David Duke had a meltdown at the debate tonight

He's completely unhinged. I think he's been inspired by Trump.

Joy Reid: What It's Really Like To Cover This Election As A Black Female News Anchor

This excerpt is near the end of the article, but there's much more at the link.

Today, Michelle Obama is arguably the most popular public figure in the country (with the possible exception of Bernie Sanders). And she has spoken powerfully to the right of women to be valued and respected as she has stepped forward to help Hillary Clinton win the White House. But there was a time when the first lady wasn’t so beloved — when her patriotism was challenged, along with her husband’s national identity, when she was caricatured by her husband’s opponents as an angry, militant figure unsuited to the role of first lady. But Mrs. Obama has emerged after eight years in the White House as the embodiment of the modern American woman: her style, her poise, her fierce modernity, and her accomplishments — both before and after she and her family entered the White House — combined with her exceptional role modeling as a mother and first lady, have made her arguably the voice of a generation of women of all races. For a Black woman to occupy that space is itself revolutionary.

Likewise, Hillary Clinton has occupied every room in the American psyche. She has been loathed and beloved, respected and reviled, and her transition from first lady to a political leader in her own right as a United States senator, then secretary of state, and perhaps soon, president, has involved sour notes that nearly every woman can relate to. She has been “not girly enough,” not wifely enough, too bold, too ambitious, and too secretive for the tastes of many Americans. But her campaign has affirmed the value of smarts and preparation — which every woman at work, at school, and in life, can relate to. Whatever your view of her politics, it’s clear that Hillary Clinton has run a campaign of substance and ferociousness, taking on an opponent who couldn’t be toppled by 16 primary opponents, 15 of them men. If she emerges victorious on November 9, it will be because she did her homework, studied her adversary, learned his weaknesses and exploited them. She will have won, just as much as Trump will have lost.

Dear @WestgateResorts,
Can you confirm if this letter was sent to all of your employees urging them to vote for Donald Trump?

David Siegel was the subject of the 2012 documentary film Queen of Versailles.
Apparently this isn't the first time David Siegel has done this. This is from his Wikipedia page:

Siegel campaigned for George W. Bush in 2000.[16]

In a February 2012 interview by Susan Berfield, Siegel elaborated:

"Whenever I saw a negative article about Gore, I put it in with the paychecks of my 8,000 employees. I had my managers do a survey on every employee. If they liked Bush, we made them register to vote. But not if they liked Gore. The week before [the election] we made 80,000 phone calls through my call center—they were robo-calls. On Election Day, we made sure everyone who was voting for Bush got to the polls. I didn’t know he would win by 527 votes. Afterward, we did a survey among the employees to find out who voted who wouldn’t have otherwise. One thousand of them said so."[17]

During the 2012 United States elections, Siegel caused controversy and public debate when he sent a mass email to his employees, suggesting that they vote for Republican Party candidate Mitt Romney or he might have to take drastic measures in how he operated the company (including cutting back on his company's workforce).[18][19] In January 2015, it was noted that his company had experienced "the best year in our history" and he raised his company's minimum wage to $10 per hour.[20]

Welp, David Duke Qualified for the U.S. Senate Debate

David Duke, former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard and current white supremacist, has pulled enough support in his run for Louisiana’s U.S. Senate seat that he’ll participate in November’s televised debate. He’s excited:
David Duke @DrDavidDuke
Important News! I qualified for the U.S. Senate most important debate in Louisiana on Nov 2. I can't wait to tell truth nobody else dares!

Duke scratched together the minimum five percent support (5.1 percent, to be exact) required for a spot in the November 2 debate at the historically black Dillard University in New Orleans. He’ll appear in alongside Republican State Treasurer John Kennedy (24.2 percent), Democrat Foster Campbell (18.9 percent) and three others.

According to Politico, Duke has done very little campaigning, nor has he raised much money. Those two facts don’t seem to have discouraged his delusion that he’ll win, though. “I’ve got a great chance,” he told ABC, adding that “I always fly under the radar. If you look at the history of polling me in primary and previous races, I’ve always gotten at least two to three times more votes than the polls actually showed.”

Trump Planted A Story About Salma Hayek In The National Enquirer After She Refused To Date Him

During an appearance on the “El Show del Mandril” radio show on Friday, the actress told the hosts that she believed all the women who’ve accused the Republican nominee of sexual assault, before sharing her own experience with Trump.

“When I met that man, I had a boyfriend, and he tried to become his friend to get my home telephone number. He got my number and he would call me to invite me out,” Hayek said.

“When I told him I wouldn’t go out with him even if I didn’t have a boyfriend, he called — well, he wouldn’t say he called, but someone told the National Enquirer,” the actress said.

Allegedly, Trump (or ― just playing along here ― whoever made the call) told the outlet that it was in fact he who wouldn’t go out with Hayek. And the incredulous reasoning as to why he “wouldn’t” date her?

Hillary Clinton Extends Her Battleground Map Lead

Source: NBC News

Clinton expands her battleground-map lead

After one of the craziest weeks we can remember in the 2016 race -- the Access Hollywood audio of Trump, WikiLeaks, the nasty debate in St. Louis, the accusers against Bill Clinton, the accusers against Donald Trump, and plenty of new polls -- here's where the NBC battleground map stands. Hillary Clinton has expanded her lead and now has 287 electoral votes in her column, which is more than the 270 needed to win the White House. Trump has 157 electoral votes in his column, which is down more than 30 for him from last week. And we have 94 electoral votes in Tossup. Last week, our map was Clinton 268, Trump 190, and 80 in Tossup.

ETA: the map itself!
