Texas Catholic dioceses expected to release names of clergy accused of sexual abuse
I wonder if this will become a trend?
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The 15 Catholic dioceses in Texas will release the names of clergy accused of sexually abusing a minor from 1950 until present.
During a meeting in Austin, the Texas bishops agreed to jointly release the names as part of an "ongoing work to protect children from sexual abuse and promote healing and a restoration of trust in the Church."
"This is an action in response to the faithful's call for greater accountability and transparency. Every bishop in our state has made a statement expressing his concern for all who have been hurt, and I want to express my personal sorrow at such fundamental violations of trust that have happened. We are completely committed to eradicating the evil of sexual abuse in the church and promoting healing among the faithful and those injured by this crime," said Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston.
All dioceses are expected to release the names by Jan. 31, 2019, according to the release. The 15 dioceses participating in the project are Galveston-Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Amarillo, Beaumont, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Laredo, Lubbock, San Angelo, Tyler and Victoria.

When you're staggering and ineffectual, blame the devil!
Beelzebub, you befuddling bastard!
Pope Francis on Sunday said that the devil is trying to divide and attack the Catholic Church, as the Vatican wrestles with a series of sexual abuse scandals amid accusations that Francis covered for priests accused of sexual misconduct.
Francis said the church should also be more aware of its guilt, its mistakes and abuses.
"[The church must be] saved from the attacks of the malign one, the great accuser and at the same time be made ever more aware of its guilt, its mistakes, and abuses committed in the present and the past," Francis said from his balcony in Rome, Reuters reports.
He implored Catholics worldwide to pray every day throughout October for the Church to prevail through the devil's assault.

Priest engages in hanky-panky. Gets charged.
Tis a priest this time. Perhaps a "full blown" priest...
A Catholic priest has been charged with patronizing a prostitute.
Father Andrezej Pawlel Skrzypiec was arrested Aug. 24 near 200 North 900 West in Salt Lake City during an undercover prostitution sting where police were targeting "johns," according to a probable cause affidavit filed in 3rd District Court.
Fr. Skrzypiec initially accused the undercover officer as being a "cop," but eventually agreed to pay $30 for a sex act, the affidavit claimed. After making the agreement, Skrzypiec was arrested and charged with one count of patronizing a prostitute, a class-A misdemeanor.
The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City told FOX 13 that Fr. Skrzypiec is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of the charges. Over the weekend, a statement was read from the pulpit at Saint Ambrose Church in Salt Lake City and at J.E. Cosgriff Memorial School, where Skrzypiec worked.
