressive angle of recreational drugs and even medical marijuana.

I may not get everything from Bernie, but he's going to do 85-90% of what I'd like and most importantly, we will not have a republican in office.

The important thing for me is to ensure we don't lose the next election and that we immediately start focusing our attention and money in defeating the republican candidate. So Hillary, for the good of the progressive left, for liberals, for everything you have purportedly fought for in your life, do not further divide our party - please resign. Endorse Bernie, but at the very least don't hurt him anymore.

Let's do the math. You're still about 70 pledged delegates away from winning the nomination. It's worse if you remove the super delegates from the picture. And you're only three million votes ahead of Bernie. With your limited foreign and government experience you may not be able to get things done.

So for the good of everything you have ever felt is important. Please withdraw and support your opponent (or don't, but stop trying to hurt the Democrats). Did I say Open Letter to Hillary? Sorry, I meant Bernie.

Staff segregated by gender at some UK Muslim schools

Source: TImes of India

LONDON: Teachers and other staff at some independent Islamic faith schools in the UK are facing gender-based segregation, prompting the country's schools watchdog to write to the education ministry.

Sir Michael Wilshaw, head of Ofsted, said his inspectors found one independent religious school using dividing screens across the room to segregate men and women.

"I am writing again to report that Her Majesty's Inspectors (HMI) continue to find that staff are being segregated because of their gender in Muslim independent schools," Wilshaw writes in his letter sent on Wednesday to UK education secretary Nicky Morgan.

Young asylum seeker stabs Swedish woman to death, police say

Refugee center worker stabbed to death in Sweden

(CNN)—A 15-year-old asylum seeker stabbed a refugee center worker to death Monday in Sweden in an incident that's not being classified as terrorism, police say.

The boy, who is in police custody, has not been identified, though his country of origin is known, said Hans Lippens, a police spokesman for the Västra Götaland region.

The incident happened at a home for asylum seekers younger than 18 where the boy was staying, about 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Mölndal town center, in the Gothenberg region of western Sweden. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, was alone with eight young male residents of the home, Lippens said. Only one is believed to have been directly involved, though police are questioning the seven other boys.

"This was not terrorism. We think it might have been an accident, or there was a fight," Lippens said. He added that police would release more information Tuesday, but because the youths are from different countries, they need various translators to interpret their statements.

Incidents involving asylum seekers in the Västra Götaland region are happening "more and more. We have a lot of work to do here" Lippens said, though "this is the worst case yet." He estimated the region is seeing an additional 50 asylum seekers every month, mostly from Syria and Afghanistan.
