A one-time pastor in Missouri known for going on social media rants against “gun-free zones” this week was arrested after he allegedly tried forcing three women to have sex with him — and shot one of them in the head after she refused.
USA Today reports that police say 53-year-old Thomas Bruce this week went into a Catholic Supply store, drew a gun, and forced three women working there to go with him into a back room.
After they went with them, he ordered them to “perform deviant sexual acts on him,” police allege.
One of the women refused to give in to his demands, which was when Bruce allegedly killed her with a shot to the head. This prompted the other two women to begin complying with his requests, and Bruce eventually fled the scene.
Police arrested Bruce on Wednesday and charged him with murder, sodomy and kidnapping.
According to USA Today, Bruce’s rants about gun control had continued right up until the time he allegedly kidnapped the three women.
Just last week, for example, he called for abolishing gun-free zones on the grounds that “we should stop expecting criminals to follow the rules.”

Appearing on CNN on Friday morning to address Donald Trump’s defense of the Saudi cover-up of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, an intelligence and security analyst said Democratic House members are ready to come after the president over possible financial entanglements with the Middle Eastern nation.
Speaking with host Jim Sciutto, former CIA case officer Robert Baer said he is already being flooded with calls from the newly empowered Democrats who will chair and hold majority positions of the House committees with the power to investigate Trump.
“The Saudi foreign minister already parroted back the president’s doubts about the CIA assessment [of the murder],” Sciutto began. “We are in a different situation because you have Democrats taking over the House.”
“That gives Democrats powerful chairmanships of committees, and we have Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) now who will be the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee saying, among the things, that he wants the committee to investigate is whether Trump Organization has financial ties in Saudi Arabia that is influencing the president’s decision here,” the CNN host continued. “How impactful could an investigation like that be?”
“Oh, Jim, it’s going to be huge,” Baer enthused. “I have already gotten e-mails this morning from Congress asking who should they put in front of committees.”
“They’re going to come after this president with hatchets, these Democrats,” he explained. “They’re going to uncover a lot of financial connections that go back years. I mean, essentially Russia and Saudi Arabia floated, you know, the Trump property empire in its bad times — a lot of investments from the royal family, current ones I don’t know.”
“But that’s certainly going to go on, these hearings, for the next two years, you can count on it,” he assured the CNN host.

While no one knows special counsel Robert Mueller’s next moves, former National Security Agency analyst John Schindler knows one thing for certain: President Donald Trump’s efforts to kill the Mueller probe have all been massive failures.
Writing in the Spectator, Schindler says that Trump’s surprise win in the 2016 presidential election may be one that he will live to regret, as it’s drawn new scrutiny to his years of shady business dealings.
“It has all caught up with The Donald, and there’s no way out,” he writes. “The president has desperately sought exits since his first days in office, when he compared America’s spies to Nazis for knowing his secrets… It hasn’t worked, instead having the opposite effect, and America’s spies loathe Trump as they have no other president.”
Schindler then turns to Trump’s decision to give Attorney General Jeff Sessions the boot and then replace him with Matt Whitaker, a political loyalist who has in the past been highly critical of Mueller’s investigation.
He speculates that Trump may have brought on Whitaker thinking he could cripple the probe, but he says any such plans have now backfired spectacularly given bipartisan blowback to his appointment as acting AG.
“Whitaker lacks the political capital to do much of anything at this point, so Trump has no decent cards left to play,” he writes. “The White House may try to sink the Mueller inquiry still, in an act of kamikaze-like desperation, but that will only blow up the administration too… President Trump, all his exits blocked, and off-ramps folded up, has settled on rage-tweeting at Bob Mueller as his salve.”
