Hugh_Lebowski's JournalJust saw a Walmart ad that's just incredibly irresponsible ...
All short clips of all these unmasked people getting together in close proximity, and the jist of the ad is that basically Christmas is all about getting together with your family.
It's freaking terrible.
I know it's kinda old now (2017-2018) but just watched Counterpart on Amazon Prime
Starring the always-great JK Simmons. There is only 2 Seasons but it wraps up nicely so you don't feel like DAMN IT when it ends because the writers thought they'd have more time before it was cancelled.
Damn good sci-fi story, much of which took place in the past (relative to the main storyline), and these 'past' things are slowly revealed over the entire 2 seasons ... little mysteries are made understandable, etc ... it really kinda feels like one big long movie.
The acting is all top-notch, takes place in Germany but not that much of it is outside so unfortunately you don't get a lot of the local flavor in terms of scenery but there's some.
If you like mildly sci-fi stuff (by that I mean it's more Bladerunner than Star Wars) and want something new to watch ... I recommend!
The NFL equivalent of a car wreck might be coming up this afternoon for those who like rubbernecking
ALL the Denver Broncos quarterbacks are in COVID quarantine right now and ineligible to play.
They are looking at starting either a running back, or bringing up a wide receiver from the practice squad who played some QB in college at Wake Forest.
The 4-6 Broncos are facing one of the best defenses in the league in the New Orleans Saints, who are 8-2 and riding a 6 game win streak into the contest.
This ... is going to be freaking hilarious if the league doesn't decide to postpone it at the last minute.
I think they might, but we'll see.
son volt - right on through (studio-1998) great tune from the classic Wide Swing Tremolo cd

What's your favorite super-simple, super-cheap, super-good food item to make yourself?
For me ... hands down ... my favorite is homemade salsa!
Tomatoes, Onions, Cilantro, Jalapeno and/or Serranos, and Salt
Put ingredients in food processor and pulse a few times. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Done.
The simplicity + how freaking good it is is pretty much unmatched in my humble opinion. It's borderline magical really.
Sure there's other things you can add ... lime juice, cumin, chili powder, garlic, and oregano for example. But you don't NEED anything but the five ingredients above.
So useful in so many ways too ...
ray lamontagne - such a simple thing (live-2018) bonus: the great john stirratt (wilco) on bass
such a beautiful song for this thanksgiving afternoon ...
