More very bad news for Trump: His poll numbers just hit a bunch of new lows

President Trump is dealing with a budding scandal after firing FBI Director James B. Comey on Tuesday.

But even before that, he appears to have hit a new low with the American people.

A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows Trump's disapproval rating rising to 58 percent — a new high in Quinnipiac's regular polling and the highest in a high-quality, non-tracking poll since his inauguration. Just 36 percent approved of Trump's job performance.

...
The Quinnipiac poll also shows the president's favorable rating — more of a personal measure than a job measure — dropping to a new low of 35 percent. The percentage of Americans who strongly approve of him is tied for an all-time low at 25 percent. And the percentage who strongly disapprove has reached an all-time high of 51 percent.

Trump also has his worst numbers to date — across 10 Q polls since the 2016 election — on the following measures:

Honesty: 33 percent say he is
Good leadership skills: 56 percent say he doesn't have them
Caring about average people: 59 percent say he doesn't
Being levelheaded: Voters say 66-29 percent that he's not (unlike the other numbers here, this is tied for all-time worst, not setting a new one)
Being intelligent: Voters say 56-41 percent that he is
Sharing your values: Voters say 64-32 percent that he doesn't
How he has treated the news media: Voters disapprove 65-31 percent
Whether people trust him or the media more for the truth: 57 percent media, 31 percent Trump (even 17 percent of Republicans pick the media over their president)
Interestingly, the reason the numbers have ticked down appears to be the group that elected Trump in the first place: white, working-class voters. Whites without college degrees approved of Trump 57 percent to 38 percent in the mid-April Q poll and 51-39 percent in late March/early May; today they are split, with 47 percent approving and 46 percent disapproving.

Carter Page, under scrutiny in Russia probe, praises Comey firing

(CNN)Carter Page, one of a handful of top former Donald Trump aides under sharp scrutiny by congressional Russia probes, praised the President's firing of FBI Director James Comey, saying Wednesday that he had been a victim of civil rights abuses and a "fake" Russia investigation.

"Yesterday's decision to hold Mr. Comey accountable for his well-publicized missteps on July 5, 2016, and October 28, 2016, are likely to be just the tip of the iceberg given the completely fake Russia allegations against myself and others which he vigorously perpetuated in his Congressional testimonies," Page said in a letter obtained by CNN.
Page, a former foreign policy adviser to Trump during the election, also emphasized Wednesday that he had never met Trump in person.

I just can't believe this charade is being allowed to continue in this country.

Trump "Bodyguard" who delivered Comey termination letter is ANOTHER SECURITY RISK!

(CNN) Few people inside Donald Trump's orbit are more important than Keith Schiller, the President's longtime bodyguard who has risen from part-time hired muscle to director of Oval Office operations.

Schiller joined the Trump Organization as a part-time bodyguard in 1999 after an assistant district attorney put in a good word for him with the real estate mogul. Formerly a NYPD detective who served in the Navy, Schiller quickly moved up the ladder with Trump, from temporary employee to bodyguard to Trump's head of security in 2005.

Friends from high school say Schiller never shied away from a fight during his younger years, a trait that has stayed with him. When protesters gathered around Trump tower during the campaign, Schiller ripped a sign out of one man's hands a punched him when he tried to grab it back.

TRUMP’S WHITE HOUSE SECURITY AIDE KEITH SCHILLER HAS HISTORY OF FINANCIAL WOES
By Jeff Stein On Tuesday, March 14, 2017 - 14:39

Updated | Keith Schiller, the former Trump Organization security chief whom the president has brought into the White House as director of Oval Office operations, has a long trail of tax liens and mortgage foreclosures, according to financial records reviewed by Newsweek.

Schiller and his wife Lena were sued three times for unpaid taxes, once by New York State and twice by the IRS, the last instance as recently as four years ago, publicly available records show. A decade ago, two of their properties, one in New York and one in Florida, were foreclosed for nonpayment.

In early February, Newsweek filed a Freedom of Information suit against multiple federal agencies, including the FBI, to learn how a number of Trump appointees were given access to classified information despite allegations of criminal histories and foreign connections that should have raised red flags in the reviewing process.

A government employee struggling with financial problems is considered a security risk, according to the Department of Homeland Security’s 2014 guideline on “insider threats.” Schiller’s troubled financial history also raises questions about the rigor of the security vetting process, which has periodically come under scrutiny since early January, when CNN revealed several instances of plagiarism by Monica Crowley, Trump’s pick for a top spot in the White House National Security Council. She was forced to withdraw from the post and her publisher deep-sixed her 2012 best-selling book, What the (Bleep) Just Happened.

CNBC - "Its time to seriously consider that Trump is unfit to be president"

It is quite clear that this president is unfamiliar with constitutional law and, understandably, may not yet heard about the 25th Amendment.
For his edification, Section IV of the Amendment states:
"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

*******!!!!
Since taking the oath of office, he has impugned his predecessors and, according to some published estimates, made over 400 unsubstantiated claims in the mere three months he has sat in the Oval.
And, since March of 2015, when then citizen Trump began exploring a run for the White House, I maintained that he did not have the requisite skills, temperament or character to occupy the Oval Office.
His most recent behavior not only confirms those observations, in my opinion, but also goes well beyond the realm of being simply ill-suited for the job.
For the good of the country, our people, our allies, and to a much lesser extent, even our enemies, Congress should give that amendment a fresh look and, if agreed, make use of it.
103 days already seems too long.

Trump SCREAMED AT TELEVISION over Russia investigation - advisor

President Donald Trump weighed firing his FBI director for more than a week. When he finally pulled the trigger Tuesday afternoon, he didn't call James Comey. He sent his longtime private security guard to deliver the termination letter in a manila folder to FBI headquarters.

He had grown enraged by the Russia investigation, two advisers said, frustrated by his inability to control the mushrooming narrative around Russia. He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn’t disappear and demanded they speak out for him. He would sometimes scream at television clips about the probe, one adviser said.

Holy shit.

We are in serious danger.

BBC - Did President Trump fire James Comey as part of a cover-up?

Donald Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey caught Washington by complete surprise. No one - in Congress, in conservative circles, even in the FBI itself - seemingly had an inkling of what was in store.
As politicians and pundits survey the fallout, here are a few of the big questions they are likely to contemplate.
Was it a cover-up?
The abruptness and timing of Mr Comey's dismissal, to put it mildly, is highly suspicious.
Just over a week ago, the FBI director talked about his agency's investigation into Russian meddling in the US presidential election - and possible Russian ties to the Trump campaign - before a Senate committee.
He was scheduled to appear before Congress again to discuss "worldwide threats" on Thursday.

Trump Hires Law Firm to Fight Suggestions of Russia Business Ties title

Source: NBC NEWS

President Donald Trump has hired a Washington law firm to send a letter to a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee saying he has no connections to Russia, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Tuesday.

Spicer's revelation was in response to a question from reporters on a briefing about committee member Sen. Lindsey Graham's remarks that he wants to look into whether Trump has any business dealings with Russia.

"The president, obviously, was aware of Senator Graham's suggestion after he made it today and he's fine with that. He has no business in Russia. He has no connections to Russia. So he welcomes that," Spicer said.

Trump is in serious CYA mode.

Under Russian direction?

It's LEAK TIME!

If Comey has the goods on Trump, he probably already gave them to Congress.

If not, he should give the info to the press.

The truth shall set you free - but not until it's finished with you.
