The FEC inaugural committee filings for donnie Rachel brought up tonite

As of right now I don't see and costs associated with it. Just the donations

Kind of tough going through it since it is only in a pdf form as of now.

http://www.fec.gov/fecviewer/CandidateCommitteeDetail.do?candidateCommitteeId=C00629584&tabIndex=1

This should bring you directly to the main FEC 58th presidential inaugural committee donations filings.

I did some quick googles of a few of the larger donations. A venture capitalist who moved to china in 2005, a coal company heir, a food services company chair, a media company. Stopped at that point just because there were so many more pages to go.

Edit to add a cable company donated $250,000 to it. Wonder what the expected to get out of it. Maybe no opt out tracking by the cable companies or killing net neutrality?

Disturbing video shows 10-year-old with autism arrested at school

Source: CBS News

A video clip posted online by a Florida mother shows the moment her 10-year-old son with autism was handcuffed, placed into a police car and taken from school.

In the shaky cellphone footage obtained by CBS News, Luanne Haygood can be heard asking two school resource officers, “Does a child not have the same rights as an adult?”

Florida school accused of punishing special-needs students by putting them in box

“I was extremely angry,” Haygood told CBS Miami last week. “I felt like this was a power play. I felt like this was a this is what you get. You can’t do anything about it. We’re going to arrest your son if he can’t abide by the rules,” she said.

The sheriff’s office said John Benjamin Haygood was arrested April 12 for felony battery on a school board authority. He spent time in juvenile detention.

Come on news media

Quit saying he's unpredictable. That is normalizing him. I think the closest to true was when Rick Wilson said he was like a gnat on cocaine. He has no attention span and is too busy trying to figure out ways to put tax payer dollars in his pocket to actually think about anything else.

Fossils are fake

Got your attention, huh?

This is a buyer beware post. For those interested enough to think about buying fossils.

About a year back it was brought up in a meeting at our gem and mineralogical society meeting that some fossils sold on ebay and other venues were cast replicas. I went home and checked out my fossils of about 15 trilobites one was a fake.

There were some pretty good fakes. I have seen since then one keichousaurus fake in person. If you looked closely it has some small bubbles from when it was cast. And the person who owned it had made a scratch to confirm his suspicions.

I had seen a full real keichousaurus fossil at a show. And really thought about getting one. But the cost was way over my budget at the time. I decide to look on line to see if i could get a better price. Knowing that there were fakes made. I started off looking at what the person was selling. Fossils like keichousaurus, trilobites, and some of the mosasaur in matrix had problems.

Most of the keichousaurus are imported from China. I looked at a some dealers and their sale history. I could see that they had previously sold the same "fossil" previously. And spotted the same fossil from other dealers. Sometimes they would show x-rays of what was supposed to be that fossil. But they also used the same x-ray in obviously different fakes.

I also spotted duplicate trilobites.

A lot of the mosasaurs jaws were the actual teeth in a cast made to look like it is a set of partial jaws. Having them attached to a jaw bone increases value by a lot. A few teeth may cost a couple bucks a partial jaw set 30-40 bucks.

BTW here is a museum replica cast keichousaurus from Australia.

So just a buyer beware if you ever think wow that would be neat to have.

Security CIA chief Pompeo calls WikiLeaks a hostile intelligence service

Source: The Washington Times

Warning Americans about the dangers of “false narratives” CIA Director Mike Pompeo on Thursday compared Wikileaks to “a hostile intelligence service” in his first major addresses since being tapped by President Donald Trump to lead America’s top spy agency.

“WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service,” Mr. Pompeo said during a speech at the Washington think tank, The Center for Strategic and International Studies. “It is like a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by foreign governments like Russia.

Last month the rogue leaking website published thousands of documents it described as secret CIA files detailing the agency’s hacking abilities, including tools it alleged the U.S. government uses to break into computers, mobile phones and even smart TVs.

Mr. Pompeo said WikiLeaks overwhelming focuses on the U.S. and encourages people to actually join the CIA to steal intelligence. He also targeted its founder, Julian Assange, and detailed his connections to Islamic terrorist organizations.

And another whiplash moment for the American public courtesy of dipshit donnie and his appointed cis chief. One of Dipshit donnie's comments on wikileaks from Nov. 4, 2016 "Boy, I love reading those WikiLeaks!"

As Mike Pompeo (CIA Chief) condemns wikileaks

dipshit donnie gives every one whiplash from all his changes in position. As his kids come in to try to save the help trump brand. All I can think of is.

For those interested in rocks, artifacts, and fossils in the Houston Texas area

And interested in paleontology, archaeology, minerals, etc. This is the place to go. I have been a member about 6 years. They have a great group of people there. If you are interested in joining or just finding out what that rock, fossil, or artifact is you can drop by and ask. A lot of knowledgeable people there. (Some from the Houston Museum of Natural Science.)

They have several field trips during the year collecting everything from fossils to minerals to crystals to special guided tours at the Museum of Natural Science, etc. Some trips are members only but others are open to anyone. One trip picked up a lot of really nice petrified wood. Including some log sections. I didn't have much luck on one of the fossil hunts but someone there found part of a fossilized bison. Other times clovis point arrow heads, early horse bones, and mammoth teeth.

They also have lapidary, faceting, jewelry making, silverlsmithing, wire wrapping groups, etc. They have equipment on site for working on pieces if you are a member.

They are open during the week but the hours are according to having a qualified volunteer on hand. You can contact them for more info on hours.

I have had a lot of fun not only learning how to make cabochons and going on field trips.

If interested here is their site. http://www.hgms.org/ They aren't real good at updating the actual site. But if you look at the latest newsletter it stays updated on times, trips, and other info.

Also here is a website I found really neat for the rock hounds. It has a state by state guide to locations you can rock hound at. A lot of open free places to go. http://www.findingrocks.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi

Also if you are interested and don't live near Houston I really recommend looking at your area for a mineralogical society.

A Full Border Wall With Mexico? Unlikely, Homeland Security Chief Says

Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON — John F. Kelly, the homeland security secretary, said Wednesday that it was doubtful that a wall along the full border with Mexico would ever be built, despite an oft-repeated campaign promise by President Trump.

“It is unlikely that we will build a wall from sea to shining sea,” Mr. Kelly told senators on the Homeland Security Committee.

Instead, Mr. Kelly said, the department would look to build physical barriers — including fencing and concrete walls — in places that made sense. He said the department was still studying the best places to construct such barriers, though he said he could not give an estimate of the cost.

The first bids for prototypes of the border wall were due Tuesday. According to people briefed on the agency’s plan, the first new section of the wall will be built on a short strip of federally owned land in San Diego, where there is already fencing.

So no full wall and want to demo part of the existing wall to build a new wall. Yep. makes sense to me
