Reading on Twitter that Curt Schilling was just arrested as well

Not sure if it's true but here's the link:

Parents need to ask the one important question regarding reopening schools:

Disclaimer- I am a special education teacher and have been teaching children with autism for over 25 years. I am deeply devoted to my students and feel for their parents who have been doing an incredible job over the past few months.

My classroom is within a PreK-grade 8 public school building. There are 6 classes with the exact makeup of mine, different age levels/grades. My students have significant behavior issues, cannot distance, require a 1:1 aide directly next to them all day.
They cannot control sneezes, coughs, or other body fluids. They have spitting behaviors, wipe their noses with their hands, fingers in noses all day. We try to address these issues but it is a constant struggle.

My students are within the main hallways, bathrooms, nurses office, cafeteria, gym, library, entrances, exits, etc. all day. Many are in inclusion classes which is mandated by their IEP. While we are a self-contained class we utilize public areas with the general student population.

I will be putting myself and my family at great risk this September. Our NJ governor, Phil Murphy has mandated school return to in person learning this September. He has said masks are recommended for students, not required.

Every parent needs to ask their principal if students like mine are in the building. I guarantee you none of the parents of students in the building, are aware of the risk my students pose. This also includes special education parents who do not know the unhygienic behavior of other students in the class due to privacy laws.

I am aware of how this may come across and how it sounds. However, I fully believe this is a case of life and death. I cannot believe the Governor would ignore such a public health concern and wonder how he will address the first student or teacher death due to Covid and directly linked to his decision to open the schools.

As a teacher I have not been asked or polled about how I feel about returning or even if I plan on it. I have to as I need my job and my family needs my benefits. As school is mandated I believe that is why we have not been given the choice. I am terrified to return to my classroom.

The NEA is having a nationwide town hall meeting of members Friday at 3:00

Every teacher I know is attending...hoping for some guidance through this return to school madness. Gov. Murphy's plan does not require masks for students and mandates some sort of in-person learning starting in September.

I teach special education students who cannot cover their coughs, sneezes, or saliva . They have behaviors which include spitting, licking, biting, etc. We are within a public school K-8 building. There will be no social distancing as we need to be physically next to many of them so they do not ru. Every student and teacher is at risk from my students who will be in the hallways, nurse, common areas, etc. We have been told to bring our own masks and wipes as the school is not providing. The "plan" now is to bring every student back at the same time and have them leave 2 hours early. This is incredibly risky. I believe most parents do not know the risks involved with certain students within the building who may not take precautions seriously. Most of my daughter's high school classmates are not planning on wearing masks, during that Murphy has said they are encouraged and not required.

Murphy has left all plans up to individual districts and each one is doing something different, which makes it extremely hard for working parents (which I thought was the so-called "purpose" to return). For example, my daughter will go one week in and two weeks off sound distance learning.

The entire things a mess and I am hearing rumblings that the unions will become involved.

Hell has FROZEN OVER!!!

My father has been a T.rump supporter from day one. Voted Rethuglican his entire life (he is 82, wealthy, retired and living comfortably in NNJ suburbs). Two weeks ago he said T.rump was brilliant, 140 IQ, handling everything well.
Lawn signs, Maga hat, etc. We go over to visit today and he announces he is DONE with T.rump, he is a fool, cannot speak over a first grade level, he lies constantly, and he is through watching FOX news as they all lie as well!! He is voting for Biden!

Of course I almost fell off my chair, as our relationship has been strained since the election. I did not gloat but did point out T.rumps lies surrounding Covid-19 as I think this is what was the final straw. He did venture outside for the first time in 3 months and saw firsthand how the world had changed. We are still under lockdown/curfew in our area and he is losing his mind with boredom and I think he blames T.rump for screwing everything up.

I still blame him for being directly responsible for where we are now by supporting T.rump and I will never forgive that. My parents are the only supporters I have not cut completely out of my life (many friends and family, including a brother). However just wanted to share this glimmer of hope..maybe many other die-hard supporters are also abandoning him.

Not wanting to jinx anything but the way things are lining up..

We may be celebrating voting T.rump out of office in November and the Covid-19 quarantine being lifted around the same time? Can you imagine the celebration? Fingers crossed of course but this vision keeps me going.

I was in Wegman's yesterday

Right when they opened at 6 am to avoid the crowds. Overnight they implemented a limit on buying (2) of everything like cereals, canned goods, paper products, frozen foods, etc. You had to put in a shopper's card which tracked how many you bought..I asked the cashier if your limit was "reset" after a day or so and he said no- for now it will not be reset and that is all you will be allowed in the near future. I don't know what happens if you do not have a card but the line to get cards was long.

My child's high school has a trip planned to Solona Co. Calif next week...

Which is where of course the first human to human transmission of COVID-19 emerged. The trip is in 10 days. Incredulously, the school has no plans to cancel..one of the chaperones said it never crossed her mind. The students will be flying across the country, living in the community, and touring San Francisco for four days. My teen thinks I'm overreacting and everything will be fine. Besides the possibility of contracting the virus, I am worried about the possibility of the group being quarantined in California with families who agreed to host the students. Should I be pressuring the school to cancel? The few parents I have contacted look at me like I'm crazy..thanks for all advice in advance!

As horrific as the Baltimore comments are

They easily served the purpose of distraction once again. #I am Baltimore is trending instead of the impeachment inquiry...shiny object, mission accomplished (and my son lives in Baltimore in an awesome, tight-knit, diverse neighborhood- love, love that city)

Today's NY Post cover...

I know, I know, but this is what my parents are reading this morning: "Trump Clean!" in the biggest font possible...also on every newsstand in NYC for low-information voters to see..sickening!

I know it won't happen but Mueller needs to make a statement

I'm going back and forth between extreme anger and defeat..fueled of course by my parents and brother gloating right now. I'm one that did believe in Mueller's character with his years of service, etc..bill we were sold. If he truly is that upstanding public servant then he needs to put out some kind of statement immediately. He cannot be happy with this mischaracterization of his work (or maybe he is in which case we are truly screwed).

Someone with some knowledge of the report needs to either leak it or make a statement TONIGHT.
