Trump's Trade Adviser Apologizes for 'Inappropriate' Trudeau Comments

Source: Bloomberg

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro apologized for suggesting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau deserved a “special place in hell” for a perceived breach in protocol against U.S. President Donald Trump.

“My job was to send a signal of strength,” he said at a conference in Washington on Tuesday. “The problem was that in conveying that message I used language that was inappropriate.”

“I own that, that was my mistake, those were my words.”

A Pruitt Aide's Attack on Zinke Angers the White House

Source: The Atlantic

As Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt faces a seemingly endless stream of scandal, his team is scrambling to divert the spotlight to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. And the White House isn’t happy about it.

In the last week, a member of Pruitt’s press team, Michael Abboud, has been shopping negative stories about Zinke to multiple outlets, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the efforts, as well as correspondence reviewed by The Atlantic.

....
Abboud alleged to reporters that an Interior staffer conspired with former EPA deputy chief of staff Kevin Chmielewski to leak damaging information about the EPA, as part of a rivalry between Zinke and Pruitt. The collaboration, Abboud claimed, allowed the Interior staffer to prop up Zinke at the expense of Pruitt, and Chmielewski to “get back” at his former boss.

....
A White House official with knowledge of the events added: “Absolutely nothing Scott Pruitt did would surprise me.”

Why did Cohen have a hotel room? & Who is the AG in NYC?

Cohen lives near there, why would he have a hotel room? Hasn't he ever heard of a storage locker?

Who is the AG cooperating with Mueller? Is he loyal to Trump?

John Boltons Cambridge Analytica Connection

Bolton’s super PAC has paid Cambridge Analytica more than $1.1 million since 2014 for “research” and “survey research,” a Center for Public Integrity analysis of campaign finance filings shows.

........................

The Bolton PAC is funded by all the usual suspects, but Robert Mercer is at the top of the list every time.

Bolton as national security advisor makes me feel safer already.

Anxiety:Trends that can't continue, won't

The long term damage to the country is obvious, but the pending immediate catastrophe has me genuinely worried, especially over the past two days. Say what you will about whether 9/11 could have been prevented, at least Bush left room for doubt. Trump brags about his strategy for the mid-terms.

In private conversations, Trump has told advisers that he doesn’t think the 2018 election has to be as bad as others are predicting. He has referenced the 2002 midterms, when George W. Bush and Republicans fared better after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, these people said.

Why can't he be stopped? How can there actually be no rule of law?

Featured Rising White House fear: Nunes memo is a dud

Source: Axios

Inside the Trump administration, sources who've been briefed on the Nunes memo expect it will be underwhelming and not the “slam dunk” document it's been hyped up to be.

What we're hearing: There is much more skepticism inside the administration than has been previously reported about the value of releasing the memo, according to sources familiar with the administration discussions.

FBIs Wray makes clear McCabes retirement tied to IGs Clinton report

Source: NBC

FBI Director Chris Wray made clear in a message sent to all bureau employees on Monday night that Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's decision to step aside was a result of forthcoming information to be detailed in an inspector general report, according to a copy of his message obtained by NBC News.

Wray alluded to having seen aspects of the IG's report into the way the FBI handled the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private e-mail server.

"It would be inappropriate for me to comment on specific aspects of the IG's review right now," Wray said in the message. "But I can assure you that I remain staunchly committed to doing this job, in every respect, 'by the book.' I will not be swayed by political or other pressure in my decision making."

Juan Willams, sexual harassment poster child, prototype

This article is incredible, the clips below don't do it justice. It is also just the tip of the iceberg

Washington Post
November 2, 1991
Magazine reporter Juan Williams said yesterday that the newspaper has disciplined him for what he called "wrong" and "inappropriate" verbal conduct toward women staffers and he apologized to his colleagues.
...
The disclosure came five days after a Williams column on The Post's op-ed page in which he said that Anita Hill had "no credible evidence" for her allegations of sexual harassment by Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, but that Hill was "prompted" to make her charges by Democratic Senate staffers.

...
Seven women said in on-the-record interviews yesterday that Williams had repeatedly made hostile and sexually explicit comments to them, in some cases over a period of several years.

...
Jo Ellen Murphy, art director of the Weekend section, said that "he was obsessed with my sex life and that's all he wanted to talk to me about . . . . I raised my voice at him and said, 'Just don't talk to me again.' "

Has any woman who didn't have a political axe to grind accused Franken?

The identified victims I'm aware of were all Republicans with or without photographs that don't show what they purport.

So, does anyone know whether there is are credible complaints along the lines that have brought so many other men down?

Why hasn't there been a counterattack against the Russian Twitterbots?

A search of the name "Mueller" on Twitter yields a fast moving feed of almost entirely proTrump bot spam. No way to know if their all Russian, but it doesn't matter.

What I don't understand is why no one has set up a pro-Truth bot spam army. Does anyone here know what has prevented it?
