On dearie dear.

I wanted to like the royal wedding so much.

Listening to the preacher.

"God's" love is not unconditional. It depends on unconditional belief in "his" "son.". Whom "he" tortured and murdered. Also, the "son" invented Hell.

(I don't believe in any of this except as mythology, so I am using quotes a lot.)

And I have heard bad things about her charity, World Vision, through Kiva. I used to put a lot of money into Kiva through the A&A group, until I became disenchanted with Kiva as well. I wish better than I have heard for both of them.

We really need to recognize mythology as mythology. It can be useful. And it is true as literature and guidance. It's just not true as fact, any more than any work of fiction is.

Tracee Ellis Ross for President. That is all.

Well, not all.

a) On Van Jones. CNN.

b) It appears to be a repeat, although it is the first time I have seen it.

She is a first-rate observer, thinker, and communicator.

Boston African-American median net worth $8.

One of Spotlight's most daunting findings is the economic disparity between whites and blacks in Boston.

Using data from the Federal Reserve of Boston, Spotlight found that non-immigrant African-Americans in the Boston area had a median net worth of $8. "That means they owe almost as much as the combined value of what they own, be it a car, or house, or savings," Spotlight writes.

Tricare prescription question

I recently went on Medicare and Tricare for life.

My first 90 days of mail-order prescriptions was $20, three prescriptions being $0 and one being $20.

My next 90 days changed to $7 and $24, respectively, for a total of $45.

I'm not complaining - just wondering if this was already in the works or was the doing of our wonderful new administration, if anyone happens to know off the top of their head.

Oh lay off Bernie.

I am posting this here because I do not wish to cause annoyance for myself, but still...

Bernie is an FDR Dem, regardless of stated affiliation.

Yeah, I know about FDR's drastic mistakes.

We move on and do the best we can.

Bernie is in better shape than I am; I am many years younger.

Yes, I know we have an unfortunate binary system. Hope to fix it.

I have been banned from both the Hillary group (by my request) and the Bernie group (stupidly, IMHO) in the past.

Please lay off Bernie, and other contenders.

Que sera, sera.

The fact that Y2K can be considered "pointless hype"

Is entirely due to the hard work of many, many underappreciated programmers.

Hmmm, well. I just looked at the author, having come across something in the article I found questionable. I'm still leaving it as the best I found so far.

I'm still looking for a documentary I *know* exists. Title was, IIRC, "The Unsung Heroes of Y2K."

Kindle Fire/Amazon/eBay

What's the deal?

eBay keeps threatening my app will stop working. It's version 2.something and is the highest version in the Kindle app store. eBay wants 5 and above, and gives me a download link, but I'd prefer to go through the Kindle app store.

I've not queried eBay (yet), but when I queried Amazon they a) said it was eBay's fault and b) handed me five bucks. Weird.

Anybody know the background of what looks like a feud going on here?

How we can help Doug Jones.

Question for legal eagles.

Mayor Cruz is a native-born US citizen.

So, that means she can run for President, right?

Just wondering.

Anybody else in this group want to throw things at the TV every time Jonathan Capehart opens his mouth?

Adding link by request - I figured people here would remember vividly, as I do. Capehart has a lot of gall to call himself a journalist.
