Excellent essay about real options we have for North Korea

Too bad it is more than 140 charecters

How to Take Down Kim Jong Un

Stop saying there are no good options on North Korea. Here’s how we can end the threat once and for all—without firing a shot.

At my Senate confirmation hearing a few years ago, I made a promise to the panel deciding my fate: never to use the phrase “there are no good options.” After all, if there were obvious solutions to the hardest—and most interesting—problems we face in the world, they would already have been found. Our job in the U.S. government—I served in the State Department as an assistant secretary focused on human rights—was not to make excuses in such situations, but to use whatever inherently limited tools we had to try to make things better, and to avoid making them worse.

North Korea tests this proposition like nothing else. Since its latest provocative missile test, thoughtful observers have pointed out that neither sanctions nor diplomacy are likely to dissuade Kim Jong Un from deploying nuclear weapons that can reach the United States, that we cannot depend on China to stop him for us, but that the alternative of a military strike on North Korea could cause a war that would lay waste to our ally South Korea. When it comes to North Korea, the phrase “there are no good options” has become a mantra.

I think we need to we need to put some regulation on weed while legalizing it.

It cant be sold willy nilly

I am an occasional toker.

I lit up one day couple months ago .. Just one joint and 10 minutes I was totally blown.. A little while later i started having panic attacks .. I imagined that the weed was laced with some crazy shit.. My heart was pounding so hard that I could hear it whooshing past my corotid arteries. I managed to get to bed and measure my blood pressure .. It was crazy high .. I then did what I had to ..call 911... The responders came ..my mind was still very crazy but i managed to explain.. They saw my blood pressure was out of whack and decided to take me ER immediately .. They also took my stash to have it tested.

The next hour is a blur..I think they gave me an injection to calm me down ..

That helped me get my shit together. Once I woke up, the nurse came back and and explained the weed was not laced.. It was however a potent strain known to cause paranoia. The stash was handed to the cops ( my name wasnt given to them)

I had no clue that pot could do this to you. I think we need rules around what can be sold.

I personally have sworn off it. Sad but true.

We need to restrict the pardon powers of a president

He should not be able to Pardon

1) himself
2) Any Family or Friend
3) anyone connected to a campaign to elect him/her president ( including campaign contributors/ staff)
4) Political Apointees

This is common sense and I wonder why these restrictions werent put in place already. Any reason why we shouldnt do this?

What us fucking purpose of the Electoral college if it cant keep guys like TRUMP out of

The whitehouse.

The EC is supposed to have kept Trump out EVEN if he had won popular vote. The fact that they voted him in regardless shows the utter futility of that body.

Its way past time to get rid of the useless electoral college.
