Huffpost headline: New Report Prompts Call for Democrats to Halt Transfer of Power to Trump Before

The Strategic Institute for Intersectional Policy (SIIP) has called for an immediate halt to all efforts related to the transfer of power between the Obama Administration and the Trump Campaign. This call came after a recent analysis revealed that there is strong evidence to suggest that Donald Trump and the members of his campaign intentionally engaged in voter suppression tactics in an attempt to alter the results of the 2016 Presidential Election. Further, the strategic deployment of voter suppression tactics was designed, refined and implemented over the course of a number of years by a network of organizations and individuals attempting to secure power for the alt-right.

This alt-right network has pushed the envelope of political legality since Watergate and the Reagan Administration. It is comprised of white nationalists that have worked strategically to infiltrate local and state governments, members of the Republican party, alt-right media strategists; conservative policy think tanks and generous donors.

An interesting read: I am one of those 538 National Elector's and yes the Electoral College is in p

I am one of the Electoral College Electors from Colorado. This is by virtue of Hillary Clinton prevailing in Colorado (moving me from a nominated certified Elector to “actual” Elector). Late last week I canvassed half my fellow CO Electors beginning with Micheal Baca, who is mentioned here in the Denver Post article: Colorado presidential elector seeks to block Donald Trump from White House, also talked to numerous political reporters both print and national on line media, (AKA; John Frank the author of the above article and Kyle Cheney from Politico, author of this article, Here are the people who will cast the formal vote for president next month, political science and presidential history university scholars, law school professors, political professionals, elected and government officials and I have come to this conclusion: INDEED THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS IN AN HISTORIC PLAY. Where this goes is speculation but sentiment is building that the Electors cannot sit by and be ceremonial.

Email template for #auditthevote

I apologize if this has already been posted. It came it to my FB feed via PANTSUIT NATION

EMAIL TEMPLATE for #auditthevote
* There is substantial and growing evidence that Russia hacked election results. Petition the DOJ and your elected officials for a Risk Limiting Audit of the election results.
I would encourage you to adapt this and send it ASAP to any and all. Time is running out, but we have a chance to make this right!! This MUST happen before December 13.
If you need help finding contact info for any of your elected officials, please let me know.
DOJ: voting.section@usdoj.gov
THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IF YOU LIVE IN FL, NC, WI, MI, or PA! Any principled elected representatives in these states should be strongly in favor of this because the popular vote margins were quite simply impossibly thin.
**********************
Dear (name),
I am a concerned (US citizen/constituent), living in (city, state). I am now reaching out to ask for your immediate assistance and action on an issue of grave importance: the Presidential Election.
I would like to request your support in initiating a Risk Limiting Audit of the 2016 Presidential Election.
There are simply too many "smoking guns" pointing to a possible election fraud, including Russian tampering, and extremely narrow margins and/or drastic turnabouts in states that were clearly indicated by exit polls to be leaning heavily Democratic. Statistically, it is basically impossible for each of these things to have occurred “naturally”.
Here is an excellent piece from USA Today, dated 11/18/2016, on the various questions raised by these issues, and what we as concerned citizens and elected officials can do about it: http://www.usatoday.com/…/election-audit-paper-ma…/93803752/
Here is another fascinating look at this, which explains that a large number of 'coincidences' had to occur simultaneously for the election results to have turned out in this way:
"In order to believe that the official vote tallies are legitimate, you have to accept that all of the above legitimately happened: African-Americans in the south went from turning out in droves for Hillary Clinton in the primary to not caring if she won the general election. Donald Trump got perhaps seventy percent of the same-day voting in Florida. The polling averages were wrong for the first time in modern history. Trump beat his poll numbers despite having spent the primary season tending to fall below them. Clinton fell below her poll numbers despite having spent the primary season tending to beat them. In every state where Trump pulled off a shocking upset victory, he just happened to do it with one percent of the vote. And in an election that everyone cared particularly deeply about, no one really turned out to vote at all. I can accept any one of the above things happening as an isolated fluke. I cannot accept all the above happening."

Please consider throwing your considerable power and your voice behind this extremely important and highly time-sensitive issue. America can NOT accept the results of a potentially rigged election. There is simply too much at stake for our communities, our country, the environment, and our standing on the global stage.
Thank you sincerely for your consideration.

How can we help those who are feeling scared?

Okay -- we're all feeling scared...downright petrified. But me, as a middle-aged white woman - have that "white privilege" going for me. I suppose the next 4 years might be a bit more oppressive for me, but nothing like the fear that Muslim Americans, Latinos, AAs and young women may experience.

In that vein, I'm wondering what I, as an individual -- or what we -- as a community can do to support one another. Today I was thinking about the "pay if forward" model, or just reaching out and doing something nice, helpful, generous to those who are feeling especially vulnerable.

I'd like to start a dialogue to see what ideas others have. I do plan on joining the ACLU and doing whatever I can as an individual to stayed informed and voice my opinion, but I want to do something personal to show that I stand united, in love and kindness.

Your thoughts?

Not sure if already posted on DU: Janet Reno, First Female U.S. Attorney General, Dies At 78

Janet Reno, the first female attorney general of the United States, has died of complications from Parkinson’s disease, relatives told the AP and CNN.

She was 78.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Reno became attorney general under President Bill Clinton in 1993. She ran the Justice Department during some of the administration’s most prominent controversies, including the raid of a Waco, Texas, cult compound that left over 80 people dead and the decision to return 6-year-old Elián González to his father in Cuba. Reno was also caught in the crosshairs of many of Clinton’s personal legal troubles.

What will be known by tonight? tomorrow night and Monday night about the election?

I assume that the HRC folks will know A LOT more about where things stand with respect to early voting across the 37 states and most importantly from critical swing states by tonight, tomorrow night and Monday night.

For those folks who are crunching numbers and putting out information into the twitter-sphere, what will we DU'ers likely know about trends. We already know the NV seems locked up for Hillary and Florida is trending our way. What I would like to know is what else do we know about Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Arizona...and other states.

I'm feeling relatively confident, but of course there are still those wonky polls out there and 538 out there that make us all frustrated and maybe a little nervous too.
