Joe Biden is winning the electability primary ,,,,,

In their search for a presidential nominee, Democrats have argued about all manner of things.
They’ve debated “Medicare for All” and a “Green New Deal.” They’ve weighed a wealth tax and free college tuition. They’ve clashed over campaign donations from millionaires.
But their most important dispute isn’t about ideology or policy. It’s about a more elusive quality: electability.

Who is most likely to defeat President Trump in November? Many Democratic voters say that’s their top priority — not whether they agree with a candidate’s positions.
So far, the electability primary has a clear winner: former Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden’s campaign hasn’t been inspiring or error-free — far from it. He’s clung to first place in national polls, with support from about 28% of Democratic voters, but he’s running behind other candidates in Iowa and New Hampshire, where the first votes will be cast.
Nevertheless, when voters are asked who they think is most electable against Trump, Biden wins. Even some voters who prefer other candidates say Biden has the best shot.

Gov. Lamont plans to campaign for Joe Biden in New Hampshire 😎🦩🎨

Gov. Ned Lamont, an early endorser of former Vice President Joe Biden, is expected to campaign in New Hampshire with the front-running Democrat before the all-important primary on Feb. 11.
No date has been set, and plans have not yet been finalized with the Biden campaign, officials said.
Biden’s volunteers from Connecticut are planning to head to New Hampshire twice in January and once on the final weekend before the primary, said Martin Dunleavy, a former Democratic National Committee member for 22 years who is coordinating the Biden efforts. Dunleavy and others already made their first trip to New Hampshire, and they are expecting to rent a bus as the number of volunteers increases during the final month before the primary.
Connecticut supporters also plan to head to Iowa for five to 10 days during the final push before the caucuses on Feb. 3.

Joe Biden's new endorsement reflects battle for Latino support

https://triblive.com/news/politics-election/joe-bidens-new-endorsement-reflects-battle-for-latino-support/

Joe Biden’s presidential bid got a boost Monday from one of the leading Latinos in Congress, with the chairman of the Hispanic Caucus’ political arm endorsing the former vice president as Democrats’ best hope to defeat President Donald Trump.

“People realize it’s a matter of life and death for certain communities,” Rep. Tony Cárdenas, D-Calif., told The Associated Press in an interview, explaining the necessity of halting Trump’s populist nationalism, hard-line immigration policies and xenophobic rhetoric that the California congressman called cruel.

Cárdenas’ is the chairman of Bold PAC, the political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

His announcement follows presidential candidate Bernie Sanders’ weekend of mass rallies with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a freshman congresswoman from New York who has become a face of the progressive movement and a key supporter for the Vermont senator’s second White House bid.

The dueling surrogates highlight a fierce battle for the Hispanic vote between Sanders and Biden, whose campaigns each see the two candidates as the leading contenders. Biden leads the field among Democratic voters who are non-white, a group that includes Democratic voters who are Hispanic, with Sanders not far behind, according to national polling. Another top national contender, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, draws less support from non-white voters. There are few recent national polls with a sufficient sample of Hispanic Democratic voters to analyze them independently.

The dynamics also demonstrate the starkly different approaches that Biden and Sanders take to the larger campaign. Biden is capitalizing on his 36-year Senate career and two terms as Barack Obama’s vice president to corral Democratic power players across the party’s various demographic slices. Cárdenas joins four other Hispanic caucus members who’ve already backed Biden, a show of establishment support in contrast to some Latino activists who’ve battered Biden over the Obama administration’s deportation record. Sanders, true to his long Capitol Hill tenure as an outsider and democratic socialist, eschews the establishment with promises of a political revolution, just as he did when he finished as runner-up for Democrats’ 2016 nomination

Joe Biden says Trump will face uphill climb in Michigan

BATTLE CREEK, MI -- Former Vice President and 2020 Democratic primary hopeful Joe Biden attacked President Donald Trump in a statement released hours before Trump’s campaign rally in Michigan.

Biden said Trump will face an “uphill climb” to win Michigan for after the president’s work to undermine the Affordable Care Act. The 2020 primary contender has a central role in Trump’s presidency -- Trump is facing impeachment for soliciting Ukraine’s help to investigate Biden and his son’s business dealings in the country

“While Congress upholds its Constitutional duty to hold accountable the most corrupt president in modern history for his abuse of power, Donald Trump is returning to Michigan to fight for his political survival,” Biden said in a statement to MLive.

In addition to impeachment, Biden said Michigan voters will hold Trump accountable for his efforts to replace the Affordable Care Act. Biden has made strengthening the Obama administration law a key part of his health care agenda.

“Donald Trump knows that ripping away health care is a losing issue," Biden said. "As president, I will do everything in my power to protect and build on the Affordable Care Act, not tear it down.”

Biden’s plan calls for creating a public health insurance option, allowing people to join a Medicare-like program. The former vice president said this alternative is more attractive to union households and working voters than “Medicare for All” proposals that would eliminate private insurance and move everyone to government health care

Go Joe for Mich.....

Biden will be only candidate at center stage in Democratic debate....🖍🎨

Former Vice President Joe Biden will be the lone candidate at the center of the stage during Thursday’s Democratic presidential debate.
PBS NewsHour and Politico, the two news outlets sponsoring the event, announced the podium order for the debate on Tuesday. With only seven candidates expected to appear on stage, Thursday’s debate will be the first in which only a single candidate will take the middle podium.

Biden will be flanked by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to his right and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to his left. On Warren’s side of the stage will be South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) and tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang. Standing on Sanders’s side will be Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer.
The podium order was chosen based on the candidates’ averages in Democratic National Committee–approved polls conducted since the last debate on Nov. 20. The highest polling candidate — in this case Biden — was given the centerstage podium

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland endorses Biden for president

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland has endorsed Joe Biden for president, delivering important support from the state’s industrial working class regions while highlighting some of the former vice president’s potential challenges in the state.

Strickland, who led the state from 2007 to 2011, told The Associated Press in an interview on Monday that he knows and respects Biden and believes he has the best chance of beating President Donald Trump in Ohio. Strickland, a Democrat, spoke ahead of an official announcement expected Tuesday.

The 78-year-old former congressman said Biden’s electability is just one factor in his decision.

“He obviously is more experienced and more knowledgeable about foreign policy than the others,” Strickland said of Biden and his Democratic rivals. “I feel like the world would breathe a sigh of relief if he’s elected.”

He said Biden was a natural choice after that because the two have known each other for decades. Strickland served as national co-chair of the Obama-Biden presidential campaign, and Biden endorsed Strickland for U.S. Senate in 2016.
“Joe Biden will be able to, on Day One, begin to repair the damage of the Trump era and enable Americans to feel proud of their political leadership again,” Strickland said, calling Trump “an embarrassment.”
While the Obama-Biden ticket capitalized on Democrats’ reliable coalition of minorities and white urban liberals in Ohio,
