"Ranking member, it's Lieutenant Colonel Vindman."

I loved the way Lt. Col. Vindman pointed that out to Nunes. Almost as if Nunes has no respect whatsoever for the Colonel.

Mayor Pete rally

So I'm here at a rally for Mayor Pete and I have to say, I'm impressed. There is quite a crowd here at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA and we are all chatting and getting along no matter our choice for PotUS. A big fearsome biker dude I know (really he's a liberal pussycat) chatting with a little old lady, I'm talking to some younger college student, and so on. The common theme is, GET RID OF TRUMP AND THE REPUKES!!!! Sorry about the all caps, but that message needs to be shouted out from the roof tops. Hope the Mayor arrives soon. More later.

Now I feel bad, teaching my kid cuss words

See, whenever trump is shown on TV, which is constantly, I instinctively blurt out, "trump is a dirty bastard". Now my 10(almost 11 which she wont let me forget) year old daughter says it every time she sees his ugly face on the tube. I dont want my child to swear, but this dirty basyard brings out the worst in me.

The '70's were a long time ago

I can tell you that I have changed a great deal since those days. So why am I saying this? Because if I can change, so can others. Joe Biden for instance. Things were a lot different back then and younger people have to understand that. We can all change and evolve, provided we have something resembling a brain.
Kamala Harris and others seem to be intelligent people. So stop and think before you give repukes any more ammo to beat our candidate, whomever he or she may be.

Well, Biden's coming in to town today

And Paul McCartney is playing the area as well. Gee, I wonder who will get the most attendees? Since Sir Paul sold out in about 20 minutes or something, I'd say he will. But it doesn't cost over a thousand dollars to see Biden.
Personally, I'd rather see the Worlds greatest Rock and Roll band, the Rolling Stones. But I think I'll go to the Biden rally.

My city is drowning

I live in the city of Davenport. IA and there is a major flood underway. It's been going on for about a month now and it's getting worse because of snow melt up north, etc. Today, there was a breach in one of the hesco barriers and the water flowed in. There are a number of businesses down there and may never recover. Oh, I guess I didn't mention that Davenport is on the banks of the Mississippi River.
The downtown area has a number of small businesses as earlier stated, as well as apartments, not to mention the bus station. It's been raining a lot the past couple of days so that isn't helping. Lots of coverage at www.kwqc.com.

Trump congratulates NFL draft pick

The second man picked, not the first pick. See, Kyler Murray is a black man and he was the top pick. Nick Bosa is a white man who has supported trump publicly. Congratulations to Kyler Murray, no. 1 pick in the NFL draft. I hope he makes Bosa look foolish when they face each other.

Things I learned from my old man

My dad is in a nursing home, he has dementia, probably early onset of Alzheimer's. Consensus around the family is that it's unlikely that he will make through this year(2019). He is confined to a wheel chair and for a guy like him, who has been active his whole life that is killing him, so to speak.
Anyway, I have been thinking about things he taught his kids throughout our lives and it's simple. Be kind, be respectful towards ALLpeople, have morals and values, be honest at all times. Work hard but take time to have some fun, and use common sense even while following your heart. Just things that normal people do every day. Did I mention that he's a life long Democrat? Yep, that's another thing he taught us. Dems are best. Republicans are bad. He disliked Nixon and absolutely abhors trump. His mind isn't completely gone yet.
He practices what he preaches. He used to go to the prison in Anamosa almost every Saturday to visit a guy who used to play in his band and made a HUGE mistake. Not many would do that. Anyway, thank you for indulging me. If anyone reads this, I hope you weren't too bored. Peace.

To the terrorist sending the bombs

You can't win. This won't scare us, it'll only make us more defiant and determined to get trash like you off the streets.
I was talking to a couple of people at a local grocery store a few minutes ago and that seemed to be the prevailing sentiment. It is one I share. It seems that Clapper said something like that as well. I imagine that a guy like Biden would just tell the guy to kiss his ass as well
So any copycat types out there, don't even think about it. You can't win. Those of us who are really law abiding citizens will vote your heroes out soon enough.

October 20, 2018

Well, I voted earlier today.

Really easy. I'm and out in about 5 minutes. One thing I noticed about the ballots though. It used to be that there was an oval one could fill in for straight party voting. Now there's not. Doesn't matter, I voted straight ticket anyway. Just pay attention to the ballot and fill in the ovals accordingly.
